EPISODE ELEVEN 61/74:

Maurice walks slowly down the stairs holding a crying baby Eddard, who continues to sob uncontrollably, whilst also clutching the banister. Almost in a daze, Maurice opens the door and makes his way towards the pub. Dullagj is on his phone in Janine’s front garden and is reminded of his first months of parenting his baby boy.

Dan notices the light still on in lotty’s surgery and enters. He finds her locking up and looks at the clock which reads 9pm. A tired lotty greets him saying she’s just finished her paperwork and it’s almost time to come back to work. Dan asks if she has time for a quick chat. She tells him to wait at her car and she’ll be out in a minute.

Priscilla’s on her way to Angie’s Den for a night out when she sees Maurice in a confused state deliberating whether or not he should enter the pub. Approaching him she asks if he’s ok and takes hold of Eddy who’s still sobbing. Maurice says he needs to see sorcha, “I can’t do it Cilla….I can’t. I’ve tried and tried but I’m just not cut out for it. He KNOWS I’m not his dad!” Priscilla takes hold of his hand and walks him back towards his house where the door remains wide open with the baby in her left arm. Dullagj heads back indoors.

Dan and lotty sit in the car. Lotty laughs that she should’ve been an agony aunt enquiring what’s wrong now. Dan says he’s got a problem, “Emily’s brother, the one that stalked Scrabbler has moved in with Dot.” Lotty doesn’t see the problem. “The murder weapon ended up there by accident and Bevis doesn’t know it’s there. Thing is, that time I rang the police to test his loyalty, I said that he killed Emily, afraid that wouldn’t be enough to make an arrest….I said he did it with a doggy doorstep which I did. Gary has a private investigator working on the case…what if he puts everything together and goes to the police and they find my prints on the thing and her blood.” Lotty asks if they really made an arrest on such a lack of evidence. Dan asks what should he do? Lotty replies that he either hopes he doesn’t put two and two together or retrieves the doorstep somehow.

In the pub, Shirley is enjoying having Mick working with her behind the bar whilst sorcha remains coy in front of him. Mick says Linda’s gonna love Shirl’s pink barnet, “If she owned this place, she’d call it ‘The Princess Di’ he jokes. Mona’s eyes twitch. Whilst he’s otherwise engaged, mona asks Shirley if that was directed at her but she tells her to stop being so paranoid. Shirley says her mother said she’d be in the gutter by 20, if only she knew what a beautiful gutter it would be and that she’d be 50.

Priscilla goes down to Maurice having got Eddy back off to sleep. Maurice says she’s a natural unlike him. Priscilla tells him he needs to get a grip, “Eddy can sense your negative energy. It’s all in your head. You need to relax. He’s only been home a few weeks and it’s bound to take you a while to get the hang of it considering this is your first time and all.” Maurice says he’s trying but it’s relentless, 24 hours a day “I haven’t had a proper night’s kip either and it’s all just taking its toll.” Priscilla tells him that needs to open up about this to sorcha, he can’t keep bottling it all up.

Dan walks home along the street lit market looking around him, taking everything in and wondering how long it’ll be before it’s all taken away from him. Over at Janine’s, dullagj informs her that the private detective has agreed to start straight away but he won’t come cheap, “He said that next month the team searching for her will be scaled back even more as it’ll be a year since she was last seen alive.” A determined dullag says he’s going to do everything in his power to find her, “I want to make it up to my baby sis. If she’s alive and doesn’t want to know then so be it, at least I’ll know that she’s alive and well. Either way I just want to know. If Gary did harm her, then he deserves everything that’s coming his way.”

Sorcha returns home to find Maurice asleep on the sofa. Not wanting to wake him, she just puts a blanket over him and heads up to bed, not before kicking off her high heels. Over at the B&B, Toni stares at the razor in the bathroom. Looking at her hairy legs, she knows they’re in bad need of a shave but she’s afraid of letting the razor touch her in case she cuts herself again. Her shaky hand grabs hold of the razor and she looks at herself in the mirror. She drops the razor and runs out of the bathroom.

Also tonight, Zack begins to organise a surprise birthday party for Toni. Mo Mouse keeps schtum when Geraldine gets the trots realising she’s also eaten one of the laxative laden apples. Nicnacs meets up with Ken. Seeing the bruises on his arms, she tells him he’s not going back to his monster of a wife. Keyser’s on a mission to puncture Phil’s wheels but O…O stops him just in time.

At the psychiatric hospital, IanMandy is beginning to improve thanks to the medication and treatment and begins to open up to the psychiatrist. IanMandy thanks her for meeting him so late but there’s something he needs to get off his chest before bed. He says that his mind has become much clearer since receiving help as have some of the events leading up to his admission, “It’s like I had someone in my head yelling at me the whole time. Now it feels like they’re shouting in another room with the door shut.” The psychiatrist smiles saying that’s good and is a sign that he’s improving but what did he want to tell her? IanMandy goes to talk but the words don’t come out, she tells him to take his time. “The voices were telling me to get rid of Jake. Jake didn’t stab me…I stabbed myself!”

Toni sits on her bed with her newly shaven legs, used wax strips and a Minute Mart receipt lie beside her but as she tries to get off to sleep, she can’t help but get teary eyed as the loneliness takes hold of her.

Maurice is woken up again by sorcha getting up to give Eddy his feed when she steps on one of his squeaky toys and heads upstairs. Unable to take any more, he starts to pack his things into a rucksack swiftly. Sorcha is blissfully unaware in the nursery with the landing light shining in the door as she feeds the baby. Maurice sticks a cap on and proceeds over the landing and down the stairs, sorcha gets a fright seeing him passing and comes out onto the top of the landing enquiring where he’s going? Maurice is at the foot of the stairs and looks back up at them, unable to look her in the eye he says he’s received a text from his father and needs to get home to him asap. Sorcha cries, “When were you planning on telling me?” Maurice says he’s sorry, he has to go and will be in touch in the morning. Sorcha follows him as he leaves the house. Maurice walks off into the night.

Duff duff: Sorcha stands in the threshold of the door with the baby in one arm and his bottle in the other.

Ha, sweary Denny's the kind of the thing the show can't do but is very much true to life with kids often copying/imitating their older role models leaving their guardian with the task of explaining to them that certain words are prohibited. As with many things I write in this thread, it was based on a real-life exchange I observed between mother and child.

EPISODE TWELVE 62/74: Mitchell-centric

The episode opens with the camera panning on the clock which reads 12:40. Jay is in the Mitchell living room tucking into a salad roll whilst flicking through the channels looking for something to watch. It’s a choice between Bargain Hunt and Loose Women but it’s better than talking to Ronnie who’s brooding in the kitchen.

Sharon and Phil wait anxiously to see the consultant, each hoping that the biopsy hasn’t shown up anything abnormal. Phil asks her if she’ll still want him if there does turn out to be something wrong with him, Sharon says of course she will, giving him a peck on the cheek. The receptionist asks them to see the oncologist, alarm bells beginning to ring in Phil’s head.

Ronnie keeps looking at her phone as if she’s waiting for a call as she stands over the kitchen sink peering out the window. Roxy eventually enters the gate to be faced with an impatient Ronnie who wants to know where she’s been since she took Amy and Denny to school.

The oncologist asks Phil and Sharon to take a seat. Phil takes a deep breath gripping Sharon’s hand tightly. The oncologist proceeds to introduce herself and inform them that the biopsy results have been examined, “The biopsy shows that you have prostate cancer Mr. Mitchell.” Phil’s eyes begin to water as he fights back the tears…

Ronnie and Roxy begin to argue in the kitchen leaving Jay to play referee. Jay storms into the kitchen, coleslaw on the right of his upper lip “Can’t anyone get some lunch in peace in this ‘ouse.” The row continues into the living room, they’ve now begun to throw childish insults at each other. Suddenly, they both stop arguing looking at the tv, “Jay, why are you watching some menopausal women spout feminist garbage?” They start to laugh hysterically together falling back onto the sofa.

Sharon listens in disbelief to what sounds like a death sentence, placed momentarily in a state of shock. Nobody lives forever but to be confronted with death without a warning seemed to be unbelievable and she struggles to digest the news. Memories of Tom and Dennis race through her brain as she wonders if she’s some kind of black widow.

An embarrassed Jay tries to explain that this is the best of the daytime rubbish broadcast at this time before admitting to a crush on Myleene Klass. Jay asks them if they’ve heard from Sharon or Phil, both shake their heads. Jay looks at his phone before stating, “Sh1t, I’m going to be late back.” Ronnie begins to imitate Sharon putting on a posh accent, “Don’t curse in front of my Goldilocks Dennis.” Roxy quips admirably that he’s a menace unlike her Amy. Ronnie reminds Jay that Phil isn’t there to check up on him before receiving a call from a gym client forcing her to make a sharp exit.

Having let the shock set in, the oncologist tells them they’ve a meeting next week with an urologist who will recommend the best course of treatment for his specific circumstances as well as a CAT and bone scan to determine whether it has spread to the bones. Phil and Sharon leave the oncologist’s room, quiet and still in a state of shock. Phil remains silent contemplating his situation when suddenly without warning his head falls into his hands and he breaks down and weeps. Sharon holds him assuring him he’ll be alright and that they’ll get through this together.

Roxy heads to pick Amy and Denny up from school. She bumps into Billy with his post (or is it?). Billy says he’ll be round later to see Phil, asking what sort of mood he’s in. Roxy laughs that it’s likely to be bad as he’s been stuck in the hospital all morning. Lola arrives over upset, “Pops, Sadie’s selling up. She doesn’t want to come back here because of some news she’s received about Jake.”

Phil pulls up in his Range Rover, his eyes visibly red. Phil says that he doesn’t want to cry in front of them. Sharon says he doesn’t have to put on the strong, hard man act now. There his family and are all going to support him. Phil reiterates that he doesn’t want to cry in front of Jay.

