The BBC commentators are misreading the GPS stats. The times show that all the other teams are AHEAD of Cannondale, not down.

Finally they work it out.

Two races in the World Champs today - the Junior Women's TT which has just finished, and the men's U-23 TT this afternoon.

Top 3 from the Junior Women - 1) Alexandria Nichols AUS, 2) Alexandra Manly AUS 3) Zavinta Titenyte LTU.

There don't seem to have been any Brits riding, and none are on the start list for the men's either.

Don't remember this ever being covered in the past, certainly.

Oops, jumped the gun on that one - the winner was Severine Eraud, FRA - the two Aussies were silver and bronze.

If I'm reading the website properly, the G-S-B of the men's U-23 are

Damien Howsen AUS
Yoann Paillot FRA
Lasse Norman Hansen DEN

So the Aussies and France already sneaking an early lead on the medals table.

According to the start list, there are no British riders in the women's Time Trial this afternoon, which would be very disappointing if true.

The start list I saw had Emma Pooley riding the TT...........but in general it's very disappointing how the british team are not using their allocations in the youth and womens events

I suppose, to be fair, a lot of the U23 men would have been riding the Tour of Britain

It's also the track nationals this weekend, so probably people are looking to get Commonwealth Games places.

Emma Pooley isn't riding............so no Brits

From the lists I've seen we appear to be putting full squads into the road races later in the week

I don't think the Men's U23 road race is on TV

Just one event today, the men's TT. Here's the start list

http://static.sportresult.com/federations/uci/CR2013/

The final 3 off are Wiggins, Cancellara and Martin, so that is where the excitement will be. Starts on the Red button at 12:15 and the main action on BBC2 at 13:40.

The Euskaltel team is going to fold at the end of the season.........the F1 driver, Alonso, was in discussions to save the team but talks have collapsed and that appears to be the last chance gone.

Oh that's a shock, during the Vuelta they were saying it was a done deal.

Apparently Alonso is still interested in getting involved in the sport but the talk now of starting a new team from scratch and building it up

"Don't pay too much attention to these early times".................apart from the fact that Brad's pretty buggered now.
