I feel like standing and applauding you.

Seems there are other sensible people in the world, as aposed to the people who believe these 'Limited Edition' Singles (So limited, there seems to be quite a few of them) are being released to celebrate Evis' 70th.

Anyone heard they lose the rights to these songs soon? Hmmmm.

Yes, Ratinho, I think you may have mentioned it elsewhere. Just as I have asked how come the lose the rights to songs that were released between 1957 and 1977 all at the same time...

You're right mate, it's not all at the same time.

Again though, naivety to believe that they are being released for any other reason than this.

according to that, elvis has loads in the chart. i thought it was one a week? how come 'A Fool Such As I' has moved up 83 places if hasn't been released before this week?
If the midweeks are right, I hope the Chemical Bros hold onto No.2
EDIT: Whoops...
Just read the thread title

Roll on Elvis! Be nice to see three decent number ones in the UK on a trot!

Nice to see the Elvis haters still thinking it's naive to think that these singles are only being released because they go into Public Domain on the 1st January 2006. If that really was the case that they were being released to make a quick "buck", then they woulnd't be released in such limited quantity.

BMG have had to resort to running off a further 10,000 copies to cope with demand... Once again, if they really wanted to make money they could release 60,000.

Yesterday A Fool Such As I sold 13,500 copies, thats nealry 10,000 more copies than it's nearest rival, The Chemical Brothers (at 4,100)

And if you're a music fan, then you know why people are buying these singles. Yes, there is a Greatest Hits album out there (a few actually), but theres nothing quite like owning a single in its original Sleeve! Something alot of people have been after for many years.