Entering the house, Phil sighs as he drops the car keys on the kitchen top. Sharon is surprised to hear the telly on and goes through to the living room to find Jay trying to escape out the other door, having not yet returned to work. Phil makes his way into the living room, Jay’s surprised that he hasn’t had a go at him yet. Jay goes to talk but looking at their teary eyes he thinks he already knows the answer.

Phil goes back to the kitchen as the kettle has boiled. He stares out the kitchen window which is stained with raindrops. Jay asks Sharon, “What did they say?” Sharon whispers tearfully, “It’s cancer.” Jay enters a shock now that it’s confirmed having not wanted to even consider the worst case scenario. The conversation continues in a whispery tone, Jay wanting to know where?, how bad is it? Jay struggles to catch his breath.

Sharon rubs Phil’s upper back while peering over his left shoulder as he finishes making the cups of tea. Upstairs, Jay lies on his bed struggling to get his thoughts together. He begins to tear up as all that stuff that goes with cancer whirls around his head, as he starts getting images of Phil’s funeral. He gets up of the bed and paces the room. Staring out his bedroom window, he watches the world go by and sees Roxy returning with the kids. He puts his arms on his head, slowly falling back to his shoulders before wiping his eyes.

Sharon appears at the threshold of the door, he walks towards it not wanting her to enter feeling trapped enough as it is. Sharon asks if he’s ok before stating that Phil’ll be fine, he just has to get some treatment and then he’ll be right as rain, “Look at Peggy, she’s a survivor.” **trying to put a positive outlook on the darkest diagnosis** Phil appears behind her, Jay unsure what to say or do. He puts his arms out as if to hug both of them and they hug it out.

DUFF DUFF: The camera zooms in on Phil as the tears trickle down his face.

EPISODE THIRTEEN 63/74:

Night is closing in on the Square but the news is still just as raw for the Mitchells. With Roxy and Ronnie now in the know, Billy is the only Mitchell left to tell. Jay is reading Denny and Amy their bed stories. Sharon sits on her bed, looking back and forth at her phone, torn over whether or not she should go to work tonight. She rings Ben Dover to take charge tonight, saying she can’t make it.

Sharon goes downstairs to see where Phil is. The kitchen door has been left wide open, she also notices a full mug of tea on the bench along with a plate of bread, carton of milk and breadknife. She goes to the back gate to see if he’s putting something in the bin or getting something from the Rover but he’s not. She looks into the distance but still no sign.

Then, she sees Billy approaching her and enquires if he’s seen Phil. “Yeah. He was entering the Minute Mart and said to go on over to his house cos yous having something to tell me.” Sharon rushes off, Billy looking on in confusion and Lola making her way over with a chinese for everyone.

Sorcha sits alone in the living room, Eddy asleep upstairs. Luckily she hadn’t work today but she wonders what she’s going to do tomorrow and from then on, having not heard from him since his midnight flit. She texts Priscilla to call over. Looking at the text, Cilla thinks that he’s confided in her.

Dullagj gets a call to meet his private detective who has some files for him to look through. Janine asks if he wants her to go with him but he says it’s fine, they’re meeting at the café. Janine enquires what if Gary is there, “Good. It might be the frighteners on him. He should be glad unless he has something to hide…” he answers.

IanMandy is asked by the psychiatrist if he’s only hurt himself and no one else saying he was saying he had done a terrible thing during his psychotic episode. IanMandy begins to sweat, his mind still unclear of what exactly happened the last time he came into contact with Emily.

Sharon finds Phil in the alleyway beside the pub sitting on the ground. He cries that he was tempted by the drink wanting to block out this nightmare. Sharon’s at a loss, having never seen him this bad. She asks if Shirley Carter supplied him with any booze sniffing his breath but he shakes his head. Sharon tells him to come back to the house with her, Billy has brought round a chinese and they’re going to have a nice family meal together.

Also tonight, Vaslav tells Scrabbler that he shouldn’t brush his teeth or shave naked, Scrabbler broaches the alcohol subject but vaslav says he did it for his own good, “You shouldn’t be drinking on valium.” Mo Mouse is in a foul mood with Geraldine in no humour for a good seeing to saying that the trots were worse than the piles she had last year. F1Ken has several missed calls from his wife, nicnacs assures he’ll never have to go back there, advising him to report her.

Roxy briefs Billy on what to say and what not to say stating that Phil is still a bit sensitive on the subject but Billy’s still taking in the news. They go silent as Sharon and Phil enter. Phil tries to be jovial saying he hears Billy has brought a ladyboy home. Billy protests that it’s lie, but Phil says to lighten up, he’s only having a laugh. Billy claims he was just playing along but it’s clear from his stressed face that he wasn’t. Phil asks where the grub is, entering the living room he sees Lola and Jay setting the table. Lola greets him saying Abi is babysitting Lexi and Ronnie had business to attend to.

Sorcha is glad and relieved when Priscilla comes over. Priscilla is shocked as she explains that Maurice has walked out on her and left to bring up Eddy by herself. Sorcha says that she doesn’t buy his excuse, she saw the cracks but she never imagined he’d do this. Priscilla consoles her saying she has loads of support around here unsure whether or not she should say what she saw last night.

Dullagj meets the detective in the café. He sees him sitting in the left hand corner. Marie asks for his order on entering, them the sole three there. Dullagj says he’ll have a tea please. The detective shakes his hand before providing him with the a copy of the file containing what he’s gathered thus far, majority of it from his contact from inside the station. Then, he looks for his money…Dullagj hands him a brown envelope and he heads off into the night. Dullagj is shocked to see the last that the last piece of evidence is from an unregistered number claiming Bevis killed her with a doorstop…

Phil attempts to eat but he’s no appetite and goes for a lie down. Sharon brings him up a drink. He says “This is what it’s going to be like isn’t it? I’m going to be off my food, tired and you’ll be more of a nurse than a partner.” Sharon tells him to stop wallowing, he needs to stop thinking the worst and be positive, take it as it comes. Jay sits on the kerb outside and Lola joins him.

IanMandy is clearly getting into a state but the psychiatrist keeps pushing for answers. He cries that he doesn’t know, he can’t remember “I know I had an altercation with a missing woman but that’s all I remember…..what if I’ve mentally blocked it out. Is that what’s set me off? Is it?” The psychiatrist tries to calm him down but when he hears that Jake is no being released without charge, he becomes hysterical and has to be sedated.

Duff duff: A sedated IanMandy is taken back to his room. Camera stills on the closed door before panning into the corner of his room.

COMING SUNDAY, FIRST EPISODE OF ANNIVERSARY WEEK:

Spoiler
- It’s clear that Phil’s diagnosis is affecting the whole family, not just him.
- Dullagj wants answers, is he putting himself in danger?

EPISODE FOURTEEN 64/74:

Jay and Lola are sitting on the kerb outside the Mitchell house. Conversation soon turns to Phil and the fact he has cancer. Jay begins to tear up saying everyone that becomes a father figure to him ends up dying; Jase, Archie and now Phil. Lola tries to reassure him that it’s no longer a death sentence and the treatments are a lot better than they used to be. Jay tears up as he states “With Peggy alive, you don’t even contemplate Phil dying. It’s just come as such a shock…like when my dad was killed……I feel useless again. I don’t know what to say to him, if I continue as normal and talk about the footie or Mrs. Patel needing her car serviced, does he think I don’t care? Cos I do, it’s just…..I don’t know what to say and I don’t think I can handle him breaking down in front of me.” Lola consoles him.

Dullagj doesn’t know what to do with his new found evidence, walking down the market he stops when he reaches Angie’s Den and stares at dan’s house. He walks slowly towards the house. On reaching it, he stops still unsure whether to knock or not. Going to turn back, he’s met by Bevis who has appeared from RedHood’s office.
Billy, Ronnie, Roxy and Sharon tuck into their chinese. The sound of Phil’s snoring echoing through to the dining area. Roxy tries to break the awkward silence with at least we won’t have to worry about losing his hair but Sharon finds the remark insensitive and goes to do the washing up.

Sorcha opens the wine and pours them each a glass. Priscilla says she can move in to keep her company saying Sez can find a new flatmate. Sorcha laughs that she’s a big girl and doesn’t need a minder, Cilla who’s feeling guilty about the situation insists that if he’s not back in a week, she’s moving in “I’m not having you staying here on your own. We can ask Shirley to rota us alternately so one of us will always be free to mind the baby.” Sorcha jokes that they’ll be like some lesbian couple before reminiscing.

Lola says she doesn’t know what she’d do if she lost her Pops, remembering her years in the care home and how finding Billy has been the making of her. He’s given her the stability, family and love she was craving for. Jay laughs that Billy’s always been good to him too and that they’re both kind of outsiders that have been taken in, him more so than her. It starts to rain and Lola says she better get back to Lexi as Abi has more revising to do. Jay gives her his jacket so she doesn’t get her hair wet, as she puts the jacket over her head, she pulls him under and they share a kiss. Lola runs off home as Jay is left dumbfounded and guilty.

Bevis asks dullagj who he’s looking for. Dullag stutters as a downpour falls from the sky. Bevis invites him in until the rain clears. Dullagj scans the house for a doorstop but doesn’t notice. Bevis puts on the kettle, again enquiring what brings him to their house saying dan’s out a Pact Coffee initiative if he’s looking for him…..”Ah I was just calling to say that Marie in the café said that Jake is being released without charge, rumour has it IanM stabbed himself and might have killed my sister. Just thought I’d let you know….did he ever say anything to suggest he harmed Emily?” Bevis is shocked and uncomfortable all at the same time.

