i am not sure about medal distribution.
I know they have prepared for Gold and breaking the WR over three to four years. Last night was the trial run and we will see them build on it later . They need a faultless performance to win and set the record. Familiarity with the track is essential and juggling riders to share medals around sounds a little complacent. As the Netherlands proved last night, it only takes one slight error to end in catastrophe.
Cavendish only dropped out of the Tour early to prepare and did not dedicate as long as Houvenaghel did four years ago.
