Vos is astonishing. How can she not only be so much stronger than anyone else, been either winner or 2nd at the last 8 worlds, but also wins numerous other cycling disciplines in parallel. Phenomenal.
Armitstead looked really good until she ran out of legs on the penultimate climb. Hope she feels she has more to give as she's still way out in front of the other GB women at the moment. Could do with a few stronger team mates so it's not all on her shoulders.
With the UCI now headed by a brit who has already appointed a woman as deputy, and women's cycling being a top priority, we need a strong female presence in the road races to back up the excellent track squad, which would feed the growing home appetite for cycling. There can be no turning back, give women parity and get team GB firing on all fronts ready for Rio and beyond.
Looking forward to the men's race tomorrow, they do an additional 4 laps, going to be a hard ride. The race starts at 9 and it's after 2 before it's even televised. The race could be blown apart and over by then! Will be watching it online to not miss any of the action.