Sorcha says she remembers being a teen rebel with posters of Westlife and Leonardo Di Caprio on her wall, “I remember not being able to wait until I was an adult and could do whatever I wanted when I wanted…not that I wasn’t already. My first boyfriend was a right bad boy and growing up on my estate, drugs were rife and you did what you had to do to stay in with the crowd. My mammy’s a typical Irish mammy, she always wanted the best for me and did everything she could but I found myself in an abusive relationship, it was toxic. I just thank the lord that I didn’t get impregnated by his stinking spaff. Then, I moved here and I was free at last, even if it means I can never go back. I couldn’t face it….too many ghosts. But I was sitting here tonight thinking, is this it? Is this what it’s all about? Cos if it is, I think I’d rather be a carefree child or teen again, with not a care in the world.” Priscilla thinks the worst, worrying she might be suicidal again. Her uneasiness doesn’t go unnoticed.

Scrabbler knocks on vaslav’s door saying they need to talk. He opens it to find him lying in the foetal position on his bed, it’s clear he’s been crying. Scrabbler asks what’s up saying he’s meant to be the depressed one, “Is it Ronnie’s? Have they been giving out to you for blow-drying ALL your hair in the nude in front of everyone in the changing rooms again?” Vaslav smiles that he only did that the once before stating that he hasn’t left the house in weeks. Scrabbler looks back at him bewildered. ”It’s my tormentor, he’s living on George Street” vas cries.

Also tonight, Mo Mouse sneaks out to dispose of the remaining apples unable to take Geraldine painting the bog bowl any longer but when she catches him in the act, he’s got some explaining to do…. F1Ken goes to the police station to report his wife for abuse but he can’t do it, even with support from nicnacs. Zack is delighted when Sharon agrees to host Toni’s party, Zack spends the rest of the night PM’ing DS’ers invitations. Carol practices falling over in the pouring rain.

Sharon asks Jay where he and Lola got to, it was supposed to be a family meal. Jay apologises saying he needed some fresh air and goes into the dining area only to see that Billy and Roxy have cleared his plate between them. Jay decides to take an early night instead as they merrily talk rubbish. Ronnie clears the table, bringing the stuff to the kitchen she asks Sharon if she’s alright. Sharon sighs that she’s worried about what lies ahead saying Phil almost came off the wagon tonight. Ronnie puts a sympathetic hand on her shoulder assuring her that they’ll get through this together as a family. The camera pans upstairs to Jay who’s sitting on the landing, his elbows touching his knees, his hands on his head and tears in his eyes. He can’t face going to bed knowing the nightmares he’ll have.

Jake makes a quiet return to the Square not wanting to cause any trouble but will he really be able to continue working round here? Evie’s devastated to learn that her son has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and returns home to break the news to her husband. The psychiatrist speaks to one of the consultants informing them that IanM is unsure whether he killed someone or not and as well as the stabbing, she thinks the police need to get involved and that he should be getting his help in prison stating that he could be a danger to the other patients.

With the drink in, Priscilla spouts that she stopped Maurice entering the pub last night with Eddy. He was hysterical and she brought him back to the house telling him to get a grip and to confide in Sorcha. Sorcha shouts at her to get out and shuts the door tightly, leaving her slouched down behind the closed door crying. A few doors down, vaslav cries that he might never leave the house again. Scrabbler puts his head to his chest, kissing his forehead he says he’ll sort it.

The police arrive to take IanMandy in for questioning saying he’s under arrest blah blah blah. A dazed IanMandy has no strength left to fight. Back at dan’s, Bevis tries to paint IanMandy in a good light saying he doesn’t think he’d harm anyone, “Look at the Jake situation, he could’ve stabbed him but he stabbed himself.” Dullagj finds his defence of IanM strange and wonders how he could be so certain unless he did it himself. Dullagj thanks him, cunningly adding that he was the last person to be arrested in connection with the case saying supposedly a doorstop was involved.

Duff duff: A shocked Bevis stands still, unable to move wondering how anyone could know the murder weapon.

COMING LATER, SECOND EPISODE OF ANNIVERSARY WEEK:

- Dan’s got some explaining to do but Bevis knows he’s already in too deep.

EPISODE FIFTEEN 65/74:

It’s early morning and Zack is busy putting the final preparations together for Toni’s party. He texts her to meet him at his flat at 8:30 that night as he wants to treat her for her birthday. Back at the B&B, Toni is reluctant to go afraid that Lauren might tag along too. She asks Kim if there’s any post for her, hoping that somehow her mother might have addressed a card to her and reached her but there isn’t.

Gary sees Jake outside Scarlett’s waiting for Ian and approaches him. Gary shakes his hand saying it’s good to see him again after what that nutter put him through. Jake smiles, Gary states that he’s also wanted in relation to the disappearance of his sister “They’re looking at CCTV of the last time she was seen alive which shows him having an altercation with her. A part of me hopes that the psycho admits to it so I can find out where she’s buried but another part hopes that she’s alive somehow. The not knowing is the worst.” Jake offers his condolences saying he’s sorry that he’s also suffered at his hands, then Ian rocks up. Gary has to stop Ian and Jake coming to blows, Jake looks at Ian in bewilderment. Ian spits, “I know…I know about the pervy pics you took of my daughter.”

Phil is nervous ahead of his meeting with the urologist but tries not to show it. Sharon’s busy leaving Denny to school, getting the club ready and stressing over Phil and has no time to stop and talk. Jay receives a text from Lola as Phil heads outside with the bin bag, she wants them to meet for lunch at the Shirley Gutter to talk about last week. Dot spots Phil outside his back gate and approaches him asking if he got himself sorted at the doctors adding that she’s been prescribed new blood pressure tablets, Phil goes to break down unable to say the word ‘cancer’ and not wanting to tell the local gossip his business. Dot invites him inside sensing something’s wrong.

Bevis is frosty with dan as he wonders if he dogged him into the police. That only makes matters worse as he sees IanMandy’s face plasters across the papers with the words ‘Suspected Murderer.’ He continues to be snappy with him throughout the day cueing dan to joke that he’s so feminine he has a time of the month. Dan tries to break the ice unsure what he’s done wrong this time by asking if he’s attending Toni’s party, he takes the sound he emits as a yes.

Also tonight, Mo Mouse tries to win back Geraldine by making her breakfast in bed and cleaning the house from top to bottom but she’s stubborn and says he’s got a lot of making up to do before they’re on speaking terms. F1Ken gets a surprise to find the police at his new accommodation, they inform him that his wife has reported him missing. David wants to move in next door to Ian’s, in the flat below Priscilla and Sez, to give him and Carol their own space.

Dot is shocked when Phil cries that he has cancer. Dot tries her best to console him and recalls her own cancer experience, “I was diagnosed with kidney cancer, it must be 10 years ago now. I remember being scared and confused. I didn’t want to tell anyone, that’s me though ain’t it, I like to talk about other people’s problems. I only told young Dennis and he persuaded me to have chemo and look at me, I’m still standing.” Phil says he thinks this is in turn for all the bad things he’s done over the years. Dot tells him that her faith got her through it and it’s never too late to turn over a new leaf, “ I couldn't manage without my faith, not with the life I've had. You’ve got Sharon, Jay, Denny, little Lexi, you’ve everything to live for. It might feel like you’re going to die but you can fight this Phil.” Phil gets a text from Sharon asking where he is, adding they’ll be late. Sharon is surprised to see him leaving Dot’s house, Phil thanks her for the tea and talk.

Jay and Lola meet in the pub and the atmosphere is awkward to say the least. Mona watches on from the bar quipping to Shirl that he better not be cheating on Abi, he’d hate him if he did that “Abi and Jay are meant to be together, just like you and Phil.” Mona turns around but she’s the other side of the bar with Mick who has her arm around her and announces that this time tomorrow the Carters will be in town. Lola and Jay both agree what happened was a mistake and agree to forget about it, talk soon turns to Phil and Lola says she was lying awake last night thinking how Lexi would grow up with no grandparents as doesn’t know who her mother is. Jay assures her it won’t come to that but what about Ben? He has a right to know…Lola sighs the last thing she needs is him back in her life. Lola says she has to go as her Pops is due into work. Mona heads over to clear Lola’s stuff.

Jake tries to explain that it’s not what it looks like but Ian doesn’t want to hear and tells him he can find somewhere else to work. Jake is broken and Gary takes him to the café. Gary gets him a coffee and muff-in before asking what the deal is with the pics. Jake replies that he was drunk and took them off her in the nightclub. Gary is a bit creeped out wondering why he didn’t delete them but he has no time to ask as he spots dullagj2 entering the Minute Mart.

Mona says to Jay that he and Lola looked very cosy. Jay replies that they’re friends and nothing more. Mona laughs that he wouldn’t like to be him if Max catches him cheating on Abi. Jay shouts at her that they’re going through a difficult time at the moment and are just supporting each other and storms out. Mona follows feeling bad for upsetting for him but as she approaches the corner, she overhears him on the phone talking “Have you seen the consultant yet? How bad is the treatment going to be……What? Phil told Dot he has cancer, now the whole Square’s going to know.” Mona pulls her best shocked face.

When Gary enters the Minute Mart, he sees dullagj staring at the newspaper headlines. Standing beside him, he says that he thinks they’re finally going to find out what happened to her stating they’ve got the right man. Dullag laughs in disbelief saying “You would be happy with the heat being taken off yourself, wouldn’t you? Most murdered victims know their killers, often it’s someone very close to them. Now who could that be?” Dullagj leaves without paying unsure whether Bevis or Gary killed her. Gary shouts out the door, Helen looking on “You’re the one with something to hide.” Dan looks on from his stall.

Night begins to close on the Square and everyone’s getting ready for Toni’s party. Sharon rushes to get ready having just grabbed something to eat having spent another day at the hospital. Phil reassures her that she should go to work, it’s going to be a busy night. Jay again enquires about his treatment but Sharon says they can talk about that tomorrow, she hasn’t got time now.

