Just the De Rossi deal now. Roma have signed Maicon, so no need for Wallace. (I hope. No point going on loan to be second choice)

He did apparently say that, didn't he? Since then, he's probably been paid to remain quiet, like Ray Wilkins seemingly was.

I see Malouda joined Trabzonspor the other day.

I've been waiting for Malouda to speak out. I know it would make us look bad, but his situation was just so bizarre that I want to know what happened..

According to The Mirror, Wallace is going out on loan again.
Mourinho said..: "He's a very good player - but he won't be staying with us because we have Ivanovic and Azpilicueta for the same position. Because he is non-EU we'll not get the work permit, it'll be too early, so he'll go on loan for a season. We'll get the best option for him, in Europe. We want him to adapt. He's very mature for his age, comfortable with the ball. He has the quality of a Brazilian full-back, likes to attack and create. So we'll see the best of him: he has talent and is one more investment for this club, a good investment, because the kid is a very good player."

A pity, but I suppose it makes sense.

Hopefully somewhere better than Vitesse.

Here's who we've loaned out so far....

Courtois (Atletico)
Romeu (Valencia)
Marin (Sevilla)
van Aanholt (Vitesse)
Kakuta (Vitesse)
Delac (FK Vojvodina)
T. Hazard (Zolte Waregem)
Osmanovic (Larje-Angereds I.F.)
Kane (Blackburn)
B. Clifford (Yeovil)
Saville (Brentford)
Bamford (MK Dons)
Lalkovic (Walsall)
Pappoe (Colchester)

That Thorgan Hazard loan is pointless. He was there last year, recognised as one of the top players, then goes back there again for another year?? At least with the Vitesse loans (Kak and Aan) we know it was to get the van Bieber price down.

Inter are interested in Wallace. Would be a good move for him and for them.

Yep, you'd think it was time for a step up. Even Middlesboro' would have been.

From what I heard Ray should be paying us to keep quiet about why we sacked him

I've heard a few varying rumours, but still no idea which one is true if any of them?

If it's the one about telling Ron Gourlay to 'F*** Off!' though then good for him. I think we'd all like to say something similar.

What is going on with Essien this season? Will he get in your team, or will you loan him out again?

Looks like he'll stay in the squad this season, seems to be what both he and Mourinho want. He'll probably play quite a bit, especially if Mikel moves on as is rumoured.

We could do with some central midfielders, so if there was any player that you wanted to include for Rooney, he wouldn't be too bad!

Talking to one mate who works at the club and it seems his recent problems was part of the reason and he got on very well with a wife of someone he should not have got on quite so well with

For me, Luiz is a central defender,” said Mourinho. “I think he has an important quality for the football we want to play, which is to build. He’s comfortable using the ball from the back.

“In this aspect, he’s very important and different from the other central defenders. He can improve, everybody can. from a defensive point of view, he can be much more effective, much more solid. But, for me, the potential is incredible, amazing. He has to play always.”

Will be interesting to see who he thinks our best CB combo is out of Luiz/Ivanovic/Terry/Cahill.
Jokanovic

Luiz and one other. JT probably, pending form and fitness.

I think Mourinho's right, the game has changed so much in the last 20 years. The days when Tony Adams and Martin Keown were considered a perfect CB pairing are gone.
Nowadays top defenders are expected to pass and control the ball as well as midfielders. John Terry is sometimes called an "old style" central defender, but I've seen him hit plenty of pin-point accurate 30/40 yard passes.
I also think David Luiz has been a bit unlucky. He's arrived at the club when we have serious deficiencies in defensive midfield, often leaving the back four completely exposed. Solve that problem, and I think we will see that Luiz and Ivanovic will be an excellent pairing for now, with Terry and Cahill providing reliable back-up.
I say "for now" because I do think we will have to start looking around for replacements, Ivanovich and Terry are in their late 20's early 30's, but we should be ok for another season.

With Luiz it's the same attitude that has been holding back English football for the last well god knows how long, we have a image of what a a player is and does and we refuse to move from the pigeon holes. Football has moved from from a player having one role, Luiz is for me the perfect example of what a modern player should be. He is not a defender not a midfielder not a striker he a professional football player who could play anywhere on the pitch and do a professional job and do it with a smile of his face

Well we arent signing Benteke anyway, signed a new deal with Villa.

So, do we think Mourinho coming out and saying that Rooney is our only transfer target is just a smokescreen while we try and complete other deal(s) on the quiet? Will be disappointing if we don't bring in a DM as that's what we've been crying out for the most.

I've been looking at that quote. I think he's been misunderstood, and that he was referring to strikers. I believe he is still interested in finding another defensive midfield player, and Daniele de Rossi could still be a target ?
Nobody has made a move for Fellaini yet either, as far as I know. I wonder if we could make a late swoop ? But that could be just wishful thinking.

All his latest quotes have been about building and youth. He's even thrown in some FFP soundbites so I think we might see some of our kids filling out the squad. De Rossi would be welcome since DM is our weakest spot, but I'm happy with the squad so far.

Oddly, almost always with his left foot.
I used to love watching Leboeuf make those passes.

He meant striking target. I'll be pissed if we don't sign a DM.
