Little cat has been for a check up for her asthma and all is well (apart from a little ticking off about her putting on weight!).

She's got a little bit of dandruff though and the vet has recommended evening primrose oil in her food, have tried but she won't touch anything with the oil on it, any ideas on how to get her to take it or alternative cures for dandruff?

Have you tried soaking Dreamies in the oil? My cat would sell her soul for Dreamies so maybe she'll ignore the oil smell for a Dreamies fix.

Instead of primrose oil, I would instead suggest trying fish oil that contains high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids. These days, I buy Salmopet for my elderly cat and it's significantly improved her skin and coat condition.

She usually comes running as soon as she hears the dreamies packet being opened, unfortunately as soon as she smells the oil on them its a screeching halt and quick about turn!

Not heard of that before, am off to the pet shop tomorrow (need some extra activity toys to give her more exercise and try to get rid of some of her 'excess baggage'), I might pick some up and give it a go

It'll take a few weeks for the positive effect to show and I'd suggest initially putting small amounts in each feed so that the cat gets a regular dose. I hope that things get better for your puss.

We'll we thought we would have one final go with the dreamies and what do you know? After a few tentative sniffs she decided to eat them!

Will persevere for a while and see if theres any improvement, if not we'll look into the salmopet.
