Cycling started now, on Eurosport 1, 60k to go, about 40k of flat, then a big massive climb at the end

A whole day off from cycling! But don't worry, another mountain stage in the Giro on Tuesday and then the second part of the Norwegian season, the Tour of the Fjords starts on Wednesday.

Considering he has already said he that he was going back to track racing that is hardly something new.

Personally I think he may have second thoughts and carry on with road racing.

There is no guarantee he will make Team GB, he will have to get better qualifying times than others fighting for a place, he cant be gifted a place unlike Team Sky.

Do you mean the track cycling team? Yes of course. Wiggins would accept nothing less. He's certainly not been gifted a place in the Sky Team. His ITT in the Tour of California was frankly sensational and won him the competition in effect.

I missed a couple of days of the giro. How did Uran Uran get the maglia rosa off Cadel Evans? Was it in the time trial?

Yeah........Uran won the TT and took about 90 seconds from Evans

Poor weather conditions on the big climbs at today's Stage 16 of the Giro.

Last year he was gifted a place on team sky, they should have let Uran go for the Giro, instead him and Henao had to drop back and hold Wiggins hand

Which of course didn't happen in the end when Wiggins withdrew due to illness. I still contest he was gifted that Giro place. He is the contracted star rider and his season in 2013 was totally focused and geared up to take on the Giro. What team wouldn't have put Wiggins as head of the team in those circumstances?

Nasty stage yesterday but I'm so glad little Nairo Quintana is now in the lead! I'd very much like him to win the tour.

Quintana barring an accident has this Tour now. He excels in ITTs where there is a mountainous element and it's a summit finish on Saturday. Delighted for him. Also really pleased for Julio Arrendondo and his win today after his gutsy ride a week last Saturday

Just been out watching the Ladies' race in the Tour Series in Edinburgh - won't give away the result for people who want to watch it tomorrow, but it was a tough race for the women - a 1.2k lap with about 500 metres worth of cobbled climb. The field were completely smashed after the first lap. Just a quick break and then out again for the men's race in 50 minutes.

Doesn't matter too much - the best riders in the time trial will be going last. Still, I'd prefer il giro to this tennis. Still two more sets of this match at least. Maybe they'll shift Federer on to ES 2 when Djokovic has finished.

Ben Swift is currently in 3rd place in the mountain time trial.........and it's a long one at 26K.

Given that he finished alongside Basso in a mountain top finish a few days ago it looks as though Ben Swift is developing into a pretty useful all-rounder

he's already done well in a one day classic, forget which one, and of course up to now he's been considered a sprinter

Looking good for the future !

Easily the youngest potential GT podium I can recall with an average age marginally over 25 - seventeen years younger than Horner.

The long grind up Zoncolan tomorrow afternoon (the middle 8km of the 20km is 15%) so the final order could change: http://images2.gazzettaobjects.it/Gi...ppa_20_S03.jpg

Just starting to wonder if the Colombians are going to do to grand tour cycling what the Kenyans and Ethiopians have done to marathon running.

Rob Hatch has tweeted BES coverage hopefully will start at 2pm. Strange, as it is repeatedly saving match point stage in the tennis match.

A quick question about something I saw in the coverage - what does having pretty women model the different classification jerseys at the finish line do the help the Giro? It was very pleasant to see but I struggling to find a reason for it.

It's a cycling tradition it seems. Peter Sagan even pinched a bum or two when posing for the photos.

It wasn't post-race but whilst the race was going on about 10k out. It was sort of whilst your are waiting for the riders have a look at these pretty women.

That was one dumb spectator.
