I think it's easier if people who don't want to know what's happening don't read the thread until they've seen the highlights..............otherwise the thread will be totally dead until gone 11pm...........

Uran must surely be SKY team Leader after Henao's disaster yesterday

Henao lost over two minutes.............that final climb really sorted them out
Nibali takes the leaders jersey Roche has the points and mountain jerseys Today is flat most of the way but with a category 3 climb at the finish which might just be too tough for the out and out sprinters and might suit someone like Gilbert.............that kind of rider Before they reach the finish town they go to an island off the coast.........it's looks quite a way off the coast on the map, don't know whether there's a bridge or a causeway..........looking at the map it appears that they might have to take a boat !.............

Marvellous stage yesterday with coastal winds, crashes, split peloton into about 4 groups..............finally all got back together just before the finish
The oldest man in the race, Chris Horner, took his chance on the short but fairly sharp last climb whilst the 'big guns' were marking each other............he won by a few seconds but with the time bonus he goes into the leaders jersey Some tricky climbs today, short but very steep in parts for short ramps. It's up and down all the way but there's a fair run in and only a short ramp at the finish..........could be a chance for a sprinter? |

The boys on ES think it's a leg-breaker today with all the short, sharp climbs
There's only one categorised climb, and that's only a category 3..............they're saying that's a real stinker, up t 30%, but it's short, hence the category I still think there might be time for the sprinters to get back...........we'll see ! 52K to go, break has about 4 minutes |

That climb looked really steep on the stage profile...........but it only looked really short. I'm sure it was several kilometres long, much worse than it looked on the profile !
And the final little climb to the finish line was also quite a long climb............the sprinters stood no chance |

That climb was in a race earlier this year where they had to go up it a number of times never seen so many riders off and pushing

Trotty has just finished 3rd on stage 6 of a women's stage race in France. Seems to be her best result since she went road racing
Morena won yesterdays stage in Spain and after 1 day with Horner, Nibali gets the leaders jersey back...........I don't suppose he really wants it just now this early in the race Another stage in the Vuelta today that the organisers are calling a stage for sprinters, but Sean says that it doesn't look like one for sprinters to him ! If anything it looks hillier than yesterday but with a more sprint-friendly finish |

Willing Martin on there, that was one of the rides of the decade. Felt a bit empty after it.

Fantastic stuff. Another race starting tomorrow, the World Ports Classic which I seem to remember is a two-day stage race finishing in Rotterdam and Antwerp, so a sprinters' benefit.

That 2 day race Amsterdam/Rotterdam is on ES now
I've noticed though, like a lot of races on ES this year..........they're not showing the whole race live No live coverage of the final day tomorrow |

Eurosports coverage is not in the same league as ITV's they give great inside and background storys and chat with the winners and riders
Eurosports coverage has gone right down the tubes with very poor content involved |

Quite exciting racing over in Holland
Something happened a little while ago, looks like the peloton might have taken a wrong course............as a result the gap to the break went up from just over a minute to four minutes with 40k to go all hell broke loose............it's only a 2 day race geared for 2 sprint finishes so the sprinters teams put the hammer down to try and catch the break and the peloton stated splitting up. There's also some wind on the flat countryside 37K to go now |
