Yes; DS wrongly said that it was a series high. After a comment by me, they're looking into it.

Not glorious everywhere yesterday. Mizzly and horrible in West Cornwall. Fabulous later on today though, and apparently set fair for three weeks, I heard!

As an example, I've taken the CSI shown at 21:00 on Tuesday 25 June, put in the timings I know in bold, and estimated the others to give you an idea of how it might work:

20:58:20 - 5 News Update
21:02:47 - CSI part 1 (10 mins)
21:12:47 approx - Break (3m50s)
21:16:37 approx - CSI part 2 (11 mins)
21:27:37 approx - Break (3m50s)
21:31:27 approx - CSI part 3 (10 mins 30s)
21:41:57 approx - Break (3m50s)
21:45:47 approx - CSI part 4 (11 mins)
21:56:47 approx - CSI ends; Break (3m)
21:59:47 approx - Continuity
22:00:00 - Big Brother

Thanks. About half the usual news audience decided to stick with the tennis then.

After a couple of queries from users, DS Support did put a comment on the report's page to say that a separate story had been put up about the Murray match. Only a peak though, still a poor show.

Well no, but when you factor in the share (32.2%) and the fact that the first couple of hours were del Potro v Ferrer in mid-afternoon, 4.40m is pretty impressive for the whole Wimbledon coverage from 13:45 to 19:30. As mentioned earlier by D.M.N., Murray's match averaged 5.92m (39.0%) from 15:50 to 19:15.

As a massive fan of big brother time for the show to be shelved just isn't the same without a live feed cannot trust the edit whatsoever load of rubbish people don't watch the feed going by ppl online wanting it

Waterloo Road should see a boost tonight with the death of the longest serving character, should in theory be about 4m, although that might be a big ask thesedays.

Just looking at the Paul O Grady Facebook page, i don't think i've seen any show have a unanmous 100% positive feedback as this show. Many people asking for it to be 1hr next time, which i think with its growing popularity it probably will. Fabulous programme - best on TV!!

It should be an hour on a Tuesday in my opinion. Maybe with a segment where another down to earth popular presenter does a 'for the love of cats' section to pad it out a bit.

Like anyone's going to go on there and say they hate guide dogs!

EDIT: oh, you're talking about POG's other show. It's hard to object to a programme with cute dogs generally though.

When Channel5 started didn't they say it would be strip programming. Same type of thing every night, but there was a film thrown in there sometime I think.

Back to the future, I hope they start putting on the soft porn later again now

Well it doesn't actually have guide dogs in it, so why would they?

And there is always some idiot who will slate a programme for the sake of it.

It was a film every night at 9 to start with, IIRC. They soon ran out of decent titles!

Very difficult to show it on Tuesdays due to football which is shown sporadically half of the year. And then in the months next year when there isn't usually football like June, there's the World cup. I say keep it to Thursdays 8.30pm six times a year and dont listen to the fans who want more, as having more and more episodes will make the show burn out and boring.

I like this guy. I particularly liked his comments about some of the tawdry programming titles masquerading as documentaries that have been popping up on Channel 4 recently and he's absolutely right that if C5 were to go down a similar route it would undermine the work they do. The fact he's dropping strands like 'Extraordinary People' bodes well. I think that's the sort of thing C5, and probably television as a whole, needs to move away from.

However, things like that seem to be the only thing that gets people in big numbers watching Channel 4 these days so I can't see them changing course anytime soon.

Channel5 are trailing Love/Hate loads and there's still 2 weeks to go. Just a shame it's going to start up against The Apprentice final, thats difficult competition!

Has there been a late change? Digiguide not showing Love/Hate on that day.

That doesn't mean it will have big ratings. Although I really hope its a decent figure as it was a great episode, it was just really sad at the end gonna miss Tom

I'll be cynical and say for a programme which if it was on the big four, would have been ditched years ago, BB still attracts a lot of attention. However, it's getting into the same dillemma DW had in the late eighties, most people had given up on it around 1984, but its fan base would have kept it going even if less than a million were watching. BB is the same now, not knocking Dancc and Salv for their support, but it really isn't a conversation opener.
Reality shows of this ilk really belong on MTV or Sky Living as the main four know they don't get the viewers. However, IAC still defies all conventions.

Its to be hoped BBC one new controller will get a grip of these long running dramas. Hopefully there is no more Waterloo Road commissioned ever but it seems to be churning out hours all the time. It looks as if its made by work experience students. Its not good that this is associated as the type of drama the channel is producing. Following on from the excellent tightly produced short series of the punchy Luther on Tuesday to this bargain basement drama run by the team behind Bad Girls it no longer has a place on BBC ones drama output. Id like to see the creation of a brand new 20 episode serial if this is part of the remit and set on a council estate or something away from hospitals police stations or schools

New Freeview channel Drama is launching this coming Monday. I think it's going to be on Sky now too. I'll be very curious to see the ratings for its launch day. I think, looking to the future ITV3 will be its main rival.

Indeed it is. So much so that C5 had a change of heart when they saw the BBC One schedule and it's been replaced by a documentary from ITN about a notorious US serial killer.

I don't have a revised date yet, but the following Wednesday looks probable. Given the promo started earlier than usual for this anyway, it's now looking like a very drawn out campaign. Viewers won't take notice of the trailers which still say "Coming Soon" for much longer, so they won't actually see when it's being screened and they'll forget all about it. Not ideal.

Interesting he puts 1.2m as the benchmark for C5 programming. Probably about the right figure to aim for.

Strange though that the entire early evening schedule on Drama is taken up by Comedy. The rest seems to be The Bill and shows that were probably on ITV3 not that long ago, so how it affects ITV3 will be interesting.

And hasn't it been clear for a while that the 17th was going to be the date of the Apprentice final?