Zack is relieved when Toni shows up at his flat having feared she’d be a no show. Lauren has made an excuse not wanting Toni to feel put out at her own party. Toni is shocked to find everyone waiting for her at Angie’s Den. There’s a simultaneous shout of ‘Surprise’ as she enters with Priscilla and Sez popping party poppers. Angelic P. is at the bar waiting for Scrabbler whilst talking to Shazza, both admiring her ponytail. Scrabbler is trying to persuade vaslav to come to the party but he won’t budge. Gary glares at dullagj as he walks in with Janine. Sorcha sees Lauren is babysitting Scarlett and asks if she can look after Eddy too, she blanks Priscilla when she walks in. As if things couldn’t get any worse for Gary, Kim walks in and her and Angelic P. share their mutual dislike of him, Angie joking not to let him near the birthday cake knife.

Dan is still getting ready and when he finally emerges, he’s greeted by a stern Bevis who says that he knows it was him who dobbed him into the police.

Duff duff: Dan looks at him wondering how he’s going to talk himself out of this one.

EPISODE SIXTEEN 66/74:

Dan laughs in Bevis’ face asking if he’s been drinking and goes to leave the house. Bevis follows enquiring if he really wants to do it like this, in front of everyone because he will.

Toni’s 24th birthday party is getting underway in Angie’s Den. Sharon is pleased to see the place buzzing, Angelic Princess compliments the décor saying she has a great eye for design. Kim is still bitter about the end of her whirlwind romance with Gary and tries it on with every man that looks in her direction but she isn’t having much luck, Gary and Jake are sitting at the back watching and commenting on going ons, Gary is amused by Kim’s desperation. Jake remarks all the dirty looks Gary is receiving.

Mona is shocked at what she’s heard today and is torn over what to do; Shirley is so happy now that she doesn’t want to ruin that but if she doesn’t tell her and she finds out and realises that she already knows, how will she react? Surely it’ll become common knowledge at some stage. In the hallway, Shirley points at her wrist as Mick continues to waffle away to Linda on the phone saying he can’t wait to get his hands on her tomorrow. Elsewhere, Scrabbler’s attempts at getting vaslav to leave the house prove futile and he and lola_skye go themselves voicing their concerns about vas on the way.

Bevis grabs hold of dan’s shirt asking him to wait, “I want to know why you did it, why did you shop me into the police?” Dan looks round over his shoulder and as their eyes meet, he can’t face lying to him any longer. Dan cries that he wasn’t sure if he could trust him, he’d moved IanMandy in and he became paranoid. Bevis lets go of dan’s shirt. Standing in disbelief, he watches on as dan enters the club.
The music can be heard coming from the club

Cause I'm the only one, who know the things you've done
I'm so good for you
We're running out of time, two wrongs can make it right
Could I make you do

Toni kisses Zack on the cheek for organising the party for her, saying he doesn’t know how much this means. Zack says he just hopes there’s no hard feelings between them and that this can be a new start for them. Toni smiles that it’s all water under the bridge and she hopes he and Lauren can be happy together before dragging him onto the dancefloor.

Also tonight, Mo Mouse fills the washing machine, putting in as many clothes as he can. Geraldine is furious with him asking if he’s doing this on purpose so she never gets him to do the chores again, a downbeat Mo watches the washing go round and round. F1Ken says that he can’t face going back home but he doesn’t want to lose all his friends either when he has done nothing wrong. Los.kav and vald arrive back from Florida.

Jake asks Gary how he’s made so many enemies. Gary points at Angie P stating he stabbed her, “I stalked Scrabbler, Kim hates me because I stole from her sister’s boyfriend’s gaff, my brother hates me **points at dullagj** because I abandoned him when he became a needle abuser and I stole from his gaff, threatened him, blackmailed him emotionally and financially, shall I go on?” Jake laughs that he thought he had it bad **wondering to himself if he should be acquainting himself with Gary**, he just has to stay away from Lucy. Gary quips that she looks like a ghost stood over there with Cindy, “Oh yeah it was her £10k I stole.” Gary heads to the bar for another drink.

Toni embraces dan as he enters stating she hasn’t seen him in yonks asking how he is. Dan smiles as he gives her the bottle of perfume he knows she likes, telling her it’s good to see her back on her feet “We were worried about you. It hasn’t been the same partying without you!” Bevis enters and asks Ben Dover for a shot of something that’ll erase his memory. Toni laughs to dan that it’s been too long, “The last proper get together was probably your housewarming, how long ago was that? Although I couldn’t go cos I was looking after Lauren.” Dan laughs awkwardly. Jake is talking incessantly about Man United’s awful season, Gary breaks the monologue to inform him that those two lads that just entered also aren’t too fond of him, especially the one who sells the dodgy coffee on the market that taste like muck.

Dullagj tells Janine they shouldn’t have come, this was a bad idea. Janine disagrees crying that it’s ages since she had a good night out and makes her way to the dancefloor without doing the awkward drunk dad at a wedding dance. Gary is on his way to the loo bored of listening to how awful David Moyes is and tries to take the opportunity to make it up with his brother. He tells him that he paid his Minute Mart bill so he doesn’t have to worried about the police coming after him **dullagj rolls his eyes** and he has him to thank for the police nabbing IanMandy as he told them about the CCTV, Dullagj reiterates that he doesn’t think he’s guilty.

Sez nudges Priscilla when she sees Sorcha going wild on the dancefloor after one too many sambucas and vodka shots. Scrabbler, who is sitting with Angie P and lola_skye, wonders if he should step in and take her home but lola_skye sighs to let her let her hair down, she’s just letting off some much needed steam. Priscilla’s on the verge of doing something when sorcha starts gyrating and humping Keyser’s leg. Sez asks who are they? Sharon buts in saying they’re new round here, “They moved in above the chippie, I don’t know how you pronounce the partners name if it’s O or 0 or if it’s Double O or Double 0 or ZeroDot or ODots…….Oh I don’t know.” Sorcha stops on the spot as her & TK’s song comes on and runs out of the club. Priscilla follows.

Tomorrow's coming but this won't change,
Cause some days stay gold forever.
The memory of being here with you,
Is one I'm gonna take my life through,
Cause some days stay gold forever.

Shirley cries to Mick that it was a waste of time opening tonight as everyone is at Sharon’s party, “What if this becomes a regular occurrence?” Mick kisses her forehead assuring her it won’t, they’ll be back to being the liveliest drinking establishment in Walford tomorrow, just she wait. They decide to close early letting those extras that prop the bar every night out as well as chatty Tracey. As Shirl heads to bed she notices that mona is still sitting at the kitchen table. Shirl asks her what’s wrong? Mona stutters unable to get the words out, unsure if she should get them out….”It’s Phil…he’s….**Shirley tells her to spit it out expecting some Phirley rubbish**…got cancer!” Shirley tries not to cry and tells her to go on back to bed, she has to go downstairs for something she forgot. Back at the club, Zack can’t find Toni.

IanMandy is still being questioned at Walford Police Station and is beginning to crack under their thorough cross examination, he screams at them that he didn’t do it, he can’t even remember that night. His solicitor asks them to give his client a break. Elsewhere, Priscilla follows sorcha down the market. Trying to stop her, sorcha screams at her to f**k off, she’s no friend of hers. A staggering sorcha takes off her heels and walks through the Square Gardens. A teary Priscilla stands outside the Shirley Gutter.

I don't care, go on and tear me apart
I don't care if you do, ooh
'Cause in a sky, 'cause in a sky full of stars
I think I saw you

'Cause you're a sky, 'cause you're a sky full of stars
I wanna die in your arms
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HRC1pGn4QE

Dan has been avoiding Bevis all night and they end up butting heads over the urinals. Dan tells him to drop it, he’s always making a big drama out of nothing. Bevis laughs in disbelief, “What has happened to you? I thought I knew you but you’ve more faces than the moon, I guess I should be grateful that I saw the real you before I was stuck with you. I’m past caring, I’m done with this sh1t. I’m going to the police in the morning and I’m going to tell them everything, how you murdered that poor girl!” Bevis storms up not even having time to do up his fly, Dan follows. Gary emerges from the cubicle.

Duff duff: Gary washes his hands. Looking in the mirror, he has a gleeful glint in his eye.

EPISODE SEVENTEEN 67/74: TWO-HANDER

Toni’s wandered out of her own party for a sneaky fag. Trying to calm her nerves at being the centre of attention, she takes a puff. Her breath is clearly visible in the night air, she begins to wander around outside to keep warm. Seeing the light on in the old charity shop, she peeks her head around the door frame to see how the refurbishment is coming along.

She hears ruffling in the back and makes her way to the back of the shop, the aroma of fresh paint engulfs her. In the back, she sees los.kav sorting boxes. He’s startled when she speaks, having not heard her enter. Toni apologises for giving him a fright saying she was just seeing how the place was coming along.

Los.kav asks if she’d like a cup of tea to warm herself up noticing her shivering. Toni laughs that she wouldn’t say no to a hot drink right now **stubbing out her fag**, “I thought I was going for a meal but my friend had really organised me a surprise party. **smiles** A nice surprise. Then, this time of year, you dress for the summer but we don’t exactly get much of a summer. I’ll probably have a cold now next week knowing my luck” she laughs. Los.kav hands her the hot mug, “that’ll stop your teeth clattering.”

Talk soon turns to the homeless shelter he’s opening, he says that he hopes to have it up and running by next week all things going well. Toni tells him she’d be happy to volunteer and help, stating she’s sick of being cooped up in the B&B. Los.kav looks at her. Toni asks if she has something on her face, frantically rubbing it. Los.kav laughs, “No it’s just I’ve seen your face around. Didn’t you live in that flat near the Arches?” Toni pauses, “Ehhhhh…”

Toni begins to cry. Los.kav feels like he’s put his foot right in it. Toni composes herself, “No, no…it’s alright, stop fretting. It’s just I started self-harming again and it kind of got out of hand, I was sectioned. I’m not long out actually, I couldn’t face going back there. I thought I could…..then I suppose it didn’t help finding my best friend and flatmate, Zack, bonking my dream woman.” Los.kav looks at her, he’s shocked when she fills in the gaps and recalls his own incident with Lauren. Toni laughs that Lauren gets around and realises that must’ve been the night she attempted suicide. Los.kav laughs, “Little did Zack know where that sock had been.”

