I missed that when it happened. How did Luiz react to it?
He just put his arms out...I don't think he was too overly bothered about it. Here's a link to it :

Arsenal end of season implosion as usual... could well miss out on CL football now?

The problem of what we do with Lukaku is coming to the fore again, do we sell him and use the funds to buy one of Cavani/Falcao/Costa? Or do you keep him? Would be happy being second fiddle to Cavani/Falcao/Costa? Im not sure, he might want to leave if he isnt guarenteed first team football regulary.

Man City and Liverpool get enough use out of 2/3 top strikers....I'm sure Lukaku would be fine here next year.

I agree, even without injuries or suspensions Lukaku would get enough enough action to keep him satisfied. it might make us think again about the "type" of striker we need though. If Jose gains some faith in Lukaku, and he proves successful, we probably wouldn't need another big front man ? A Suarez or Aguero type might suit us better. Costa looks pretty versatile ?

I'd keep him and have him in the squad next season, as long as he's at least going to be one of our top two strikers. Eto'o and Torres have both played plenty of games this season. The problem only arises when you're the third choice like Demba.

Hopefully we're not dependent on selling someone like Lukaku to finance a new striker anyway, especially considering the money we made from sales in January seeing as it wasn't all re-invested. I can see Mikel, Ba, Marin, Moses etc all being moved on too, which should bring in a reasonable amount.

We can rule out Cavani and Falcao in my opinion. Cavani would cost more money than he's probably worth, and even then I can't see him leaving PSG so soon. Falcao would be too much of a risk with his current injury situation. Costa and Martinez would be the two strikers I'd be targeting - either of those would be a good signing.

Ba wins so many headers. It changes the team.

Well done Chelsea. Was great to see Jose running down the touch line after the goal. I thought it was a sub at first didn't realise it was him! Suits me as a Liverpool supporter.. more games for Chelsea to worry about.

Well done, congratulations, you did something that I thought was beyond you in this second leg, so for once I don't mind being wrong.

You fully deserved it.

Yes, it was one of those games where I forgot all about the quality of the football, and who did what, and when. It was just nail-biting tension through to the end. Great night though, reminds me again of why I love football.

Great result, not a vintage performance but it doesnt matter. Pleased by Schurrles performance and ofcourse Ba's goal.

Semi now, no easy games left really, no matter who we end up playing. Can we go on to the final? I really dont know, but i doubt any team will fancy playing us over two legs as we have shown what we can do. Jose's CL record is absolutely incredible, seems to consistently get his teams to the semi's / final.

Well done Chelsea, you deserved to win it.

Edit: I thought you were going to struggle when Hazard got injured but you had a great sub in Schürrle who had a great game apart from the goal.

I don't usually watch the studio bits before/after the match....has Joe Cole ever been on before? He was seriously shit tonight. 2 dumb comments about Schurrle followed by making it sound like we took a gamble by taking Hazard off (and late in the match)

Liverpool v Chelsea is now sandwiched between two massive European Cup semi final ties for Chelsea.

Jose needs to win the league or the European Cup. All his criticism of Benitez will blow up in his face if he wins neither. Rafa only got half a season remember.

Congratulations. Think you could have heard the roar from my son all the way to Stamford Bridge when Ba's goal went into the net.

Why, Chel have a minmum of CL SF & comfortable 3rd place, compare with scraping 3rd last year & Europa league, which would you prefer if you had the chance?
PS wasnt the SF "Line up" already known in previous years?
