not much interest ?

Queen stage in Catalunya today with 3 category one climbs and a mountain top finish

Rolland in the leaders jersey with a minute or so to spare and with the main pre-race favourites about 2 to 3 minutes back

Froome didn't look 100% yesterday

After the first 2 days with hardly any pictures we did get full coverage yesterday so touch wood for pictures today.......particularly as they are up above the snow line at various points

I enjoyed today's stage despite the woeful efforts of the broadcasters. It wasn't the most exciting climb in the world but it was good to see a bit of attacking. Porte looked good, but more importantly Sky looked good, far better than Tinkov who are clearly suffering from the management/megalomaniac owner issues.

Froome finishing almost half an hour down kind of makes me wonder why he bothered to keep going. If he's that unwell this can't be doing him much good. Should rest and recover, plenty of time to build form again before the tour

Finally, impressive stuff from Teejay to get the win today after going over the guard rails yesterday, that's a hell of a recovery.

First major one day race win for Thomas at E3 today from a classy trio. Sagan struggling to find top form and clearly not as lean as the others. After a strong showing at MSR, Sky say Thomas will be their protected rider at the upcoming Gent-Wevelgem and the Tour of Flanders.

First Boonen, and now Cancellara out of the spring classics due to crash injuries. Both are 34 and do not have many more competitive seasons left.

Thomas is looking like a genuine contender for a monument now. So strong today and great tactics too. Wiggins might have competition for Paris Roubaix at this point!

I'm not sure what's up with Sagan. Part of me thinks he's enjoying the lifestyle his new lucrative contract has provided a bit to much and his been living it up on the beer in Monaco (who could blame him?) at the expense of training. Another part of me thinks that Tinkov Saxo is clearly not a fun or productive place to be right now and the whole team is going to pay the price.

I thought last year that he was having trouble because the opposition had worked out how to counter his tactics, but he is definitely not the rider he was two years ago.

Looks bad for Cancellara, but this is the injury Ian Stannard came back from last year.

A 'feast' of cycling on Eurosport today

11.45 ES1 - Final stage of Catalunya features laps around Barcelona with 8 climbs of Mont Juic. Richie Porte is in the leaders jersey for Sky

2.30 ES1 - Day 2 of Criterium International from Corsica. Split day means this is stage 3 today. No Sky team involved

1.15 ES2 - Gent Wevelgem. Sky have got Thomas, Wiggins, Viviani. he race is usually won by a tough sprinter like Boonen when he was younger, Degenkolb, Sagan, Hushovd......that kind of rider. The favourites would appear to be Degenkolb who won it last year, Kristoff, Sagan if he's on a going day, and Cav ?.......but there's plenty of Classics riders who might upset the sprinters

Not a lot happening in Catalunya but it sounds exciting in Gwent with high winds and rain. Several crashes already including Cavandish. Coverage starts at 13:15 and is going to be well worth watching Ii think.

Yep, grisly conditions in the Gent-Bubblegum - it's going to be a hard man's day.

Woah, maximum respect from the breakaway group for Geraint Thomas! After he fell, they all waited for him to get back on. They knew they needed him for the chase.

Sagan is at the front of what remains of the peleton, now over four minutes back from the leader. Oleg Tinkov is not going to be happy. lol.

Cycling News reports the average pace of 36 kph. Another hour and twenty go at that speed. No reports on the gap back to the second peloton with the sprint teams to see the likelihood of fatigue forcing a regrouping.

Even I can average 36kph! (but not in those winds )

Looks like the peloton have given up.........

One man out front then 2 minutes to the Thomas group of 7 (?) riders then the peloton falling further and further behind

you'd expect the winner to come from the Thomas group

I think if the chasing group don't take at least a minute off the leader over the next 10k, Roelandts could actually win this.

his lead has suddenly crashed by 30 seconds in the space of a few kilometres

gargantuan performance.......but he looks vulnerable now if the chasers get their act together
Devvi_Doyle

Now they've taken a minute off, in about 8k. I think they will catch him easily now.

yeah.......doesn't it just show how thin the line is between 'victory' and 'not victory'......

several of them had a little go at getting off the front......several times

Paolini might have been the 12th or the 18th attempt........but he gets 30 yards, the others look at each other and it's all over !

That could have happened with any attempt of any of the riders.......it just so happened to be on that one and Paolini wins.......

Great race. Got to think EQS really messed that up though, refusing to chase Paolini when there was two of them in the group.

All credit to Paolini for taking the opportunity and powering on to the line. EQS gave him too much rope in trying to force Thomas to follow.

It is confirmed Riis and Tinkov parted company (the reasons to remain secret). The new Tinkov-Saxo sports director was not announced. It will probably someone who will not say No to Oleg when he demands the team chase every move: http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/...rt-ways_364894

How long Saxo will remain on the shirt, now their Dane has gone, is not clear.

Saxo are apparently staying until the end of the season. This looks like a very bad season for Contador. Think he will struggle to win the Giro never mind the Giro/TDF double. The team is a mess and he was supposedly close to Riis. It's not just the TEAM's race day tactics but the training, the organisation, the interpersonal relationships - it's all going up the creek, IMO.

oh bummer........completely forgot the '3 days of the Panne' race today even though it was on my To Do list........

recorded highlights are coming on shortly.......

remembered to put it on today.......

big slab of live action as we joined the race with over a 100K to go

there's a group with a 7 minute lead and some crosswinds ........could be an exciting stage, as indeed was yesterday