Los.kav recounts that’s why he was in Florida, he was getting his breasts removed “Vald treated me. I owe everything to her. She was offering to get the whole shebang down but I couldn’t face it, the pain. She was afraid that the binding would lead me to have health problems later in life but I worry that I’ll never be considered a man cos I don’t have a dick.” Toni doesn’t really know what to say, trying to make him feel better she states “No one’s going to see it. Only the persons you choose to get intimate with.” Toni puts the mug on the drainer and asks how he became homeless, was it to do with his gender issues?

Los.kav clears his throat “My family rejected me. They couldn’t get their head around it. I was always a bit of a tomboy but to have me want to be a boy, they couldn’t comprehend it. My mother walked in on me binding one day and they hit the roof that night and said they were bringing me to the doctor to get help. I tried to explain how I felt but they just looked at me like I had 3 heads hoping it was just a phase. Unable to take anymore, I left home and ended up living on the streets. I sought solace in alcohol and became addicted. It wasn’t a life, it was an existence living minute by minute. **weeps** Feeling worthless, my head down unable to look people in the eye. Vald saved me, came to accept me. It’s overwhelming to FINALLY feel and be accepted.”

Toni is also crying, bringing back memories of her own rejection. Her mascara running “It’s hard for me to share memories from my past, it’s even harder for me to trust. I never knew real love, I still feel that pain like it was yesterday. It’s why I push people away. I admire your strength, sorry I missed your fundraiser. I saw it advertised but I had an interview the same day.” Los.kav says that sometimes it helps to talk about problems and not let them eat you up inside, he learnt that the hard way.

Toni says that her father was an alcoholic who died of liver damage. He was a violent drunk and often lashed out at her mother, “All I ever wanted was the love of my father, like any little girl but I never got it. My mum and I always got on well, I wished I’d been able to help her but after his death, we were more like sisters but I kept falling for men like my father. That’s when I experimented and realised I was a lesbian. My mother couldn’t accept it and we haven’t spoken since. I do forward my address but I never hear from her. Not even today on my birthday……When I failed to help Lauren, it brought it all back and I tried to kill myself.”

Los.kav gives her a hug stating that he thinks she’s very brave and she can use her bad times to help those that she’ll be helping, it can be very rewarding to give back to people using your own experiences. Toni smiles that she thinks she needs something to give her a purpose, she’s taken up boxing but she’s not very good at it. Los.kav’s phone beeps, it’s a text from vald asking where he is.

Toni says she better get back to her party, they’ll be looking for her. Los.kav tells her to come back Monday and they can talk more about the work that’ll be involved. Toni thanks him for the chat saying it was nice to talk to someone else who’s been through the mill and come out the other side. She kisses him on the cheek as a demonstration of her appreciation.

Los.kav looks at her as she pulls her head away, their eyes meet but it’s silent. Los.kav leans it for a passionate kiss and it’s reciprocated. Los.kav puts his arms around her waist whilst giving her hair a stroke. Toni pulls away, both saying bye. She walks towards the door with a smile on her face. A smiling los.kav can be seen in the background.

The picture fades to black for the credits and the theme plays. There’s no duff duffs.

EPISODE EIGHTEEN 68/74:

Dan sits asleep on the sofa, the tv on BBC Breakfast. The camera pans around the empty takeaway packages and unslept beds. The camera moves smoothly to the next house where we see Bevis, who is also lying asleep on a sofa. Lola_skye comes in to pull the curtains asking if he had a good night’s sleep.

A hung-over Sorcha wakes up to the sound of Eddy crying. Holding her forehead, it’s clear that she regrets last night although she texts Priscilla to see what exactly went on as she can’t remember.

Toni is clearly on a high after last night’s surprise birthday snog and texts Zack to go to lunch with her at the Shirley Gutter wanting to show her appreciation for him throwing her a surprise party. Back at Zack’s, his phone vibrates on his locker and he emerges from under the covers. He only just has enough time to reply before Lauren has pulled him back under.

Gary stands outside Angie’s Den, unsure what his next move should be. He doesn’t know whether he should confront dan outright but he has no proof and it could be dangerous to let him know that he’s in on his dirty secret. He decides to go to Janine’s instead to see his brother.

Also tonight, Mo Mouse checks out escort agencies on his mobile unbeknownst to Geraldine but thinks they’re too pricey. F1Ken asks nicnacs to come with him to his house but she’s unsure what she should do. Keyser and O…O meet back at their flat to discuss last night, having both copped off with different people. Mr. Ender wonders if he should move on to pastures new.

Shirley is still in shock at Mona’s revelation. Mick thinks she’s put out at him moving his family to the Square but she assures him that’s not what it is, she’s looking forward to seeing the kids. Mona waits until he goes downstairs to bring it up, telling her she has to talk to Phil. Shirley scowls that it’s none of her business.

IanMandy is on edge in his cell hoping to be released today. He’s still receiving his medication but being locked up isn’t helping his problem. The police take him in for further questioning. IanMandy is struggling to keep it together having to recall that night over and over again, him unsure what actually followed the altercation. The police inform him that someone has come forward to say he was at the party that night but they need to know what happened in the missing hours. IanMandy racks his brain but says he struggles to remember what happened last week.

Dan tries to contact Bevis but he won’t answer. Dan worries that he might have went through with his threat and could be in the police station right now spilling the beans. Bevis is enjoying making him squirm, smiling at the sheer number of missed calls and texts. He’s also enjoying the hospitality at Scrabbler’s where he’s being made feel right at home.

Toni waits for Zack at the pub. The Carters arrive in while she’s waiting; Linda, Nancy, Johnny and Lady Di. Linda has a good look round admiring what she sees whilst also complimenting Shirley on her pink hairdo. Zack arrives in a few minutes late but Toni is happy to see him and blue arrives to take their order. Zack remarks her glowing smile and tells her to spill, “Don’t think your disappearance went unnoticed you saucy mare.” Mick embraces his family having not seen them in weeks. Mona looks on from the other side of the bar at Shirley’s new family.

Bevis thanks Scrabbler for putting him up for the night and heads back to his place to get his things. Scrabbler goes up the stairs to vaslav who is still in his pit. Scrabbler decides that he’s going to sort this once and for all and heads to George Street. Gary greets him as he passes before knocking on dullagj’s door.

Dullagj tells him that he’s not interested but he insists that it’s very important. Gary says he overheard Emily’s killer admitting to it and he needs his help to bring him to justice. Dullagj bursts out laughing in his face asking if there was an echo in the room he was talking to himself in. Gary stands on the spot unsure how best to convince him, the door closes in his face.

Scrabbler knocks repeatedly on Bomani’s door after being directed by Mrs. Patel but there’s no answer. Scrabbler perches himself on the steps outside not moving until he get this sorted. Over at dan’s, dan is delighted to see Bevis but he just walks straight past him and through to the bedroom. Bevis begins to pack his things, dan gets in his face saying he’s moved out before and come crawling back. Bevis says he only came back because he was beaten up and had gone off the rails without him. Dan asks him to marry him again, saying they can move away and start afresh after the wedding.

Duff duff: A torn Bevis stands over has half-filled suitcase unsure what to do.

COMING LATER, SIXTH EPISODE OF ANNIVERSARY WEEK:

EPISODE NINETEEN 69/74:

Scrabbler is still sitting on the steps outside Bomani’s flat on George Street. He’s not even sure what he looks like but he’s determined to put an end to this once and for all. A man matching his description arrives and asks Scrabbler to move out of the pathway of his door. Scrabbler asks if his name’s Bomani, the man replies “Who’s asking?”

Dan and Bevis are now sitting side by side at the foot of the bed, dan talking about the idyllic life they’ll have when they move away from here saying it could even be a chance for him to expand his t-shirt business. Bevis is trying not to be swept away by his daydreams but will he ever get a better offer?

Priscilla fills sorcha in on her drunken antics, the two friends burying the hatchet. Sorcha says Priscilla did what she thought was best and he was going to leave anyway whether she intervened or not. Priscilla is relieved that she’s forgiven and says they could start organising Eddy’s christening now, thinking it might be something for sorcha to look forward to. Sorcha thinks it’s a great idea.

Toni tells Zack that she snogged los.kav last night. Zack is shocked unsure if she knows about his sex swap or not, “I thought you only liked women or is that what you told me to stop me hitting on you” he laughs. Toni smiles, “Well he was a woman and still is in ways” **winking** and proceeds to talk about her new job as a volunteer at the homeless shelter.

Gary sits on Arthur’s bench feeling lower than he’s ever felt. Spurring himself into action, he goes to the Laundrette to get some advice from Dot. Inside Janine’s house, dullagj is making a phonecall. The phone beeps to leave a message **beep**, “Mum, when you get this please give me a call back. It’s about Chris Mark Gary, it’s important.”

Also tonight, Mo Mouse is home alone when Geraldine goes on a girl’s night out. Nicnacs agrees to go with F1Ken but is she prepared for what lies ahead? Keyser is unsure whether he wants this open relationship arrangement with O…0 any longer. Mr. Ender prepares for another night on the street corners.

Bomani tells Scrabbler that he can live where he pleases, it’s a free country. Scrabbler is stern with him saying it won’t wash with him, he knows his game. Bomani laughs that he has no problem with gaylav as long as he stays out of his way. Scrabbler asks how much he wants off him to leave the Square for good. Bomani reiterates that he’s going nowhere, “Who are you? Vaslav’s b!tch?” Scrabbler tries to contain his anger at the homophobe.

When Toni goes to the bar, she and mona take the opportunity to laugh about Zack’s cleaning habits, both having lived with him in the past. Toni says he nearly had a fit the time she used his exfoliating gloves and was always giving out to her for leaving the place in a mess, Mona nods in snorting laughter “Ah that’s so me too!” Toni goes back to her seat and tells Zack to put his wallet away, this is all on her. Zack asks what she and mona were talking about, Toni replies “Just girl stuff.”

