It's most definitely Good Friday for Sky - Poels won stage 5 of Catalunya, and Kwiatkowski / Stannard made it a 1-3 in E3. No prizes for guessing who came second in the latter...

Eurosport covering Catalonia and the last hour of the Criterium International........but I've just realised that Gent-Wevelgum isn't on TV

That's a bit strange........it's one of the recognised Classics and I'm sure it's usually televised ?

Good performance by GB riders in the Junior Gent-Wevelgem......Ethan Hayter finished 2nd and was one of 5 Brits to finish in the first 21 home

These are the Under 18s......

Hayter looks pretty promising......he's competed in 3 of these junior Belgian races this season and has won one and finished 2nd in the other two. He also won one and had two 2nds at the back end of last year in the Belgian junior races

He also rides the track and is the current Junior British Pursuit Champ

One to keep an eye on !

cheers.......I've just flicked over in time to catch the last 16K

I'm sure I looked at the Bike channel website earlier and didn't see any sign of it on the front page (although it does appear in their TV schedule which I didn't look at)

Belgian cyclist Antoine Demoitie has died after being hit by a race motorcycle in the Gent-Wevelgem race. It is very sad news for his family.

It also highlights a worrying trend in the sport.

Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

It's starting to become the victim of its own success. There were three top-level live televised races on Sunday, plus probably other lower level, junior and women's races. there just are not enough skilled support drivers and pilots to cover everything.

Oh dear what tragic news

RIP Antoine

For all that Carlton might be annoying he has constantly been going on about the problem of the motorbikes getting too close to the riders. He's mentioned it numerous times this last week

I suspect it's going to be down to the riders to go on strike to get anything changed

Back in the bad old days of doping, heart attacks were very frequently associated with EPO use causing blood clotting, so let's hope this is not anything like that. Sadly, it can also be a random event affecting young people.

3 Days at De Panne is this week's race - i.e. the very same roads we have been watching all month, just in a different order. Terrible bad luck for Luke Rowe, had got into the decisive 4 man break, then punctured at the foot of the Geraardsbergen, the final big climb of the day and lost the chance not just for the stage but a crack at the overall as well. Win for Alexander Kristoff.

Strange finish today as Kristoff was away with 2 Astana riders who were too busy arguing with each other to use their numerical advantage

They ended up just taking him to the finish where he inevitably outsprinted them

Neat win today for Viviani at the Belgian seaside, came out of the substantial shadow of Kietel for a sprint win. Kristof picked up a couple of seconds in third.

Two stages tomorrow, short road stage in the AM, ITT in the PM

Last major target for Armitstead before the Rio Olympics: http://cyclingtips.com/2016/04/after...aring-for-rio/

After recent form, Cancellara and Sagan are seen as the clear favourites in the men's race. If for some reason, the pair are not in the small lead group after a hard 255km, there are several usual classics suspects with similar chances in the frame.

EQS's classic's men are desperate for a major win this season. The team's sprinters, Kittel and Gaviria, are clocking up more points.

From the Sunday Times report, Dr Mark Bonar has claimed to have treated quite a few cyclists with EPO including TdF riders from UK and abroad. The claims have not been independently verified. http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/...cle1684625.ece

The doctor in question is currently under investigation for professional misconduct and dosent have a license to practice, so is credibility is very much in doubt.

Can't get that link to the women's Tour of Flanders to work, think it's a subscription only site. But we're getting regular updates on Eurosport - 13k to go, Lizzie just breaking for the front now! She and Emma Johansen have got away on the Paterberg.

OK lads, pretend there's a a long freight train coming through a level crossing for the next 10 minutes, will you?

Yes, Lizzie!!!!!!! Gets it by half a wheel, ice-cold bit of calculation in the last Km, almost let the peleton catch them, then just broke with 150m to go! So all she needs now is the Olympic Race in Rio and then she will truly have the grand slam of World Champ, World Cup Champ and Olympic Champ.

Apparently, the website collapsed under high demand once the race got going. https://twitter.com/_pigeons_

After what he allegedly did not do for the woman with terminal cancer, a bit of doping pales into insignificance. He was on the UKAD radar but they were prevented from investigating him as their latest remit is only to chase those within sport (not potential suppliers of doping products).

He claims he's been involved with 150 professional sportsman, I find that hard to believe. They would buy the drugs through an intermediary and learn to inject themselves and not involve someone who cant be trusted.

Selling his story to the press is his only way to earn some money to make up for him not being able to practice right now, so that makes it likely that he has hugely exaggerated the truth or even made it all up.

Who has he sold his story to? All I have read so far is the undercover sting in the Sunday Times.

Cancellara seems to have missed the boat. Only once more up the Kwaremont to close the gap and still recover to have something left for the finish line sprint.

Sagan wins! All those seconds between Richmond and GW hardly matter now - he's finally broken his Monument duck.

Rowe finished in fifth place today - not quite the outcome Sky were hoping for, but it's still a reasonable result for them (and a great result for him).

When was the last time (if ever) both world champions won Flanders in the same year?! What an outcome.

Damn, that's a lovely picture.

More success for the Brits today as Tao Geoghegan Hart won the 1.2U classified Trofeo Piva and Jon Dibben won Stage 3a of Le Triptyque (I believe he was also second overall behind Mads Würtz).

Great from Lizzie........she's really slammed the women's races this season

Hope she has a decent break at some point so she doesn't burn out before Rio

Great win for Sagan as well........he's a bit of a monster. Good job he can't climb the big mountains or he'd win everything.......
