Fantastic that they picked such a glamorous spot for today's finishing line.

I'm trying to picture where it is. When they showed Jill Douglas at the line with the Slovakians, it looked nothing like where I remembered near Meadowhall.

Nah, that's only the KOM point the finish is further on.

Yeah, I just checked it out on google streetview. Brutal climb but, yes, the finish itself as further along.

I'd like Simon Gerrans to win today to make up for his accident yesterday.

Poor Netapp guy, picked up a ton-weight of bottles just as the climb started.

That Jenkin Road climb has got Sagan's name written all over it (or, dare I say it, Tiernan-Locke, were he not suspended currently).

There's a map on the official TdF site which you can zoom in to see exactly where the KoM and finish are:

It's not at Meadowhall the shopping centre, it's on the road towards the city centre that goes past Meadowhall Retail Park, and stops pretty much outside Sheffield (Motorpoint) Arena...

Yeah which is a pretty big dual-carriage road (isn't it?) but it looked tiny with Jill Douglas. Maybe she wasn't at the finish.

As far as I can judge from the TdF map, this is the finish in StreetView, looking in the opposite direction to that the riders will take. But I don't know Sheffield so I bow to any superior knowledge that someone else might have.

Something up with Sagan, not a good time to be off the back.

Lucky we are not passing through Liverpool, that bike would have been long gone.

Now that the breakaways are almost caught, what price a Jens attack for the KoM points?

Do you think the people carrying the Isle Of Man flag have heard the news?

Tinkoff looking a bit feeble, if they can't get up a Cat3 in Yorkshire they're not going to be much use to Contador in the Alps.

They were useless in the Dauphiné when Alberto was off at the front chasing Froome.

Van Avermaet would be a good bet.

The three main ones all completed the giro. Odd choices.