Unable to take anymore, IanMandy admits to accidentally killing Emily “I can’t remember it but it had to be me, there’s no other explanation.” The police charge him. Back at dan’s, Bevis tells him that there has to be no more lies and he means it this time, he wants them to get everything out in the open “Surely none of it’s worse than manslaughter right, you ain’t got anyone else buried under the floorboards, have you? I haven’t seen vaslav in a while.”

Dot takes Gary in the back, seeing that something is troubling him. Dot complains that Cora has eaten all the Garibaldis so he’ll have to make do with the tea. Gary says that he overheard something terrible and he doesn’t know what to do with the information. Dot tries to offer some saintly advice but he’s still none the wiser at what he should do. Gary heads to dan’s again….

Priscilla leaves to do a food shop for sorcha. Sorcha sits down at the kitchen table with a notepad proceeding to organise the christening thinking who she’d like to be godparents and who she was going to invite. She deliberates over whether or not she should invite her family over, knowing more than ever now how short and transient life is, and she wants to mend those wounds before it’s too late. There’s a knock on the door and Sorcha goes to answer it presuming Priscilla has forgotten something. Sorcha gets a shock to find Maurice standing there.

Janine is going through her credit card bill for the past month and tells dullagj that it’s time he found himself a job, now he’s got himself back on his feet. Dullagj says he will but he’s busy right now with the whole Emily thing. Janine tells him that his whole life can’t stop for her, that’s what she’s paying the private detective for. Dullagj hears his phone ring and assumes it’s his mother but it’s the private detective who informs him that IanMandy has been charged. Dullagj can’t help but feel IanM’s been made the scapegoat.

Scrabbler tells Bomani that he knows what he did to vaslav and that if he doesn’t leave this vicinity, he’ll come forward as a witness to the attack. Scrabbler doesn’t anticipate Bomani’s reaction. Before he knows it, Bomani has him pinned up against the wall “Vaslav’s got you right where he wants you, you little c*ck sucker. **Bomani squeezes Scrabs’ balls tightly** I didn’t want to have to do this c*ck lover but you’ve left me with no option, you little nancy.” Bomani proceeds to beat Scrabbler.

Duff duff: Bomani breathes heavily, wiping away the spit on his lip as he stands over a still Scrabbler who’s lying scrunched up on the ground trying to protect himself.

How long are you back for this time or are you just here to collect the rest of your stuff?”

21:06 – Dullagj tells Janine that IanMandy has been charged with killing Emily. Janine replies, “That’s good, well you know what I mean. You can begin to put a line under this now and get on with her life, concentrate on keeping yourself on the straight and narrow.” Dullagj nods in agreement saying he hopes they can find out what exactly happened to her and get her a place of rest. Dullagj kisses Janine as he heads out in search of work.

21:08 – Lola_skye wonders where Scrabbler has got to and goes up to valsav’s room to see if he has any clue. Vaslav moans that he doesn’t know, he thinks he went out early this afternoon and he hasn’t heard from him since “He’s probably got some latino toyboy sailor on the go.” Lola_skye closes the door and dials Scrabbler’s number. Scrabbler’s phone begins to vibrate in his pocket, Bomani looks over at him hearing the vibration.

21:11 – Bevis maintains that that was the only secret he was keeping except that he’d rather drink cat pi$$ than Pact Coffee. Dan goes silent as Bevis states that it’s his turn. Dan stutters, “Ehhhhhhh…” Gary stands outside Angie’s Den hoping to wait until dan is alone. Dan proceeds to spill his kept secrets, “I know where the murder weapon is but I haven’t told you and haven’t retrieved it.” Bevis gasps.

21:13 – Sorcha and Maurice are now in the kitchen rowing. Sorcha asks him why he couldn’t talk to her like a real man, there’s no shame in struggling to be a first time dad, is there? It takes everyone a while to get the hang of it. Maurice cries, “It’s not just that though, is it? It’s bringing up another man’s child, it’s having a constant reminder of my dead best friend who betrayed me in the worst way possible.” Sorcha sighs that he knew what he was letting himself in for.

21:15 – Scrabbler gets up as quick as possible and makes a run for the bathroom. Bomani follows swiftly behind and a battle of strength takes place at the bathroom door as Bomani tries to stop Scrabbler from locking himself in. Scrabbler manages to lock the door before falling to the floor having used all his strength.

21:17 – Sharon passes Gary cautiously as she enters her club. Dullagj is on the market and notices Gary acting suspiciously and approaches him. He gives him a fright as he asks him what he’s up to. Gary shouts at him not to do that as dullagj informs him that IanMandy has been charged with killing Emily. Gary gasps, “No they’ve got the wrong person.” Dullagj nods in agreement before looking at him with bewilderment, “So it was you then?” Gary looks at him with anger wondering how he could think so bad of him, dullagj tells him he’s a stalker, stabber and burglar as well as a persistent liar, he wouldn’t put murdering his own sister past him. Dullagj asks who was it then? Gary points at dan’s house….

21:20 – Scrabbler attempts to call an ambulance as he lies holds his ribs on Bomani’s bathroom floor. Bomani is pacing the flat thinking how he’s going to get himself out of this mess. He proceeds to hack a sledgehammer at the bathroom door. It just narrowly misses Scrabbler’s head the first time as he scrambles across the floor in fear. Scrabbler stares at the door in terror as he witnesses a scene that wouldn’t be out of place in a horror movie.

21:22 – Maurice tells sorcha it was never going to work, she never stops talking about the deceased whereas he just wants to forget him “We grieve in different ways but how do you think I feel always coming second best to him, eh? I know if he was still alive, it’d be you three playing happy families.” Priscilla enters with the shopping and gets a surprise to see Maurice, who blanks her. Eddy begins to cry and Sorcha asks if she’ll see to him.

21:24 – Dan tells Bevis that the doorstop is at Dot’s where Gary is staying but he came across it by chance. He was caught by surprise and couldn’t just take it. Bevis says that if the police get their hands on it, they’re dead men walking. Dan assures him that he’ll get back, he can help him. Bevis sighs that he can’t wait until they’re far away from Walford.

21:25 – Dullagj goes into the club to see if Sharon has any jobs going. Gary makes his way over and knocks on dan’s door. Dan pulls back the blind to see who it is. Dan looks back at Bevis saying he’ll never guess who it is, it’s everyone’s favourite bloke, Gary. Gary continues to knock repeatedly on the door.

21:27 – As Priscilla sees to Eddy, Maurice asks sorcha if she wants to know the worst part. Sorcha nods tearfully, “It’s having to live with myself, knowing it’s my fault TK died.” Sorcha gasps.

21:29 - Sharon tells dullagj to leave his name and she'll get back to him. When she looks at his signature, she's shocked to see he's signed his real name as 'Jon Hanley.'

21:30 – Dan answers the door before being confronted by an angry Gary. “I know, I know it was you that killed my sister!!” Gary bursts into dan’s house making Bevis jump.

21:31 – Bomani slowly picks away the panels of the door before dragging Scrabbler out by the hair of his head and throwing him down the front steps of his flat. The ambulance pulls up just in time and one of the paramedics is forced to tackle Bomani to the ground as he tries to make a run for it. An onlooker calls the police.

21:33 - Scrabbler is wheeled into the ambulance, we can see a furious Bomani struggling with the paramedic who is waiting for back-up in the back window of the ambulance.

Duff duff: The camera re-enters the ambulance as it pulls off to Scrabbler, who smiles as he feels happy and relieved to have made it out alive.

EPISODE TWENTY-ONE 71/74:

Sorcha looks up from the floor, her mouth wide open with shock. A look of confusion comes over her face as she thought processes what he just uttered, “What do you mean you killed him? Did you hire them ba$tards that killed him? Did you?” she cries. She does a 180 turn, her head hanging over the kitchen sink, “You make me sick” she spits. A tearful Maurice is the other side, he asks her to let him explain.

Dan laughs in Gary’s face asking if he’s looking to join IanMandy on the mental ward. Gary is shaking with adrenaline, his body pumped with hate for the man who killed his sister, “I know (he laughs); I heard yas, I heard it all. I was in the cubicle when yous were having a row over the urinals.” Bevis slips into the sofa, sick to the pit of his stomach. Dan’s face changes knowing Gary has overheard them, “Prove it!” he spits before lunging at him. Bevis shouts, “Nooooo!”

Scrabbler is wheeled down the hospital corridor as the paramedics fill in the nurses and doctors in on his injuries. Scrabbler is asked a series of mundane questions to make sure his brain is still in working order, the nurses then ask if there’s anyone he’d like them to contact.

Save me
Save me
Save me

It's like I've seen
the light but you
have never known

Jubel plays over club scene.
Dullagj waits on the seat outside the [i]Angie Den[i] office. Sharon stares at his name, flooded with the few memories she has of the time she met her mother. She sits there in a daze wondering about all the family she could have out there and has never met. She goes back out to dullagj and invites him into her office. Ben Dover is serving a customer whilst moving along to the music, “Don’t you just love a little bit of dirty sax?” he flirts.

Maurice cries that at his stag do, TK was pi$$ed and said things he shouldn’t have, wouldn’t have if he was sober. Sorcha demands to know, “I want to know every minute detail!” “He said he was having an affair with a married woman, obviously referring to you as you were as good as married at that point, weren’t you?” Maurice pauses to catch his breath, “I knew at this point so I was seething inside. He then said that his bro was on the run for taking part in a botched robbery, as you know and the gang were placing all the blame on him. So… I…..I rang the police on his bro as revenge.” Sorcha looks at him with tear-filled eyes.

