That reminds me of something I should have mentioned earlier - anyone with a ticket to the event should be aware that they won't allow food or drink to be brought in (so the vendors can make a killing selling £7 meals / 500ml bottles starting at £1.50 for water).

If you want to save money, you can get food / drink from a cafe just a couple of minutes away (where I got myself a nice BLT baguette) or the big shopping centre next to Stratford station - as long as you have enough time to enjoy it before getting to the event.

Tennant beats Doull for bronze..........Doull probably went off too fast as he had a lead for most of the way

Great evening's entertainment. Clare Balding was an embarrassment, so unprofessional compared with the rest of the team.

Throughout all the international championships she's done - OG, WCh, CG & ECh (elite & U23), Laura Trott has finally won a bronze medal - her 27th medal in all. XD (And she's still only 23.)

As part of the victorious American quartet, Chloe Dygert has emulated Barker in winning a WCh TP the year after winning a WCh junior ITT.

Filippo Ganna is the youngest men's IP world champion since Taylor Phinney won in 2009. That finish was reminiscent of what Colin Sturgess did back in the day, although they didn't have tri-bars back then.

In the omnium - the scratch race didn't quite work out for Gav, but a 4:19 IP (would have been fifth in qualifying proper!) and a victorious elimination race proves the Colombian is in fine fettle to defend his title.

Men's points race is on the Red Button and BBC Sport website.

That was one hell of a points race - topped with a rainbow jersey for Dibben!

Thanks, I watched it, what a fantastic last lap by Jon Dibben, such acceleration.

Only sensible comments from the commentary team, if only it could all be just like that.

In the end, he finished equal on points with Andreas Graf, but won on account of winning the last sprint. Benjamin Thomas was unfortunate to crash when he did as he was in medal contention.

In the omniums I've seen him ride, Dibben has always done a good points race - and that particular race puts him ahead of Cav in the running for Olympic omnium selection (whether or not Cav wins a medal tomorrow) as they can't afford a weak fifth man in the TP.

The first Women's World Tour event just started with the Strade Bianche. Return race, after long lay-off for injury, for multiple world champ Ferrand-Prevot. Women's race coverage and highlights probably on the same level as last week's OHN.

Both current world champions taking part: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CcxrpswUUAAw3ta.jpg

Rain possible sometime during the afternoon. In the men's race, the 2014 winner Kwiatkowski is riding for Team Sky.

Today's women's ski slalom from Poland has been cancelled due to bad weather. Here's hoping..

Laura Trott 3rd in the Omnium Scratch race, off to a good start, beats all the big names.

Jess Varnish beat Elis Ligtlee (who seems bang off her usual form) to qualify for the round of 16 in the match sprint

Katy Marchant goes out to Virginie Cuff

Women's SB at 9km from the 9% steep finishing climb in old Siena, has Newiadoma, Armitstead and Johansson out in front by 70 seconds from seven chasers and 3 minutes from the peloton.

Blink and you will miss it: https://www.periscope.tv/w/1BdGYLzvDkXKX

Better coverage on highlights later, hopefully.

Damn, she's flying. Let's hope it's not too much too soon - her major spring goal is Flanders (which she hasn't yet won).

Vogel to face Meares in the next knockout round of the sprints (!) - one of them will be sent to the repechage.

-----

Men's omnium kilo now underway - remember when Clancy clocked an outrageous sub-61 back in London 2012? His time would have been worth a bronze in this week's WCh kilo proper (!), though I suspect Nimke could have gone sub-60 back then if the kilo was still an Olympic discipline.

Cav only mid-table in the Omnium 1K with strong riders to come, medal and Olympic chances pretty much gone, I reckon.

Finishes 12th.

Victory went to 19 year-old Amalie Dideriksen (one of Lizzie's Boels teammates), who appears to be making a smooth transition from the junior ranks. Recent world junior champions in the road race are certainly making themselves known in London.

Finishes 12th.
He's 14 points behind Roger Kluge, so a medal is still possible (Cav does good flying laps). That said, the Olympic champion is just 4 points behind and is a major threat; Boudat is well in the mix too.

Gav and the Vivster currently share the lead, 24 points ahead of Kluge.

Of course, clean forgot that the points race has changed it all, big gaps can be made up.

Vogel puts Anna Meares into the Rep...and Jess Varnish also into the Rep.

Here's a picture of the women's SB podium.

Not often you see one each of the world, continental (Euro U23) and national (Swedish) champions' jerseys together (therefore no standard trade team jersey in sight either).

Anna Meares into the Rep...and Jess Varnish also into the Rep.
Same race - so one (or both) of them will be out.

Here's Lizzie in the WWT leader's jersey...

Meares won her rep, so she'll face compatriot (and Commonwealth champion) Morton in the quarters. Varnish is out, so no Brits made the quarters - what implications for qualification, I wonder?

-----

Lee Wai Sze now has extra incentive to win a medal tomorrow, as Hong Kong will host these championships in 2017. (During the Easter weekend - between 12 and 16 April inclusive, to be precise.)
