I took a bold step today and signed up for the three - one plan price drop. £15, 12m, unlimited data + tethring.

Got to admit, could never take the plunge with three, concerned about poor indoor and rural coverage and can't think of anything worse than having no signal.

But this deal is fantastic, with the prospect of getting 4G on a iphone5 supported band too is another sweetner.

So i've been with o2 since they were genie mobile! So 15 years maybe. I'm on their iphone simplicity giving me unlimited data and no tethering.

I'm going to keep both contracts. o2 is a hard one to give up. Unlimited data for £19p/m, no tethering but not that great 3G coverage.

If i find three coverage is good enough i might just ditch o2. No clear options for 4G frequencies on iphone with o2 unless iphone 5s expands the supported bands. Voda merge might be interesting for coverage tho.

If i ditch my o2 in say 6 months if three is good enough can i port my o2 number to three?

thanks

If i remember rightly, you can port a number to Three any time up to six months in to your contract. This is what i was told in November 2011 although I didn't bother.

Damn! Just saw this. Makes my £36/month contract iPhone from Three look less attractive now. In fact doesn't this make all their phone deals look less attractive now? When I am out of contract I really hope that I can move to £15/month One Plan. Prior to the contract iPhone I was on the One Plan SIM only at £25/month which I thought good value.

Have to agree the new pricing makes their phone plans not appealing.I think next year if its still that price i` will just buy a phone out right.

I ported from o2 to 3 last year and it was seamless. Much less stressfull than I thought it would be - o2 sent me a text to say my number was on it's way and then 3 confirmed that - took 36-48 hours IIRC.
