Current BBC2 schedule:
5.50 Wild Scotland
6.00 Wimbledon 2013
6.30 Great British Food Revival
7.00 The One Show
7.30 Baking Made Easy
8.00 Coast
8.30 Great British Railway Journeys

Bit surprised they've already decided there will be no time for Today at Wimbledon. They should have it though on a dramatic day like today - perhaps after Graham Norton on BBC1.

Still a chance EastEnders might move to 2 I think - depending on the state of the match.

Well technically this is an American documentary that wasn't commissioned by C5, and the director is also the subject.

It would be nice I guess for Eastenders to inherit a big audience at a reasonable time but its hard to read the Murray match. The Poles serve is of Olympic proportions-we might see a few 7-6 figures.

George Gently is going out in September.

7pm and first set not even completed, they could have happily had the full news hour on BBC1 as normal as the Murray match was starting on BBC2 anyway.

You're running out of material now the channel is rating really well and having a good time of things. Bless. This must be how malicious weathermen feel on days like today when they have no miserable news to spread.

As we've already established: Extraordinary People is on the way out. A big schedule overhaul is coming. Greater focus on homegrown content is promised. C5's first UK drama for several years is on the way, alongside new and existing imported dramas. Basically, a lot of the things people in this thread have been asking to see from C5 for some time but now it's actually in the pipeline nobody wants to acknowledge as progress.

I think it's been a great week for the channel both in terms of ratings and promise for the future. I don't see the point in focussing on silly little negatives concerning a programme which has been cancelled.

Murray has lost the first set. Looks like this game will be going to around 9pm and with it being a 4 setter at least, more viewers will watch. Murray better come back though, I'm not as confident today!

Just to point out.if the tennis isnt close to finishing around 830ish they will have to close the roof.they would be able to show eastenders then.

Can that be delayed to November and shown against Celeb?

Have you not seen the weather - one of the most gorgeous days of the year so it should be light through to 9.30-10pm I'd have thought.

Good point - that means there's no chance of it moving to 2 and clashing with the Tennis. That would be an awesome scenario for the Beeb. It'll probably be somewhere between 8.30 and 9 that the roof will go on, so EE won't be delayed too much and should have bumper ratings.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know what this one was about.

Unfortunately people will prejudge based on the title, but might be worth a watch judging by the trailer.

Theoretically, they could show it then, but they've told the cast it's airing in September, so I'm guessing that means Sunday nights.

They would never do that, they'd just fill talking to McEnroe, Henman etc.

Regarding Today at Wimbledon, considering the amounts of time it gets dropped, and with DQF meaning the post news slot is a bit lacking thesedays, I wonder if they should move it to 10:35pm BBC1 for the whole fortnight, it worked during the Olympics.

Not til 9.30, it gets dark even in good weather. And centre court doesn't let a lot of light in, it's not like an outside court. I'd be surprised if they can go on past 9.

I reckon it'll close after the end of the third set.

I still think EE will be moved to BBC Two.

Funny though thinking about what a huge difference this could make to the show's ratings. And it could sure do with the lift right now.

BBC Sport thinks we're good for 3 hours of sunlight (until 9pm) until a decision will need to be made about whether to close the roof.
Chucking out time is 11pm, you know what those Wimbledon villagers are like, hooligans.

To clear up an earlier query, Murray was asked before the World Cup if he was supporting England after Scotland failed to qualify (they were playing Paraguay in their first game). He answered by saying that he intended to buy a Paraguay shirt.
Whether he was being mischievous or anti-English you will have already decided yourselves years ago.

If the roof closes at about 8.30, I don't think bbc1 would go to ee while it closes because it would be against Coro st. I'd love it to happen but isn't there a gentlemans agreement that the two soaps won't clash. If they did clash, it would be one of the very rare occasions EE beats corrie

Very true.

I suppose they could show it at 9.30 but they just don't know how long this will go on.

Overall though this is pure ratings theatre having the semi perhaps luckily thrust into primetime viewing like this.

It'd be down to its usual levels on Monday as the millions of extra viewers remember why they don't watch EastEnders regularly.

True enough. My Mum is the best judge there is and she says the plots are terrible and she's only still watching because Dad does. She still enjoys Coronation Street.

I do wonder if this new homegrown drama will be announced at MGEIF in August, its been far too long since their last one, they do to play catch up since their rivals are producing more homegrown content,

10.35pm would be great or 11.20pm after GN on Fridays, it must be frustrating for people who want to watch the highlights

I used to love ee back wen I was younger, it's a shame that it's turned into a complete mess

An early Christmas present for GeorgeS. I rang up about the teatowel - they don't do one, but they offered this instead.

Urban myth. There is no gentleman's agreement, just common sense.

I don't see why EE should be bumped to BBC2. Stick it on tomorrow if the tennis runs till 10pm.

but it probably will be - it's happened before with Murray matches, and of course the Olympics.
