I've recently bought this freeview HD receiver and it seems to do everything I want with the exception of the PVR function. The manual says that this feature isn't available in all countries but it doesn't say what countries is does work in.
I've tried it with both a FAT32 and an NTFS usb drive but I just get a 'not supported' message when I try to record anything. I can however watch videos already on the stick.
Has anyone had any luck in getting this function to work or will I just have to live without it?

According to the manual both NTFS and FAT32 are supported and there should be no problem using the PVR function in the UK (according to various reviews)
Some receivers can be fussy about the drive used - size/type etc. - so have you tried only the one?
Also, the receiver may offer the choice to format the drive although I can't see this mentioned in the manual - if so, this is worth a try rather than format it on a PC

Thanks for replying so swiftly. I don't see a format option and I've tried a couple of different usb sticks with the same result, but I'll try a few more sticks and see how it goes.

The manual is a bit vague as it refers to 'A suitable USB drive' which means what?

Although Icecrypt don't have a dedicated forum several other forums have an Icecrypt section and they may be worth a try

Just a thought... is it playing can you play files with the inbuilt media player? On second thoughts I guess not as the drive is 'unsupported'

Bizarrely enough, I can play files on the stick using the media player and the device screen in the media menu can identify the drive correctly. it's just when I try to pause or record a live channel that I get the not supported message.

Could you point me towards some of the other forums that have a icecrypt section?

Yet again, thanks for your help.

Shouldn't really link to other forums on here but I hope this should be OK
