Where do you keep your bread?
I mostly keep my bread in the freezer and take out as much as I need each time. However, I have recently started making bread in a breadmaker and I am very pleased with the result. It seems a shame to freeze it with it being very fresh and am keeping it in a plastic bread bag. My Aunty says she keeps her bread in the fridge but I have never done that, I would have thought it would dry it out.

I keep it in the freezer.
Was always told putting it in the fridge made it go mouldy faster. |

On top of the fridge............just in it's own bag
I've started getting large sliced Hovis and I find it lasts for 4 days............then I stick the remainder in the fridge and use it for 2 days of beans on toast this warm weather might make a difference tho'.............I bought a loaf on Saturday, hopefully I'll still be using it for sandwiches on tuesday |

In the bread bin - keeping bread in the fridge dries it out.

Only use a slice a day so it's in the freezer but I am using supermarket rubbish bread these days so no harm done. Bread you make yourself would be best in a bread bin to preserve the crustiness. But eat it quickly as it won't keep fresh long, will make fabulous toast as it ages and lovely bread crumbs too.

Wooden bread bin. I use a bread-maker. Generally I only eat bread over weekends, so I prepare it Friday night and it lasts until Monday lunchtime, with a slice or two left over if I want cheese on toast during the week.
It keeps longer if you don't leave the cut side exposed. Covering it with a crust works well, partly because it gets thrown away at the end of the week. If you re-use anything for the purpose for too long, it will get mouldy. |

There is absolutely no problem freezing any kind of bread, including home-made. It won't deteriorate if properly wrapped (in a plastic bag - though always use paper to wrap bread that is kept out of the freezer). Keeping it in the fridge, however, will dry it out.

Usually by the toaster or in the freezer if necessary.

We haven't bought or eaten bread for over a year. I used to use an enamel bread bin which doubled as a huge stock pot and now I use it just for that.

Freezer. Didn't shake the current loaf enough though before freezing (to get a bit of air between slices) and just managed to take a slice out in about 6 different pieces! Oh well, the birds will be happy...
