Would you like to see a UK version of America's Celebrity Apprentice?

I'm voting no as I don't think any 'celeb' I'd be interested in could spare the time, so it'd end up with the sort of z-listers who pitch up on "Celeb Big Brother"

If by Celebrety you mean Gordon Ramsay, Derren Brown, Stephen Fry... where do I sign?

If by celebrety you mean the scraps of Xfactor, Big brother... etc. Sod it.

I voted Yes. I'd find them doing all the tasks quite funny.

No. The one-off specials for Comic Relief etc. are alright, but couldn't stomach a whole series of it.

I'd like to see celebrities take on the tasks, but only if they left their celebrity status at the door and competed using their ability, not their celebrity status or connections... in the American version, many tasks involved fundraising. The winner tended to be the celebrity with the most famous/rich mates.

No. The charity one-offs are tedious enough -- I'll just phone my rich mate/husband/daddy and sell £100,000 in one call.
Purple.

I don't think Lord Sugar would ever go for that.

I'm not sure it would entirely work for UK Apprentice, but I voted yes as I love the US Celebrity version so much I would be interested to see how a full series of UK Celebrity Apprentice would pan out I actually think the calibre of celebrities they'd be able to get would be higher than other celebrity reality shows, as The Apprentice would be seen as something more esteemed and less likely to ruin your career than Big Brother or IAC.

It would be great if it were actual celebs, but obviously they would end up with the barrel scrapings you get on CBB and the like. Towie and Chelsea mutants and "models" we've never heard of, so I voted no.

I don't think it would really work for UK Apprentice. I think that the UK version is more of a serious business competition than the US version or any of the other international versions, so I don't think it would really work with celebrities. They've done one-offs, but I don't think that it would work for a full series, especially as Lord Sugar and Karren Brady tend to take the format quite seriously (Nick less so, as he provides a lot of entertainment value).

Lord Sugar would never go for it, more to the point. He hates Celebrity Apprentice judging by his autobiography.

Yeah I would agree with that, that's why I think it probably wouldn't entirely work. The US version works brilliantly because it's pretty much completely down to entertainment, there's loads of ridiculous moments and firings and it has very little to do with actual business, but that's fine because it's the type of show it is. And as you said, regardless of what many people on this forum say, the UK version is definitely a much more serious business show than US version, and I take completely difference approaches when watching US and UK versions of The Apprentice. I would still be interested to see how a UK celebrity version would work though and how it would play out, and I'd definitely watch it.

I find it interesting that none of the international versions (other than ours) have every tried doing a Junior/Young version... is that just because no one else is as passionate about that as Lord Sugar?

Voted no. I'm sick of Celebrity versions of programmes.

Bar the American one, not many of them have had any longevity.

This is an interesting point. Assuming that there was a celebrity edition, how many people here would watch it?

I don't think I would. I may give it a try for one episode to see if it was any good, but on the whole I don't think I'd be interested in Celebrity Apprentice, for the same reason I'm not interested in Celebrity Big Brother... I love Big Brother, but I love it because I love the dynamic of people living together for an extended period of time, all having different backgrounds and seeing where that takes them. The House has a different dynamic every year, and I love the psychology of it. I don't think the celebrity edition would really give me what I watch it for - although I can't really judge because I've never actually seen it.

The Irish version was on for a few series. The Apprentice Australia aired for one 'normal' series, but they're still doing celebrity editions.

The problem is that the people who'd be worth doing it wouldn't really think of lowering themselves to the occasion ... we'd end up with c list people who to be honest most people would have to google

If you look at some of the casts from America, they have had some huge names do it who still have a career, if the uk did like America and give 10,000 a week (or something similar) to the winning project manager, there is no reason why celebrities wouldn't sign up

I would agree with this, actually. While they aren't all A-list names by far, the charity aspect really does help and they have had some recognisable names for this country too - Meat Loaf, Dionne Warwick, Gene Simmons, Dennis Rodman and Cyndi Lauper to name a few.

Piers Morgan won his series and Sharon did pretty well
