But they do so because people read and fall for such stuff
Its one thing for fans at home or in the pub to speculate, but for national media outlets to broadcast this as if its real is just not on.

The UK media have learned absolutely nothing from the ongoing inquiries.

I'm hearing £27m on the trollwork interweb.
22 million now in the mail. Keeps the journos in employment I guess. Doing our bit for the economy.

But they do it because people read it. If football fans stopped buying the papers and stopped talking about these silly stories they would soon stop. Its the same as the pointless interviews with players and managers after the game, They are just a waste of time, Until we the customers start voting with our wallets etc, They going to report stuff their customers want to read.

Fans want to hear about transfers yes, nothing wrong with that and selling 'papers because of it.

What surely we do not want to read are out and out lies?

Lovely penalty from Romelu.

Wallace is looking cool. Very interested to see how he does when he goes out this season.

Half time. Wallace and de Bruyne looking very good, Cole too. Think Cech and CB's have only been mentioned once each

You have to think players like Wallace, Piazon, Chalobah and Kalas are playing for a spot in the squad rather than being sent on loan. Piazon hasn't really looked ready, Kalas has barely had a touch and Schurrle looks out of sync with his team mates.
De Bruyne looks very good and Lukaku's movement has been great.

But the papers dont have access to who or who not clubs are buying or wanting to buy, They pretend they have information but they rarely do. You say they print lies and yet will be reading the same paper every day this week and lapping it up. The second people stop buying the papers they will either have to start printing real information. If you look at every rumour that the papers have printed about who Chelsea is going to buy since Roman came, I would say about 5% have been true, So after 10 years with only 5% success rate, Why are people still reading it? If you followed a betting website that predicted horses with that rate you would not follow it for more then a day.

Michael Emanalo said today that in his 6 years at the club, this is the best pre-season he has seen in terms of player performance and reaction.

Moses is denied by a save at the near post. Lovely pass by De Bruyne to release the Nigerian.

That's odd, as i haven't taken a newspaper for nearly 15 years!

Sam Wallace from the Independent has just tweeted that Chelsea confirm they have made a bid for Rooney BUT deny that the offer included Mata or Luiz.

The terms of the Rooney offer are confidential but for avoidance of doubt, did not include transfer or loan of any CFC players.

I think all of this has been a case of "tit for tat" mind games.
First Mourinho responds to Moyes' rather undiplomatic statement about Rooney no longer being his first choice striker with..“If Wayne is a second choice for Man United, then the national team will be affected ".This will obviously have pissed off Moyes no end.
Chelsea then put in a cash bid. I'm guessing it wouldn't have been very generous at this stage. Angry United reject the bid and probably start a few mischievous rumours doing the rounds that Chelsea have given United a choice of one of their top young players plus cash for Rooney.
Chelsea have to rush out and deny the rumours which are already unsettling fans, not to mention the players concerned and other members of the squad.

Mourinho...it's your move next, go get him Jose ! Moyes isn't used to playing these games, it should be a walkover.

Blackman gets his first touch. Turnbull would have let that in.

Print media TV media all the same or any other type of media when it comes to Football. The only place you are going to get decent information is the club its self.

Sky Sports News wants viewers just as much as any other channel. They know as soon as its reported "Chelsea bid 10 million plus Mata for Rooney" people will be switching from watching Bargin Hunt and putting Sky Sports News on. If you dont want to hear lies about who we are buying and not buying selling or not selling, Get Chelsea TV and only watch that when it comes to the game, Every other form of football reporting is aimed at the Sun reader or people who listin to Talk Shite.

If people stayed away from Sky Sports News, the Football pages,Football radio stations and Football internet sites, They would soon stop reporting the rubbish. They are only feeding the people who want to eat the junk
