Tour de Yorkshire starts tomorrow. Live on ITV4 each day, with the previous day's highlights repeated before the live show.

Anyone know if it's likely to be available on catch-up via the ITV player?

Not got round to replacing a dodgy freeview recorder so no way of recording it myself at moment, and don't want to wait for the highlights the day after in case I see spoilers on the news sites.

I wouldnt think the live broadcast would be made available on ITV Player but the 7pm highlights should be.

Have they said who will be doing the coms? hope it's not Hugh Porter, he seemed a little past it last time.I heard him.

Shame if only the highlights are available on catch-up, but better than nothing. With the amount ITV4 pay for live sport coverage (BTCC etc) they should have a dedicated sport app on NowTV and other sources. Even the BBC have one.

He reminds me of the legendary F1 commentator, Murray Walker, in his enthusiasm. He does mess up a few times in the excitement (getting names wrong) but I prefer him to some of the alternatives that just drone on.

According to the RadioTimes website, it's Ned Boulting and David Millar doing the commentating, with Gary Imlach and Chris Boardman presenting. I personally prefer Boardman commentating as he brings a lot of insight from the technical side as well as his racing past.

Ned seems to be improving has a commentator, the best co-com for me is Brian Smith, very insightful and instantly recognizes the riders.

Another twitterite putting their foot in it (although some might say its only his opinion) before trying to delete the message.

Looks like they.re going to investigate this further

The sport appears to be plunged in crisis with allegations against Sutton of sexism, Emma Pooley raising apparent sexism in the Road squads, allegations of a disparaging attitude to the paralympic athletes, allegations that the official kit supplied by UK Sport was sold on for profit and now these latest allegations about Sky

And admirably restrained while discussing his own men!

BREAKING: Simon Yates has apparently been notified of an antidoping violation resulting from a sample given during Paris-Nice. Not good.

OGE statement

Spoiler
On April 22, the team was notified that Simon Yates has an adverse analytical finding from a test conducted at Paris-Nice, stage 6 on March 12, 2016.

The positive result is for the substance Terbutaline.

The substance was given to Simon Yates in the form an asthma inhaler and accordingly, this was noted by the team doctor on the Doping Control Form, signed at the time of the test.

The substance was given in an ongoing treatment of Simon Yates’ documented asthma problems. However, in this case the team doctor made an administrative error by failing to apply for the TUE required for the use of this treatment.

The use of Terbutaline without a current TUE is the reason it has been flagged as an adverse analytical finding. This is solely based on a human error that the doctor in question has taken full responsibility for.

There has been no wrong-doing on Simon Yates’ part. The team takes full responsibility for this mistake and wishes to underline their support for Simon during this process.

The team is concerned by the leak of this information and has no further comments until there has been a full evaluation made of the documentation, statements and evidence that the team and Simon Yates are now submitting to the UCI in order to clarify everything.

Even assuming he gets the benefit of the doubt (thanks to Orica's robust defense of him), it's fair to say the last 9 days have been a shower of shit for BC.

Very unfortunate - feel a bit for him if he has been mis-lead by the people he should be able to trust.

Ned and David chatting as the race winds along.......apparently the rumour is that a major sponsor is about to come on board with One Pro Cycling with the ambition of becoming a World Tour Team in pretty quick time

Seems a bit premature; they have been, I won't say struggling, but finding it tough to find their feet so far this year.

If they get a major sponsor....no names were mentioned but the guys said a 'blue chip' company........then presumably they'll get higher ranked riders

It would be good to have two British world tour teams !

He has been such a disappointment on the road since winning the Tour de France. I'm sure the organisers will be disappointed. HHe's the only cyclist the fair weather folk have heard of in the race.

ITV4 don't know why he pulled out.

Possible reasons:
He avoids media encounters that will include questions on Sutton?
He just celebrated his birthday yesterday with too much carbo-loaded liquid?

Adam Hansen had a mechanical on the final climb in Turkey. The moto-camera bike stopped alongside the team car so the mechanic could not open his door : https://twitter.com/HansenAdam/statu...50571384414209

Good time trials by Dumoulin and Pinot in Romandie this afternoon. The three first category climbs should decide the race tomorrow.

Annamarie Phelps on the boards of BOA, British Rowing, and British Paralympic Association is to chair the BC inquiry. It will not report until after Rio. No media profiles yet on how good she is at cutting through BS and getting to the heart of the issue. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/ab...ndent-review-0

He was involved in the crash in the early part of the stage, apparently.

This 'fairweather *folk' will be a bit disappointed not to see him cross the line in Scarborough but my main reason for being there is to collect for the RNLI so I probably won't get to see much anyway.

*What's the singular of 'folk'?

Off we go on Eurosport with the Tour de Yorkshire Feminin....ITV4 still has The Sweeney or something.

And it breaks down immediately, no pictures coming through.

still no pictures........

Technical problems seem to be an everyday occurrence now in cycling coverage

I blame digital technology........it's just not as reliable as the old fashioned analogue broadcasting. Bring back valves and glowing bits !

(I've noticed this on Radio 5 as well now they've gone digital........seems like every 10 minutes they lose contact with their reporter on the scene,)

Has there been any announcement as to why this coverage is missing?

Airplane problems, apparently. They can't get a relay for the pictures. Really annoying for the only non World Championship race for women in the year supposed to go out live. ITV4 showing football, Eurosport showing motor bikes.