Bevis has to drag dan off Gary. Gary tries to pick himself up off the carpet, rubbing his bloodied lip. Bevis pins dan against the wall, his hands pressed on his cheeks; one hand on each cheek as they stand face to face “I don’t want any more blood on my hands. Let’s talk this out like adults.” Gary’s now on his feet once more, “Is that what you did to my sister? Is it? …………Is that where she was murdered? **points at carpet**?” Dan warns Bevis not to get in the way and goes for Gary once more, Gary shouting that he’s not afraid of him.

Lola_skye is sitting in the living room flicking through the gazillion channels they have, nothing worth watching on any of them. Scrabbler’s dinner can be seen covered in tin foil in the far distance, sitting on the bench beside the microwave. Skye’s phone begins to vibrate and she’s alarmed when it’s the hospital. Scrabbler’s aghast to see Sonia on the ward.

I'm slowly drifting away (drifting away)
Wave after wave, wave after wave
I'm slowly drifting (drifting away)
And it feels like I'm drowning
Pulling against the stream
Pulling against the stream

I wish I could make it easy
Easy to love me, love me
But still I reach, to find a way
I'm stuck here in between
I'm looking for the right words to say

Mr. Probz can be heard in the background.
Sharon begins to interview dullagj wanting to know more about him. He tells her he hasn’t got much bar experience but is a quick learner and if she gives him the chance, he won’t let her down. Talk soon turns to his drug abuse but he assures her that’s in the past now and the methadone programme is keeping him on the straight and narrow. Sharon points again at the sheet where he wrote his name and contact number and says that she’ll get back to him. Dullagj thanks her for her time and heads home.

Sorcha pulls out a kitchen chair and sits down, unable to stand up any longer. She looks at Maurice and then looks away, staring pensively at the kitchen wall. Maurice cries that he never meant for him to get killed, he hated him but he didn’t want him dead. Sorcha continues to look at the wall, “I can’t even look at you” she sniffs. Priscilla comes down the stairs when she hears a loud bang in the kitchen. By the time she gets to the bottom of the stairs, she sees sorcha continuously throwing plates against the wall before she begins to scream in Maurice’s face that she hates him and wishes she never got with him. Priscilla hears Eddy crying again and decides to leave them to it. Maurice tries to say that they obviously mistook him for NeX. Sorcha turns around to him with a look of disbelief, “Is that what you tell yourself to get off to sleep at night? Is it? GET OUT OF MY HOUSE….TK’S HOUSE…!” Maurice spits at her that he’d still be alive if she wasn’t such a slut. Sorcha shouts back that she wishes it was him that got shot. Maurice slams the door. Sorcha falls to the floor sobbing uncontrollably.

Dan does a quick check of Gary to make sure he’s not got any recording devices on him, joking that EastEnders has taught him not to take any risks in that department even though it wouldn’t stand up in court. Gary asks him why he did it, “Well at least I know she wasn’t raped as you prefer sausage surprise to fish pie but what was so bad that you had to kill her? Eh?” he begins to weep. Dan sits down on the sofa and offers Gary to take a seat opposite him, “Sit down and I’ll explain myself.”

Vaslav can’t believe what he’s hearing squealing that Scrabbler is his hero. Skye tells him to get ready, they’re going to the hospital to see him. Vaslav looks out the window still fearing the outside despite Bomani being seen to. Vas says they should wait until morning, it’d be a waste of time going now. Skye reluctantly agrees and decides to phone Angelic P. to see if she’s heard about the attack. Vaslav gulps as he closes the room door.

Sharon arrives home after a long night’s work. As she enters the bedroom, she kicks off her heels and takes off her earrings. She sees Phil lying asleep outside the covers, still in his clothes. He wakens when she puts on the night light. Sharon asks how he’s feeling, Phil quips that he’s sick of her asking him that before apologising. Sharon tells him he can talk to her, he doesn’t need to bottle it up. Phil sighs he’s just worried about the treatments and the affects it’ll have on him. Sharon assures him that she’ll be with him every step of the way but they need to take this one day at a time.

Dan tells Gary that he doesn’t know what Emily was like, she was a Cretan. Bevis corrects him, “Cretin.” "She was trolling and threatening us, then she showed up at my door and kept me captive. She e-mailed a load of posters to come over that night with the view to holding them hostage." Gary laughs that his baby sis would never kill anyone. Dan replies that he obviously doesn’t know his sister then, “I escaped and bludgeoned her over the head. I didn’t mean to kill her. I just wanted to knock her out….it was an accident.” Gary laughs again, “So that makes it alright then, does it? In the CCTV footage it was IanMandy being aggressive, not her and she obviously came here afterwards…..what did you do with her body?” Dan looks at Bevis. Dan stutters, they’ll not be disclosing that information. Gary informs them that IanMandy has been charged, Bevis gasps. “I hope yous can live with yourselves but don’t think this is the end of it. You are going down for this, even if I have to die trying.” Gary leaves the house swiftly. Dan goes as if to drag him back in but Bevis holds him back.

Duff duff: Gary walks off into the night.

Ah, that's a compliment and a half. That'd have to be a DS Enders LATER episode.

EPISODE TWENTY-TWO 72/74:

Bevis sees that dan has gone back to the house for his mid-morning break and asks Winston to mind his stall for 15 minutes. Making his way back to the house, RedHood rubs his hand at him as if to signal that his next payment is due. Bevis nods back at him. Dan rolls his eyes at Bevis when he walks in, “You got me, Gary’s gagged in the wardrobe upstairs.” Bevis asks what they’re going to do about the Gary problem. Dan replies, “Ignore him, he’s got no proof.”

Priscilla’s in the living room giving Eddy his morning feed. Wanting to take sorcha’s mind off recent problems, she rings Reverend Stevens to call round later to organise a date for the christening. Hearing a knock on the door, she pulls back the blind to see who it is, it’s Maurice.

Dullagj’s back from his methadone appointment and gleefully informs Janine that his dosage has been lowered. Janine says that’s great. Dullagj asks if there’s any missed calls on his phone he left charging. Janine says she didn’t hear it ring before heading off to meet a client. Dullagj goes to the Laundrette with his washing and is surprised when Dot informs him that Gary didn’t come home last night.

Vaslav is reluctant to leave the house stating that he doesn’t like hospitals, they just evoke bad memories in him. Skye says he has to go, “Scrabbler wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for you. He was getting rid of YOUR problem. Bomani’s been put away, you’ve nothing to fear now.” The cab horn honks outside, Skye tells him to come on. Vaslav takes a deep breath but as he goes to leave the house, he clutches onto the doorframe struggling to breath. Skye takes his hand and escorts him to the cab, vaslav visibly shaken.

Also tonight, Ken and nicnacs wait until the coast is clear before entering his house only to discover the locks have been changed. O…O is furious with Keyser when he lets her pussy escape ‘accidentally’, will she find her? Talk turns to Maurice at Zack’s flat when he leaves. Linda sets about making her house her own, will the newly painted pink door go down well?

Bevis states that they can’t just let IanMandy rot for something he didn’t do. Dan, “He doesn’t know that though, does he? He’s a danger to society anyway, who in their right mind stabs themselves?” Bevis fumes at him, “Do you know what they’ll do with him? They’ll probably stick him in Broadmoor with all the psychopaths. What do you think that’ll do to him? I don’t want any more blood on my hands, especially not a mentally ill young boy. I mean he’s only nineteen.” Dan says he’s got to get back to his stall, he was supposed to be back 5 minutes ago.

Priscilla opens the door at an acute angle to Maurice, peering her head around the door. Maurice says he needs to talk to sorcha. Priscilla disagrees stating that’s not a good idea, they need to let the dust settle after last night’s argument. Priscilla closes the door, sorcha asking who it was. Priscilla lies that it was a Jehovah’s Witness and goes to the kitchen. She squeals when she stands on some broken plate from last night, sorcha sighs that Blue got her them plates as a wedding present. Hearing another knock on the door, Priscilla almost trips as she runs to answer it. (afraid it’s Maurice again) She’s happy to see its Rev. Stevens.

Scrabbler’s happy to see some friendly faces. Vaslav gives him a big hug and a peck on the cheek stating he shouldn’t have put himself in such a dangerous situation. Scrabbler laughs that he’s one to talk. Scrabbler begins to talk about the hot doctor who’s looking after him, “Brings me back to the days of ER and George Clooney. He was feeling me everywhere, good job he didn’t pull back the blankets or he woulda got a big surprise. If I find out he does the bed baths, I’ll have to feign some back injuries.” Vaslav looks on jealousy wanting to know what time the doctor will be round. Skye asks if Angie has been up. Scrabbler says she’s busy steering the EastEnders ship, “Bad news is, Sonia’s doing the rounds. I had to fob her off earlier, I’m not letting her near me and she’s got a bad case of halitosis, ugh!”

Dullagj tries to ring his brother, Gary, as he heads to los.kav’s official opening. He embraces vald on seeing her, jokingly calling her ‘mum.’ Toni and los.kav are busy putting the final touches to the place, the whole market gathering outside. Los thanks Toni for all her help, giving her a peck on the cheek. Dullagj sees Sharon in the crowd and approaches her, asking if she’s come to a decision. He’s a bit thrown when she asks if he’ll clean the club but he agrees, happy to have finally secured some form of employment.

Bevis is on edge in the crowd afraid Gary will pop up, he’s confused that dan doesn’t appear to have a care in the world. Maurice joins Klen and Zack, asking if he can stay at theirs for another few nights. Zack agrees, feeling unable to decline. Klen jokes it’s a rite of passage that everyone sleeps in Zack’s place at some point. Some of the Carters appear at the back as vald asks for hush. Los.kav emerges with his scissors ready to cut the red ribbon.

