I think Griepel got the green jersey off Sagan at the Intermediate and Sagan took it back again at the finish

Pure sprinters didn't have a chance on that finish

World champion Kwiatkowski's agent confirms his move to Sky 'likely': http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/...o-learn_378579

Peraud thanked tour medical staff for their assistance yesterday and a more cynically thanked the cameraman for protecting his 'privacy'. Looked like he could star in a Rihanna video.

Grest win for Steve Cummings!

Yes Steve Cummings!!!!!!! Pinot Noir!!!

Well well, that was a great bluff by Cummings, who looked to be struggling earlier on the climb. Great to see MTN Qhubeka having their moment - on Mandela Day, no less (and a third GB stage win too).

-----

Come to think of it, he was hanging at the back of the breakaway so he had energy to spare when the chips were down.

Not such a good day for Geraint T, think he'll drop down quite a bit, don't know where he is now.

OK, not so bad, came in the group behind TJvG.

Quintana somewhat exposed here. As Froome said earlier in the week, Quintana attacks, but his attacks aren't explosive enough to cause any worry to Froome, really.

Froome would need to have a off day for Quintana to slip away.

The last GT stage win for Cummings was in the Vuelta 2012.

Pinot and his FDJ teammate were doing more than their fair share of work in the break according to the telemetry stats. Probably cost him on the final climb.

New provisional GC has 104 seconds between second and sixth: Quintana, TvG, Valverde, Contador and Thomas.

Disgusted to hear from Chris Froome that a spectator threw a cup of piss in his face today. Pure scum.

I'm surprised incidents aren't more common, the cyclists seem to have no protection whatsoever.

Lance Armstrong has a lot to answer for.

He does, in a lot of ways. A lot of folk missed the boat with Armstrong and those on what forums were around then, who were insisting he was doping (and some had some serious threats) will remind of it regularly. Fair enough, I may have done the same, but we now have a generation of armchair investigators, who seem to get a stiffy out of the thought of being able to call themselves the Froome or Sky exposers.

I'm no great fan of either, more so Sky who haven't always helped themselves with this sort of thing, but it is pretty abhorrent stuff they are receiving and not a lot of substance to most of it. Nearly all GTs have been won at a canter of late.

More importantly, well done Cummings. One of the best stage wins this Tour. He was way down the list of likely winners from the breakaway.

It is a farce that the crowds can get so close to the riders, and can wave flags and touch the riders, there should be some way to control the crowds, be it barriers, or whatnot to make sure things like this just does not happen.

In what other sport is it acceptable to almost interfere with the race, and the riders (you see some of them actually touching or pushing the riders!)?

Something needs to be done to stop this sort of nonsense.

Chapeau Steve Cummings !

Another Brit to win a grand tour stage........it even looked at one time as though Simon Yates might win

The logistics of putting barriers all the way up the Col deTourmalet would make it impossible, but a few arrests would help. There's barely a stage that goes by without some nutter interfering in some way and you only see a tiny fraction on TV eg never the bus with the sprinters. No reason this guy today couldn't be arrested.

Clearly the person that threw it is a complete f*cking moron who just believes everything he hears or reads and is incapable of making up his own mind, sad really.

I really hope the offender to Froome is caught and severely punished - no room in sport for this type of action

You try putting barriers and policing 200km of roads and let me know how it goes.

Well something has to be done, if barriers are not the answer, something has to be!

You cannot keep on allowing things like this to go on, it is unfair for the rider.

We all want the best race possible, and that means seeing the riders do their thing, without members of the public getting themselves involved in the race.

How often do we see them going up a hill, or a high gradient climb, one at a time because there are fans or members of the public on the road itself, putting flags in the riders faces, running up beside them, shouting Lord only knows what, and actually pushing them!

This should not be allowed, the tour should find a way, to make sure that this is a race where the riders feel safe, and can ride without worrying about having urine thrown on them, being spat at, and everything else that at the moment, the so called fans cam do without getting into any trouble whatsoever.

Just because this is how it has been for a very long while now, does not mean that it should stay this way.

Whats your suggestion then? The only solutions I can see are barriers which just isn't feasible or banning spectators.
