I think Froome will win 3 more TDF's and some other tours.
I think it's strange the Vuelta starting during the Olympics. While the cycling will presumably all be over by then, people will still be watching for the other sports. I think it started around the same time in 2012, but the Olympics started and consequently finished a week earlier. It was a Saturday evening. There was a time trial. It began about 18:00 and I had just arrived home from a football match. I had just signed up to Eurosport. I don't remember much about the race, but I had only been into cycling a few months then. |

In Olympic years, why don't they move the tour to a week or two earlier? I want to see the top riders compete at their best for both.

It's too complicated, they'd have to rejig the entire calendar, because the week before the Tour is always for the National Champs, the week before that something else, and then there has to be a gap of a certain number of weeks after the Giro and...and... We saw during this year's Tour that the weather in the Alps can still be very unreliable even in July.

Tour of Great Britain will be on ITV 4 and the Bike channel this year, so no coverage on Eurosport I'm afraid.

The Bike Channel showed some one day races early in the season and I'm pretty sure the schedule had one in August as well........so something else to watch out for |

Anybody know who'll be commentating on the Vuelta for Eurosport? Have an awful feeling it'll be the idiot.

oh good........I've enjoyed the odd live race that they've shown on the Bike Channel
It may be good for people who want to choose between rraces because Eurosport may have more Vuelta coverage in the afternoons. |

Here's the (partially confirmed) startlist for San Sebastian. Some of the big names competing in the men's Olympic RR (e.g. Valverde) will be racing there.

Jon Dibben is the latest Brit to join this year's group of stagiaires - he's with Cannondale-Drapac for the rest of the season. Same goes for Owain Doull and James Shaw w.r.t Sky and Lotto-Soudal respectively.

Not surprised about Dibben, he has been dominant in the British domestic scene for a couple of years now.

Rain on just at the sharp end.
Well done, Eileen. Doesn't ride so much in Britain these days as she is on a Belgian team, and will get her first chance to show off her jersey on Saturday night on BBC2. |

She won't - the RideLondon Classique (formerly one of the Grand Prix crits) is now a UCI-classified road race*, which means Roe will wear her trade team jersey and Hannah Barnes (as British RR champion) will wear the national champion's jersey that evening.
[* 1.WWT, like La Course] |

The womens race was competitive. I thought Claire Rose would have finished in the top 3. She wwas very consistent.

Men's race looks like it is going to be super-complicated already - there will be riders lapped all over the shop.
