Not many pre-1944 buildings in these towns, eh?
Geez, you wouldn't want to have been in those holes on 6 June 1944. |

Hope there were no serious injuries in the collision behind, looks like Thomas was caught in it

Spectacular crash spectacular finish.
Like or loathe Carlton Kirby but that was great commentary. |

McLay in the sprint bunch....does he have a chance of wearing the white jersey? He must do.
And S4C have a team on the line as well! |

Terrible ITV coverage.By becoming fixated with Cavendish they've given us no information on who else was involved in the crash. I saw some Sky riders caught up in it. I hope Froome wasn't one of them.

Team Skys twitter feed confirmed Thomas brought down in the crash but dont have any details of how he is yet
They have posted he is back on the bus and seems to be ok. |

Cav finally got the better of Kittel in a H2H sprint and won - about bloody time!!
(That's perhaps his biggest "he never beat X" career footnote out the window)Another task crossed off the bucket list - if he didn't do it today, he probably never would have. Hard to believe he was bested in a sprint for the British RR jersey by Blythe not a week ago... [Career stage tally now 45 in Grand Tours (including 27 in the TdF)] ----- Oh, and McLay got 9th place, which is very good in esteemed company. |

Wonderful by cav.
I really thought he had declined a little, like zabel and others before him. Still good, but not quite the very best. Great to be proved wrong. One more stage gets him level with hinault. |

Horrible weather on the Cotentin peninsula. Same story as yesterday, a group off the front to absorb the KoM points, Dimension Data on the front of the peleton and Contador in trouble again, two minutes off the back.

Race radio is reporting Sam Bennett, who was involved in the finish crash yesterday, is in trouble and dropped by the peloton. https://twitter.com/BoraArgon18/stat...13566970142720
The official app is persisting in reporting bright sunshine this afternoon : http://racecenter.letour.fr/#/stageprofile

It doesn't look too bad on the profile but all the commentators are saying that the finish is too tricky for the sprinters today and they all expect Cav to lose the yellow jersey
Sagan is favourite...... |

Would be nice to see the stripes back on the stage winner's podium (not happened since Cav won Champs sprint #4, as it happens). Quote:
