And Ramieres? Does he get the same hopeful wishes for his 2nd yellow and sending off for the stamp?
Why would I hope for one of my own players to get a 3 match ban?

As soon as I saw the name Foy I was concerned.
Willian sending off was ridiculous. He's our ref nemesis.
However it has to be said that we didn't play well and a pretty poor performance.
Plus it was a linesman that got the "offsides" wrong, & spotted the "Handball".

Abysmal officiating cost us with the non-existent offsides, the Matic goal, the Willian 2nd yellow. Can't argue with the Ramires red, but other than that Hoy and his linesman had a shocker. Nothing we can do about it now though, just have to put it behind us and hope to win our last 8 games.

The Matic goal was a blatant handball, it hits his bicep, not even close.

Willians second was not even a foul, first card was correct.

There was no foul in the run up to Delph goal.

Not sure why Mourinho was sent off, didnt do any different to about 6 others.

The Villa possible red card was a 50/50 one, the other defender was right there. Either red or yellow couldve been right.

Ramirez, not even debatable.

No idea why MOTD didnt show either offside - but sure there'll be wrong as the standard of linesmanship for looking in a straight line, is absolutely abysmal.

So a Mixed bag, a couple right, a couple wrong and a couple which could've gone either way and a couple not shown.

Spot on. I've looked at the Matic incident about a dozen times, definitely handball. I guessed as much at the time, Matic and the Chelsea players didn't make much of a fuss.

The Willian second yellow was totally ridiculous. It just about merited a free kick, nothing more.

Ramires, no argument, he deserved to go.

Some of the off-side decisions were laughable. I know it's not easy sometimes, but some of the calls were not even close. There was an early one where Torres was called off-side and he was clearly a couple of yards onside ! It really was abysmal officiating, in any other walk of life getting decisions wrong 50% of the time would be considered a dismal failure.

Jose won't be happy. Willian get a second yellow for next to nothing and Rafael with a clear intentional handball escapes a second yellow. Consistency at its best.....

Sad to see mata in that united team today, the players around him are not helping him play his game.

He get it in the wrong position and gets closed down and ran off the ball time after time. He needed to go to a team who play a different game , like arsenal.

Well that's it, just about the worst set of results we could have expected this weekend.

Very bad day at the office.

One of those days combined with some bad decisions from the officials.

Some good stuff from a team performance point of view while displaying the issues that have cost us for the last two season (but nowhere near to the extent as they have been in the past).

Villa are a much better team then people give them credit for and was always going to give us a tough game at their place

Why M didnt bring Frank on, only he knows. Wasnt injured was he & he always scores against Villa. Did we really beat them 8-0 last year.?
At least it look like a CL place is certain, even if its in 4th place. Bad weekend all round with the other results.
All this ranting about Foy does us no good at all, it just boost the other teams with this nonsense, Bet Ars cant wait for next week.

Maybe Frank is going to start on Tuesday? In that case I can see why he was not bought on

While the Foy ranting is not the best, I dont see what harm it does, Its just the normal saber-rattling that we get in Football nowadays. Part based on reality and part based on Jose being Jose and fans being fans. Although like Jose I would find it useful if he never was given a Chelsea game again

Arsenal will never look forward to playing Chelsea and more so with Jose in charge, Much like it has with Spur's players the record gets in their mind and although mentally Arsenal have come on from the prevous season's it will still be playing on their mind. I worry about games like Liverpool,City,Arsenal,Utd a hell of a lot less then I do when we play teams like Villa,Cardiff,Hull etc.

Champions League for next year is just about done and dusted and I am very pleased about that it was important to get in sorted ASAP.

Well its always disappointing to lose, and having 2 men(and the manager) sent off is never great...

I dont think its the end of the world, im sure Man City will slip up at some point also, we just need to push on and win as many games as possible and see what happens as far as im concerned. It might not be in our hands at the moment but if we can push them all the way then you never know what will happen.

We are looking comfortable. Let's hope we can close this out with another early in the second half and cruise home.

Can't relax until we get another, but so far, so good. Ramires seems a bit out of sorts, might be worth bringing on Mikel ? Also Oscar is on a yellow, last thing we need is to go down to 10 men.

Yes, particularly Sneijder. Used to be outstanding on his day, now he's just a shadow of the player he used to be.

Willian might want to stop shooting at the keeper.
