Junior Women start at 3.00pm

Abby-Mae Parkinson and Elizabeth Holden going for GB

Men's U23 start at 4.30pm

Owain Doull and Scott Davies going for GB

ES coverage due to start at 4.20 so it doesn't look like they covering the 'girls' race..........there doesn't even appear to be any highlights later on

A full list of broadcast intervals is available on the UCI website; unlike last year, there is absolutely no live coverage of the junior events whatsoever.

Whoops, forgot BMC didn't medal in 2013.

Back to today - Cyclingnews did a Q&A session with Mullen.

Are the time trials on the BBC - be interesting to see who wins without Wiggins there and Martin not in great form/fitness.

BBC Schedule here

The BBC only covering the elite events; Eurosport are also covering the U23 events.

More success for the host nation - Chloe Dygert and Emma White made it a 1-2 for USA in the junior women's ITT! Anna-Leeza Hull (AUS) won her second straight bronze, just ahead of last year's runner up Pernille Mathiesen (DEN).

Abby-Mae Parkinson and Elizabeth Holden were 24th / 32nd respectively.

He seemed to be in fairly good nick yesterday, and the long distance suits him more than it does Dennis / Dumoulin; that said, the former has the best fitness, so he or Martin will win on Wednesday.

I don't know if the results have been adjusted recently, but it looks like the two Brits were actually 23rd / 31st.

Geez, this men's u-23 is over-running! Started off watching the recording, it's now ran out and there's still people starting!

Bet the Danish guy is wishing he'd brought his iPad alone.

rain could scupper all the later starters

the lad Schmidt can win this despite going off near the beginning

team time trials are a lot more interesting than individual.......obviously there's a lot more tactics and strategy involved............3 days of time trials could stretch the enthusiasm a bit........

That's because Eurosport probably wasn't expecting the UCI to divide the startlist into 5 waves, with 30-minute breaks in-between!

Scotson would have been very close (either side) without that damn mechanical.

Looking like a good fortnight for Owen Doull then, podium in the Tour of Britain, 5th here. Too bad for the Norwegian, had been sitting in the box for hours at that point only to have the bronze snatched by the last man.

Mads Würtz Schmidt (DEN) wins the men's U23 ITT, four years after winning the junior men's ITT; Maximilian Schachmann and 19 y/o (!) Lennard Kämna make it a GER 2-3.

Mullen hoped for much better than 11th, and Davies could only manage 34th (he also did better last year). Great ride by Doull to finish in the top 5.

Scotson's mech also means it's the first podium in this discipline without an Australian since 2007!

The start lists for the remaining ITT have been made available. Tomorrow, it's the turn of the junior men and elite women; both groups will start in waves as well.

Regarding the latter, can anyone topple defending champion Brennauer? She has been in great form this year, and the Germans also have a dark horse in Kröger. The Netherlands boasts two strong rivals in van der Breggen (winner of the Giro Rosa) and van Dijk (2013 champion).

Furthermore, Olympic berths are up for grabs over the next two days - 1 each will be awarded to the top 10 nations in the women's & men's elite ITT. However, those berths can only be used by riders competing in the Olympic road races, and the qualification requirements for those are shown on this Wiki page.

Keep an eye out for Olympic champion Armstrong (not the infamous one!), who is a strong bet for a medal in the elite women's ITT.

just a reminder that the Elite Women's TT is also live on the BBC Red Button.......no adverts, no Carlton........

Was just looking at the schedule for the Track World Cup this winter - very strange timetable for a pre-Olympic year!

30 Oct-1 November - Cali, Columbia
5-6 December - Cambridge, New Zealand
16-17 January - Hong Kong

World Champs are in London, but it looks like all our teams are going to have at least one long journey to make....
Edward_Sloley
22-09-2015
Leo Appelt (GER) wins the junior men's ITT in a time that would have earned him 4th place in the U23 equivalent! There's more success for the hosts too as Adrien Costa and Brandon McNulty make it a 2-3 for the USA; indeed the former also won silver last year.

Women are off..........Simon Brotherton and Chris Boardman doing the chatting on BBC

I think if I read the timings right the last girl doesn't go until 10.00pm so it could be a long night or more likely a dip in and dip out job

Also available on YouTube's UCI Channel.

Interesting interview with Armitstead about losing out on Sunday and prospects for Saturday (as well as the women's race scene in general): http://aca.st/25c3dc

If you're watching on Eurosport, you'll have the pleasure of listening to Michael Hutchinson talking about what he knows best.

Armstrong catches her 90-second woman before the halfway point!

21:00 for the last rider, I make it.

Armstrong completes her race - she will be in the hot seat for a long time. Everyone will have taken note of that ride, even Brennauer.

Since Germany can boast the defending and European U23 champions, they have four riders in the field.
Edward_Sloley
22-09-2015
Armstrong's two laps were ridden in about the same time, which suggests her pacing was close to perfection. Doesn't look like van Dijk will topple Armstrong; 23 seconds at the halfway point is a big deficit to overturn.
Simmonds is now on the course.
Edward_Sloley
22-09-2015
In the end, van Dijk finished over half a minute behind Armstrong! Early days yet, but the fact that it raised a smile from the leader was quite telling...

Crossover moment - accomplished speed skater Sablikova is on the course!

According to José Been, the conditions are getting worse for the late starters.
Edward_Sloley
22-09-2015
Sablikova seems to be riding a huge gear.

Simmonds finishes 8th provisionally, with 21 riders to finish after her I believe.

Brennauer has left the starthouse, so all competitors are either on the move or have finished. Villumsen rode a fast first sector.

-----

Villumsen is the fastest by 10 seconds at the halfway point! Garfoot is also riding a fast first half, about level-pegging with Armstrong.
Edward_Sloley
22-09-2015
Brennauer is 14 seconds behind Villumsen at the halfway point. It's between Villumsen, van der Breggen, Stevens, Garfoot, Brennauer and Armstrong.

Villumsen beats Armstrong by 20 seconds! After winning many minor medals, could she become the world champion at last?! Second half just the tiniest bit slower, so her pacing was superb as well.

Garfoot into provisional second place.