One less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less problem without ya
I got one less, one less problem
One less problem without ya

Priscilla lets the reverend in. He looks at her as loud music begins to emit from the kitchen. Pushing back the door, they stand and stare as sorcha unwittingly gives it welly to the song, busting all her best moves whilst singing ‘One less problem without you.’ Sorcha’s face swiftly turns cherry red in embarrassment when she turns around to see the vicar standing there. When he leaves, she nudges Priscilla for not telling her but she’s glad that they’ve finally arranged a date for the christening. Sorcha takes the opportunity to ask Priscilla to be Godmother, Priscilla squeals with delight giving sorcha a tight hug before doing a wee jump in the air.

Scrabbler thanks Skye and vaslav for calling in to him joking that it might be the last time they see him if Sonia has her way. Skye suggests they get the bus home but vas says he’d prefer a cab. Waiting for an available cab, vaslav says that should be him lying in that hospital bed. Skye tells him to stop being stupid. Vaslav ponders the dangers that lie beyond his front door, “I don’t feel safe anymore. There’s so much danger out there.” Skye’s brow furrows.

Los.kav thanks everyone for their continued support before cutting the ribbon. Vald is tearful as she sees how happy he is. Los.kav states that he hopes this can become a place where people who are down in their luck can sleep safely in warmth and comfort and get some food in their bellies as well as them being able to help them. There’s cheers as Toni pops the bubbly. Max quips it better have been in the fridge. Bevis sees dullagj, who is watching him and dan closely. He asks him where his brother’s got to, dullagj says he didn’t come home last night “Probably copped off with someone knowing him.”

Duff duff: A shocked Bevis face.

COMING THURSDAY:
Spoiler
- Bevis doesn’t know what or who to believe.
- Another shock for Sharon.
- Scrabbler is discharged, is it too soon?
- Mona’s on a mission.

EPISODE TWENTY-THREE 73/74:

Bevis comes out of the bedroom to an empty house. Dan strolls in the door with a carton of milk. He whistles as he goes to the kitchen and pours it over his cereal. Bevis watches him curiously before dan greets him Good Morning. Bevis doesn’t reply. Dan goes over to the table and sits down, opening the Saturday paper. Bevis is now free the roam the kitchen. He sees they’re out of bread and sighs that he’s going for a shower. Dan hears him but his head is buried in the Saturday mag on the pages containing an exclusive interview with EastEnders EP, Scrabbler. (before his attack)

It’s over a week now since Gary’s been seen on the Square and Dullagj’s worried. He goes to Angie’s Den to clean the bogs wanting to get his shift over and done with early. He’s surprised to see Sharon there sorting out an order, “No rest for the wicked” she says. She can see something’s troubling him and he pours out his heart to her. Sharon’s visibly touched knowing that was her sister who was murdered and her brother who is now missing, she goes to question him on his mother but he clams up. She orders him to take the day off saying he won’t be able to rest until he’s found still not 100% sure whether he's her real mum's son or not.

Sonia tells Scrabbler that they’re hopeful he’ll be allowed home today, they’re just waiting on the doctor’s go ahead who should be round in an hour or so. Scrabbler sighs, “I was told that two days ago, you know and I’m still cooped up in ‘ere. I’ve a flagship show to run.” **rolls eyes, offers her a mint but she declines** Sonia assures him he will be before remembering his face from the fundraiser, “You fell over in that chair race, didn’t ya.” Scrabbler smiles through gritted teeth. Sonia’s matron passes and gives out to her for yapping, Sonia replies that she’s just doing this ward now.

Sharon decides to take a break from the club realising it can wait. A hungover Shirley is sitting outside the pub with her sunglasses smoking a fag and pretends not to see her. Dot sees Sharon and greets her, telling her that she prays for Philip every day. Sharon is clearly grateful and says she’ll be round later, “I hear that lodger of yours has done a bunk.” Mona comes out to collect the glasses. Seeing Shirley staring at Sharon, she states that slapping that bimbo comes second only to spending time with her. Shirl snipes at her for clattering the glasses. Mona states she needs to talk to Phil before re-entering the pub.

Also tonight, Ken breaks down in nicnacs arms saying he can’t face his wife. O…O is still searching for her pussy but Keyser is busy in Ronnie’s checking out the talent mainly Ronnie’s breasts. Sorcha and Priscilla are busy putting the finishing touches to Eddy’s christening. Klendathu writes down his number for Dot so she can call him or send him a text letter any time.

Dan asks Bevis what his problem is. He’s been off with him all week. Bevis asks him outright what he did with Gary saying he hasn’t been seen since entering their flat a week ago, “See a pattern emerging here? So will the police!” Dan smiles, leading Bevis to get a sick feeling in his stomach, “You didn’t, did you? Please….say…” Dan interrupts him, “This is the perfect chance to get the doorstop.” Bevis is more bemused now, “You went out to the Minute Mart that night after he left. Just tell me you didn’t do anything stupid.” Dan laughs, “I swear on my mother’s life I didn’t go near him. The last time I saw him, he was walking out that door.” Bevis hears the words but he doesn’t know whether to believe them. “Why are you so happy then? He could dob us in any time!” Dan kisses him laughing he’s no proof before receiving a call supposedly from his Pact Coffee manager.

Dullagj calls to Zack’s flat asking if any of them have seen or heard from Gary this past week. Zack lets him in and asks him to wait on Klen who should be back in a few minutes. He, Lauren nor Maurice have seen him. Dullagj begins to break down as he remembers the last time he saw him and their turbulent relationship before asking what they think of dan, “That night he said he was going to confront dan having overheard him say that he killed our sister at Toni’s birthday party. He was rowing with Bevis in the toilets.” Zack gasps, “No…dan’s no killer. Are you sure he wasn’t just re-enacting a classic Enders scene?” Dullagj shakes his head telling them it’s all too much of a coincidence, “Aren’t you guys friends of IanMandy? Yet none of you seem to care he’s been locked up for murder. Do you think he’s a murderer or is it more understandable cos he’s schizophrenic?” *Klen walks in having just visited Dot*

Sharon finds Jay looking after Denny in the living room. He informs her that Phil’s still in bed, Ronnie’s at work and Roxy has gone to the park with Amy. Sharon makes her way up the stairs and pulls the curtains in their bedroom. Phil squints at the light, squealing that she’s already turning into his mother and he hasn’t even started the treatment yet. Sharon bulges her eyes at him saying it’s not like him to lie in bed until this hour and she was just giving him a bit of motivation before sitting down on the bed beside him, “That ex of yours was sitting outside my dad’s pub hungover and smoking. I wouldn’t like to be her liver or lungs. She’ll only have herself to blame if she gets cancer.” Phil’s mouth opens in disbelief that she’s just said that, “What and I haven’t done any bad things in my time?”

Shirley is no state to be running the bar and instead sits with her feet up ordering Tracey around. Mona continues to pester her about Phil saying it’s her he needs at a time like this not snooty Sharon. Shirley wallows in self-pity stating when the going gets tough, she gets going. Mona shakes her head, “You helped him through his alcohol and crack addictions. Where was Sharon? She was probs popping pills somewhere.” Shirley says that sex was the core of her relationship with Phil, “He’s not going to be up for that now. I need to find myself a toy boy.” Mona looks on in horror.

Sorcha’s run out of nappies and asks Priscilla to mind Eddy while she pops out. Cilla’s hesitant afraid she’ll bump into Maurice but Sorcha insists stating she can't be a prisoner in her own home and has no intention of airing her dirty linen in public. Leaving the house, she sees Scrabbler paying a cabbie. His bag of belongings beside him. Sorcha says it’s good to see him joking he’s used 2 of his 9 lives now. Scrabbler sighs that he can’t wait to get back into his own home and sleep in his own bed. Sorcha takes his bag for him before asking if he’d like to be Eddy’s Godfather. Scrabbler is surprised but agrees promptly. He tries to hug her but his back is still a bit sore. Sorcha leaves happy she’s got another important part sorted.

Dan takes the call outside making Bevis all the more paranoid. 10 minutes later, dan comes back to resume the conversation like he’s just pressed pause on Bevis’ life. Bevis demands to know who he’s been calling, dan reiterates it was his manager. Bevis pretends to believe him before swiping the phone off him. Dan tries to take it back off him but is unsuccessful, his hands waving around like a demented seal. Bevis checks his logs and sees the name, ‘Mick’ but he knows that’s not his manager’s name. Bevis asks who Mick is, the cogs turning in his brain. Dan remains mute. “Are you having it off with Stinky Carter’s brother?” Dan bursts out laughing, “’No, I’ve organised an engagement party for us tomorrow night at The Gutter, I wanted it to be a surprise but..” Bevis stands still in embarrassment before leaping on him …

Zack speaks for the group stating they want IanMandy to get the help he needs, “We didn’t think he was a killer, he was distant at times but he didn’t come across as a murderer. But he stabbed himself, he’s ill. Who’s to say what he was capable in that state of mind?” Klendathu buts in that sometimes you don’t have a clue what’s going on in someone’s head, Maurice sighing in agreement that things can be going on right under your nose and you don’t see them. Lauren adds you can do things in the heat of the moment and live to regret them, doesn’t necessarily make you're a bad person. Dullagj takes a deep breath, feeling like he’s wasting his breath. He asks them to keep their eyes peeled and get in touch with him if they do see, hear or find something that may be of use, thanking them for their time.

Sharon and Phil are lying up watching telly. His words from earlier still playing on her mind, she attempts to ease his worries “You know, not everyone gets a warning. My dad, Tom, Pauline, Dennis…....Dennis would have been 40 this year if he was still alive. He never even got to meet his son. You’ve got a chance to fight this, you need to grab it with both hands.” Phil remains quiet and she turns around to see him teary eyed. She touches his face stating she didn’t want to upset him, she just wanted to show him that he could’ve been dealt a worse hand. Phil pushes her off him abruptly leading to Sharon staggering upwards abruptly as not to fall on the ground. “I’ve done bad things alright.....things that I’m not proud of…… you reap what you sow and all that.” “Like what, Phil?” Sharon pouts. “I told Dennis that Johnny threatened you the night he was murdered. I didn’t want you to go…..I never meant for him to die.” he cries.
