do you think they'll be a bit disappointed that only 5 top division teams are turning up ?

Or would that be par for this grade of race ?

Wonder how many there were last year.........

Cheers.............I'd have missed that because it's not in the Radio Times

Wiggo went early in the Eneco TT and set the fastest time..........now he's got to wait a long time to see if anyone beats him

Only a short course but a tricky one.........they're taking 16/17 minutes to complete the course

Wiggo didn't have to wait too long............someone has beaten him already with all the top GC contenders still to go...........

Not really a course for Wiggins, too much jinking about and not much long straight stuff.

Only 2 world tour teams have turned up for the Race of the Fjords which is the same race classification as the Tour of Britain, so perhaps 5 world tour teams in GB isn't too bad.........

yeah............in horse racing terms he needs a galloping track with a long home straight to unwind his top speed

Not in the radio times but the 2nd stage of the Fjords Tour is scheduled for live coverage on ES2 at 11.30 AM..............it's a team time trial.

Then we have stage 6 of Eneco at 1.45

With the footie, the cricket, the racing..........the cycling

I need four pairs of eyes................

Think I'll give the cricket a miss (T20 finals, bit boring, can watch the final tonight when other things have finished)

Ooh.............it's a split stage in the Fjords

Road race stage on now and a team time trial later today

haven't seen a Norwegian Blue yet...........well, not a 'live' one

Really can't be bothered with these races that don't have constant on screen time and distance information. The only graphic on the Tour of Fjords is a clock showing the time since the start. What earthly good is that? Distance to the finish, splits between groups, location of the leader and other jerseys - Eurosport at least should insist that should be the minimum, on threat of dropping coverage.

Yes, it is annoying..............it just looks so amateurish

For those without Eurosport, the Eneco Tour is live on the race website: http://enecocampaigns.com/2013/tour/

Lining up for a good finish as the groups on the road close the splits.

I cannot recall seeing BMC act as a unit for so long in a race.

Britain won 3 Golds at the Junior World's .Danielle Khan won the Sprint and the Time Trial and the Women's team won the Pursuit which was ran as the 4000 for the first time and the senior world record got broken a bunch of times over the day with GB breaking it again in the Final against the Russians. The record now stands at 4:36:147 (the mens is 3:51.659).
Wonder how much time will have came off that by the time we get to Rio ?

Stannard, like Lopez yesterday, is showing that Sky's GT domestiques have a great deal more stamina than the average rider in the peloton. Lopez did not so much as sprint away yesterday but show he still had some energy left. Going to be close.

Come on Stannard !

can the two of them hold on..............
swingaleg
18-08-2013
Oh well.............the other guy was always going to be stronger in the finish after Stannard had been out front on his own for so long

Still a good ride and we have another GB rider who's a serious contender for World Tour race wins...........

Been a good race this Eneco tour...........I'm always a bit suspicious that it's just going to be a sprint-fest but they've organised it well..............four days for the sprinters to start, then a TT and 2 stages in the Ardennes to sort out the GC

Made it interesting right to the end and the overall came down to the final stage

I think it's safe to say now that Wiggo is winding down his road racing career and will almost certainly never ride another Grand Tour

Latest indication is that he intends to go back to the track

Surprised Wiggins is thinking of going back to the track with no individual pursuit on offer.

The USA Pro Challenge starts on Eurosport tonight 21:00

Kind of the polar opposite to the Eneco Tour - nothing but hills.

Good turn out of world tour teams, must be 7 or 8, including Sky, Canondale, BMC, Argos Shimano

I'm surprised that the US don't have any World Tour races. Would this one be considered the premier stage race held in the US ?

Probably this one or the Tour of California.

I wonder if there'll be a three week grand tour in the USA before long.

I was thinking that as well.............not sure when they'd fit it into the schedule if they want to attract the top riders and teams
