Yes, there cnn be no excuses after that! He was simply out sprinted!
I said the other day he doesn't look himself and is either carrying a injury or just not trained as hard this year. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't win another stage this year, so one stage win would be a major shock and disspointment for him. I wonder if we've already seen the best from him? Maybe he's just a bit off peak or the team hssn't quite got it right Just thinking of the other dominant sprinters like Cippo and Pettachi.............4 or 5 years seems to be the period that one man can dominate for so I expect is time as top dog will be coming to an end in the next year or so |

Only one more stage for him to win i think. Can't see him winning on Saturday... Looks a Sagan stage to me. Terrible tour for him at the moment... Today will be a big blow for him imho. |

Just seen the overhead view of that finish... Cav had a big advantage.
Still can't believe he lost. |

Headology again. I think the last couple of days have taken their toll.
I wouldn't write him off for the Champs yet, though. |

Not heard anything since, really, which is probably a good thing. At the time, it was said that it was a hairline fracture and that it wouldn't get any worse. I'm sure he's uncomfortable, but it's probably getting easier each day.

I just checked Sky's web site and GT's Wikipedia entry but couldn't find any up-to-date report. There's not much on GT's own Twitter feed either. Here's the links if you want to check again later in the race. http://www.teamsky.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geraint_Thomas https://twitter.com/GeraintThomas86 |

He's still riding and he got a brief mention by the commentators during today's stage.

Thomas has written a short blog for Metro about coping with injury: http://metro.co.uk/2013/07/10/tour-d...paris-3877828/

Yes, good link that.
A couple more: The official TdF web site (there's an option for English): http://www.letour.fr For Android tablets there's free a TdF app. A search on Google Play for "Tour de France" should find it. I guess there's probably also a version for Apple iOS devices. |

It's quite funny-sad that last year when he had acknowledged that the Team Sky focus was elsewhere and he had to freelance for a lead out that he won 5 stages.
He moved teams to one with a lead out purly dedicated to him and to give the green jersey a bash, and the the wheels have well and truly come off so far. Still have him as favourite for The Champs, but unless he can stir himself for the intermediate sprints winning the green is alwyas going to be difficult. |

I thought even the basic freeview has ITV4, which shows the tour live?
![]() "freeview lite" only has three muxes...until the analogue signal had been switched off i only had bbc1 bbc2 itv1 and c4 on analogue. "rural areas" are not considered worthwhile economically to be provided with the full free to air freeview package. saying that i am all the more appreciative of those who post updates and discuss the cycling as it happens! thanks to all of you! |
