Wimbledon 3D...or not, in our case!
I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct place. We have a Celcus 42" 3D telly from Sainsburys. If you go to the BBC1 HD channel, it should be in 3D, but our telly won't let us. We've selected the 3D auto option, but it stays as 2D, it only goes to 3D (and I use the term loosely in this instance), if you select "top to bottom" or "side to side". Is it the signal or the just the telly likes 3D DVDs but not TV 3D programmes.
Many thanks. |

You need to active the red button service on Freeview HD or Freesat HD to enable you to select the 3D match.
I thought that the finals were the only one's in 3D |

If you have Sky as we do, then this may be why

Woohoo!! Yep, we've got it, we've now figured out what "top to bottom" and "side to side" is all about!!
Thanks sooo much, MeanMint. |

My spanking new TV has freeview tuner...but... I don't have an aerial as I watch everything through Sky these days.

And now the BBC announces that they will be suspending their 3D services as they've been described as "too hassly". That's about the size of it!

They ran an experiment which this time they were experimenting with 3D they were able to share with the viewers. They nor ITV chose to share with us the 3D experiments in the 90s .... But ch4 did share the PAL + experiments ... |

Trying to watch Wimbledon in 3D on my Sony KDL-46HX753 but, having tuned to the Red Button HD channel that displays the side-by-side picture, all my 3D options are greyed out so I can't view it properly.
![]() EDIT: problem solved! I had to directly select channel 303 instead of going through the Red Button menu — for some reason it appears not to transmit the 3D 'flag' to the television. |

I had the same problem on a Sony KDL-40HX 753, 303 was OK as were the pics from a Humax Fox T-2. Perhaps it's a Sony oddity.
The BBC made a big thing out of having to tune in to Channel 303 on Freeview rather than saying you could access 3D via the red button. They were specifically saying "tune to Freeview channel 303 and select the side by side option on your TV to enjoy the finals in 3D". |

I don't think it was.
