Wow, the rain is rather heavy now!

I would think that even though it's unpleasant, Froome won't mind this as he knows Contador can't afford to fall so won't be able to take too many crazy risks if the descent is wet.

Another win for Costa maybe?

With the rain I doubt many will want to risk anything too much.

If Costa's still in front over the top and descends sensibly, he'll win it. But if he crashes, then others have a chance.

Learn from PORTE boyz ...watch and learn a REAL team player.

Think there is no zip or buzz left for any real attacks as was predicted.

Chapeau to Costa, great win.

And that day probably couldn't have gone much better for Sky - no real attacks to worry about thanks to the rain, just a small acceleration required from Froome to keep with Rodriguez et al, and they didn't even have to do all the pacemaking, but when they did, no-one challenged the tempo they were setting so they kept it suiting them almost all afternoon. Froome should be very satisfied with that.

What's likely to happen tomorrow? As it's the last chance to attack Froome right?

Not really, the chance to attack Froome has pretty much gone now unless he absolutely falls to pieces tomorrow.

It'll be a fight between Contador, Quintana, Kreuziger and Rodriguez up the last climb for the other two podium slots, and another battle throughout for the polka dot jersey as well.

There may be attempts to isolate Froome early on, but that risks the Movistar and Saxo domestiques spending too much energy and not having enough to be there for Quintana and Contador when it matters on the final climb.

Sky's job tomorrow is to get Froome and Porte onto the last climb in touch with Quintana, Contador and Rodriguez, then the attacks will come, and Porte can pace Froome up it to minimise losses if he's not feeling great, or Froome can go with the attacks if he has the legs.

Well done Rui.
Well done Chris Froome.
Well done Porte

Well done the weather for providing a different variety of pictures to watch ad making the Tour complete.

It was a long day in the Chair, but luckily my domestic dropped back to the kitchen car to get my egg on bread snack ,before the last two climbs , so I was well fueled for any attacks from texts to get my a*se out into the sunshine. Luckily it was enough, as whenit rained I was unable to get back to the kitchen car incase i missed something.
just coasted to the finish in perhaps the least exciting finish of the tour oddly ! but relieved to get though the day and fully fuelled to take on any attacks tomorrow. and staurday afternoon sun means there WILL be attacks LOL

Off to give my urine sample.

What is it with Contador? When there's work to be done, he suddenly shrinks back into the group and lets everyone else do it.

Isn't that what a team is for? How did Wiggins win the Tour last year?

Besides, Saxo were riding to protect 2nd, not challenge Froome.

I'm talking about the very end of the stage, when the group containing the saxo and Sky boys were pushing ahead and things had broken down a bit. Everyone (including Froome) was doing their bit, but not Contador, As jack_kerouac said above:

I still don't really understand what your point is. Why would he do anything when there's nothing to gain?

Froome didn't need to do that, he was only on the front because he didn't fancy sitting in Contador's wheel on a fast descent - remember what happened last time he did that. Porte paced Froome down most of the way when he rejoined.

Contador's team leader, he had his teammate there, so it would have been pointless for him to do anything, especially given that there's another tough mountain stage tomorrow where Quintana is guaranteed to attack him. The group today had nothing to gain over each other, Contador wasn't going to lose any time by not helping, so the sensible thing was not to bother. Kreuziger wasn't asking Contador to help, he wanted others to waste a bit of energy taking the lead.

I really don't see what's so hard to understand about the fact that this is an individual race, so everyone does what suits them if they're the best placed rider in a team, or what suits their team leader! That's all Contador did, it's perfectly logical
