Controlling the midfield so far. Excellent stuff. Need a second goal before they wake up.

Lovely strike from Bane

Away at the Etihad, with their home record, there's a good chance those missed opportunities will be regretted

That's not set in stone obviously, but away at City with their ferocious home form, every chance needs to be taken

Unlucky not to be two goals up, really bossing the game.

This is an excellent half from Chelsea.

A shame the city fans have let themselves down with their religious hate- crimes being chanted at Jose.

Terrific first half from Chelsea. Only downside is it should be wrapped up by now.

Fantastic first half. Probably wrong to single out anyone, but Luiz has been outstanding..apart from that awful free kick. Full marks to Eto'o as well, the best 45 minutes I've seen from him in a Chelsea shirt. Hazard looks unplayable at times, and Matic is having an excellent game.

This has proven correct so far.

Cracking finish from Ivanovic. We're playing really well. City look very vulnerable.

The midfield of matic, Luis and Ramires is looking very solid indeed.

Willian is tracking back and nipping at yaya toure every time hart rolls the ball to him. He gets better every game that player.

If only lampard was on the field and the Ramires chances had fell to him, it would be game over.

At times, the city defence look like the keystone cops. I hope this shows other teams how to get at them!

City's defence doesn't look good at all and dimechelis is awful. They could easily come back into this though, but agree it was a great first half for us.

Yes, I'm really surprised at them continuing to pick Demichellis. With the size of their squad you would think they could shuffle things around and find a better alternative, he's almost a liability.

Some of the things Hazard does are pure genius, they make me drool with pleasure.

Hit the post...again!

We shouldn't be this nervous watching a team playing so well.

I think Eto'o has run out of gas, might be time for a change ?

Yep, definitely. Something needs changing now.

Terrible free-kick decision.

The best we have played for a year.

The complete team performance.

Matic makes such a difference. No longer will our midfield be bullied by the likes of Toure with him in there.

Great win for you guys, completely dominated the midfield and to be honest you could of beat us by 4/5 tonight

You can take Dzeko on a free if you like

That was great, for 80 odd minutes we were much better than City. I'm sure they will argue they were missing aguero etc, but still that is a fantastic result for us. Well played boys, can't wait to head to the bridge on Saturday for the Newcastle game now!

Now that the adrenaline of the game is over, can we go back to the blatant red card the ref bottled?

What a disgraceful decision!

They also nearly had silva scoring for a free kick awarded when toure kicked Willian in the shin!

Yes, I couldn't fault anyone tonight. Maybe Eto'o should have been pulled off earlier, it was clear he had run out of puff after an excellent first half. But that's being picky, great all-round performance.

One moan is that we're still not taking our chances and it was tighter than it needed to be. Matic was amazing, exactly what we've needed, but a clinical striker would complete us.

Well played chaps, superb performance and result.

Have to say you looked the part tonight. Glimpses of a Mourinho team.

I still think City will win it, but no reason why you won't push them all the way (or indeed Arsenal).
