What a faff and waste of energy. Get yourself a Philips AirFryer You won't regret it. Much more substantial than the Tefal Actifry too.

I wouldn't want that clobbering great article clogging up my working-top just for the scarce occasions I want chips.
Hotgossip's SW chips recipe is really popular, and tasty + you can add all sorts of seasonings and herbs while they're cooking

Why do people care about healthy chips?

Deep fried in dripping all the way!

I very rarely fancy it but when I do, it's one of the best things ever.

I can't make the chips like my Mum does though.

I chucked my chip pan when I decided to go 'healthy' and I only usually have chips now around Christmas as my food treat

I buy the Sainsbury thin oven chips, the ones that are like McDonalds Fries...........but instead of doing them in the oven I put oil in a pan and deep fry them

I figure if I'm only eating them over a week or so each year I might as well go mad..............

I also make a huge plateful for each meal.................

I got burned about 40 years ago when the fat from a chip pan splashed out.

I've been scared of chip pans and deep fat friars since then. I still worked in the chip shop though.

I do oven chips but Himself does wonderful REAL chips.

this has reminded me.............

years ago, 1970s, when I was a student - one of my student flatmates had worked out 'scientifically' that egg and chips provided all the main food groups and nutrition that Man needed............then proceeded to eat it as his main meal every days for weeks on end..................

So simple, yet lovely.

It has to be lardy chips for me, with runny fried eggs. Dip 'em in and chomp away;

Considering i did a YTS many years ago and gained a NVQ level 3 in cookery/catering i can asure you i tried many things but egg n chips happens to be one of my favourite dishes. Guess maybe it is because it reminds of my childhood. So how about you get a grip and don't comment on threads if you have nothing constructive to add.

Chip n egg is lovvvely. The chips have to be deep fried and a lovely free-range organic egg (or two).

+ bread and butter.

Egg n Chips is my wifes favourite meal, even though I like to try to be adventurous in the kitchen and cook unusual things, no matter how nice they are, egg n chips still comes out on top

On a side note, I usually buy potatoes from Tesco, they come in a smallish paper bag and make really good chips, I pop them in and out of the fryer a few times.fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside.
Last time I went shopping, they didn't have any, so I picked up the nicest looking ones, can't remember what they are, but no matter what I did with them, they were limp as a soggy biscuit

usually 2 eggs and a portion off chips for me.

If I add ham it has to be decent ham and not the cheaper stuff I use for sandwiches.
