It's easy to yell and shout about wanting players to go when you have someone like SAF in charge but when you have teams like City spending big money and Jose standing by ready to jump in I think they know these are very different times to what they are use too. Its down to the board and SAF in that they have allowed it to come to this. You give into someone once and its only a matter of time before they come back again for more

£300,000 a week!

That places an awful lot of eggs into that "captain transfer request" basket.

Fergie would have shown him the door.

You haven't been on Redcafe or twitter then.

What is your take on the situation Cantona?

As I said, needs must.

How comfortable did Matic look yesterday, very impressed.

Very good, wasn't he? It's a shame we didn't sign him last summer, I think we'd probably be sitting on top of the PL now if we had.

Maybe maybe not, but we have him now

Paper talk today of Costa in the summer - I will be glad when the transfer window finishes.

Though I am looking forward to getting loads of snacks in and watching Jim shout at me all Friday night.

He did very well considering he not been with us that long. I looking forward to seeing him play agaisnt City to see how he performs when playing the top teams but so far so good and looks a really good bit of business

I would have sold him to you in the Summer.

As a player he is brilliant but the way he conducted himself left a lot to be desired.

The talk that is doing the rounds about his new deal is a storm in a teacup though. He would be getting a payrise anyway so £300k is logical if you believed he was on £250k already (i doubt the figures are correct though), he is the logical choice to be our captain, it doesnt need to be specified and the "be informed of transfer deals" is clearly a load of rubbish.

If he signs a new deal fair enough but he has lost the love of a lot of United fans which im sure doesnt bother him in the slightest! He wont attain the legendary status that his time with us and his success suggests he should.

The same Fergie who was visibly mortified at the thought of him leaving when Rooneygate 1 broke? Cue frantic behind-the-scenes deal making and a hasty U-turn.

Fergie only showed doors to players he thought he could immediately replace or were on the downwards spiral. The only one he regretted was Stam and he probably learned from that.

If Welbeck and Hernandez were banging goals in for fun or RVP was younger and less fragile, United would undoubtedly had cashed in on Rooney in the summer.

Dont forget he also gets a holiday mid season in a hot country.

Quotes from an interview with van Bieber:

[My surgeon] had rarely seen such a speedy recovery. I am very well on track.

I arrive at the club at nine o'clock, get treated, warm me up in the gym or the pool and then go to the physiotherapist on the field. Meanwhile, I can already turn back, reverse, cut, turn and shoot. Actually, I can do anything.

Sounds like he'll be back playing for the reserves by mid-March

Good to hear MvG's recovery is going well.

ITV have confirmed they're showing our FA Cup trip to the Etihad as the 5.15pm match on Sat 15th Feb. A good thing for us is that we play a PL game on the tuesday before it, whereas City play on the wednesday so have a day less to prepare. Also City have their CL home game against Barca the following tuesday whereas we don't play that midweek, so hopefully they'll have an eye on that.

Good to see Arsenal dropped points tonight. Gives us a chance of moving ahead of them tomorrow.

Lukaku picked up an injury against Liverpool. Sounds like ankle ligament damage

Bad news for sure. Fingers crossed for a full and speedy recovery.

On a more positive note regarding on-loan strikers, Patrick Bamford seems to be doing well at Derby since going there earlier this month. 3 goals in his last 3 appearances now.

No ligament damage and 3-4 weeks out, apparently.

Liking the rumours about Luke Shaw preferring a move to us over United. Hope we can get a deal wrapped up for a summer move soon.

Is he really ready for the step up?

The transfer fees are ridiculous, pay no more than 10 m

West ham had eleven behind the ball, spoiling the game.

The ref is also allowing them to grab shirts and wrestle during our corners.

The bias west ham commentary is also sickening.

30 shots at goal, 7 on target, no goals.

Fu**ing hell.

Did we miss a penalty as well? BBC Sport makes it look like that.
