Can't be bothered going back in the thread but I did say Kittel would win at around midday just as the race was starting.........

Cav does have a habit of falling off in the last few hundred metres........a lot more than the other sprinters
Looked like a collar bone........he's probably out of the Tour |

Froome did well to miss the fall, and get in with the main pack.

Shame about Cavendish - he always seem to crash in the early sprints of the Tour.
Kittel wins but it was a shame that neither Cavendish nor Grippel were there to make it a real sprint finish. Where did Grippel go? Hope he can over that injury but it looks bad. |

Fabian Cancellara took everyone by surprise there. Overtaken 250- 300 from the line, good move off that uphill stretch.

That looks like Cav shoved Simon Gerrans out of the road.

Looked a hard finish, uphill. my Initial reaction was that Cav didn't look like he was going to be close at the end. Have to say it looked like cav was leaning on to gerrans.
I bet Sagan to win green, so that's a great start for me. |

Has Marcel Kittel got yellow and green? How many points were there for the finish?

Seems to be that both Gerrand and Cavendish were leaning on each other, and then the rider on the left also leant on in Gerrans. Which meant no where for Gerrans to go.
Very unfortunate in any case for Cavendish. |

Cav is pretty small for a sprinter and I wonder if the bigger guys bully him and he has to push and shove and lean on people otherwise they'll swamp him
maybe that's why he crashes so often in the final....... |

don't know if it's me but the commentary on this is awful. They hardly seem to have done any homework on Yorkshire, but also this guy comes across as really patronising, like no one would ever know much about Yorkshire

Sherwin and liggett. I am sure phil liggett just reads bits out of a green Michelin guide. Maybe the tdf issue a commentary pack sort of thing. You will get used to it.

Yep. Reverting to type. Don't wish a broken collarbone on anyone but clearly his fault. Gerrans' road and ahead and Cavendish veers and leans on him. Hope the other riders are OK.
Not according to Eurosport. |

45 pts for the winner of a "flat" stage. Less points are awarded for Medium/High Mountain stages, in order to give sprinters a chance to win the Green Jersey. |

So will Sagan wear the green jersey or the white one tomorrow? Assume green.
