Sagan is the winner of the 2016 WT; Spain win the nations variant (again) but Colombia were a close second.

Just noticed on Radio 5 tonight between 9.30 and 10.30......5 Live cycling
featuring a conversation between Victoria Pendleton and Anna Meares...... could be interesting though I won't be listening because of the time it's on but I might check if it's on the website tomorrow |

Cav's prep for Doha has been hampered due to an intestinal infection. No doubt he'll be hoping for a short race, as would be the case if the UCI implement their 'Extreme Weather Protocol'.

Not looking good judging by today's reports:
Terpstra has tweeted his Garmin showing 39.5 degC during training - just below the race shortening threshold. Astana say they trained for the TTT at 42 degC. Marianne Vos says she climbed in training at over 40 degC. Remember the debacle of exploding tyres at the Tour of Oman last year? https://youtu.be/MSv9WKOyHCA They need to install drive-thru chiller showers on the circuit ![]() I feel sorry for the fan's stood at the roadside all day creating an exciting atmosphere ..ooh! that's right, there won't be any! |

Does the name Jessica Salazar ring any bells? Obviously not, but that hasn't stopped the Mexican from slashing half a second off the half-kilo WR!!
![]() As it happens, this year's Pan American Track Championships are taking place in the thin air of Aguascalientes*, which is why the new mark now stands at 32.268. That also supersedes the previous track record (32.836) by Anna Meares. [* Just like 2010, when Sarah Hammer clocked a still-standing 3:22.269 WR for the individual pursuit.] |

The Daily Mail is reporting UKAD raided the Manchester Velodrome today: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/spo...m-factory.html
This follows confirmation that UKAD were investigating the personally-delivered medical package by a BC employee Simon Cope at the 2011 Dauphine and, convicted doper, Tiernan-Locke, adding to the old Tramadol accusations in a BBC interview yesterday. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2...-probe-widens/ |

The Tramadol usage mentioned by Tiernan-Locke is something or nothing, it isnt performance enhancing and it is already known that it's widely used by cyclists because it isnt banned.
Apparently WADA monitor its usage through the blood testing they do and also monitor other drugs that aren't banned, to see if there is a trend to over use a drug. |

Tramadol requires a prescription for a genuine medical reason. It cannot be offered as general pain killer to aid sports performance in healthy individuals. The doctor could be in serious trouble if any misprescribing allegations were proven.
The performance enhancement element is they numb aches and pains and reduce self-awareness. In other cases, tablets were allegedly crushed by team helpers and put in riders 'finish bottles' to help them ignore pain and sustain repeated high intensity efforts in the latter part of races. Team Sky called for Tramadol to be placed on the WADA banned list in 2014. Yesterday's 'raid' is now being described as a visit and meeting with BC staff by two UKAD officials. Whether it was pre-arranged or unannounced is not yet clear. |

Only eight women's trade teams in the TTT. Temperature is a 'mild' 35 degC.

Anouska Koster of RaboLiv has apparently suffered from heat exhaustion during the women's TTT, given the way she crashed on a straight piece of road.

Boels Dolmans win their first WCh TTT, with perennial winners Canyon SRAM finally being dethroned in the event's short history (they're runners-up today). Cervelo Bigla get the bronze.
Nice way for Evelyn Stevens to sign off her career, with (perhaps) just the individual races to come now. |

Etixx Quick Step get the better of BMC once again after the latter took top honours in the 2 previous TTT. Behind those two, Orica-BikeExchange get the bronze.
Ten years after winning his second junior ITT, Marcel Kittel finally claims a WCh medal (and gold at that) at elite level (albeit for the team variant). |

Slo-mo shows Bouhanni, Viviani and other sprinters all shaking their heads at what Gaviria did.
Really powerful acceleration gaining an unrecoverable several bike lengths after both the Cofidis and Sky ran out of riders to keep the pace high. |

I thought Team Sky would win the Mens Team Time trail but having no Froome affected their chances of winning
