. Today's worked out perfectly for the bbc so far just like Wednesday. The Murray game wont now be starting until 6pm and it will running all the way to be 8-9pm, massive peaks in store and Coro St./EmFm will have some extra low ratings!”

How did I know you'd be wetting yourself with excitement tonight. Fantastic game earlier which should rate well, partly because it was brilliant and partly because people would have been tuning in waiting for Murray.
The BBC made exactly the right call with the news and things couldn't have worked out much better for them (other than convincing Wimbledon to hold Murray back for a 6.30pm start). Only complaint is they switched from BBC2 to BBC1 in the middle of a game - surely they could have waited a couple of minutes so viewers could switch mid game.
Anyhow, expecting a peak of 6-7m or so towards the end of the 5pm hour, then an average of 9-10m for the Murray match. What will be interesting is what they do with EastEnders. The match will almost certainly still be going at 8pm so it's a gamble between bumping it to BBC2 or hoping the tennis finishes by 9.30pm at the latest to air it on BBC1. From a ratings point of view though they'd like the tennis to go on to 10pm.
