Yeh, no time confirmed yet. Should be another good test against a much stronger team (than the Milan's).

Nice goal by Schurrle, and a good assist from Moses. Our strength in depth in that area is now really good. Options, options!

I'm a lot more sold on the van Ginkel transfer now. Hope we'll see a settled team in remaining games to give them a chance to gel together before Hull.

Looks like another bid for rooney, and a possible transfer request coming this week.

The more i hear about this, the more i think he will do well for us. I hope we are not forced to pay over the odds. £30m seems about right for me - especially for a player who wants out.

Anything over 30 million and we should walk away. I think it be a great signing for us but its got to be at the right price and not a penny more. I dont see it being done until after the Utd game (Rooney costs Moyes his first game at OT dont look good) so think the main talks will be done there. While in the perfect world I would want the deal done and dusted for the start of the season, I dont blame Utd for wanting to wait and would prob want Chelsea to do the same if it was us selling a player

The transfer window should close to prevent that sort of thing happening. Why not close it before the start of the UK season?

Dont bother me at all really as I said if the shoes was on the other feet and Hazzard wanted to go Utd and Jose's first home game was Utd I would want us to drag our feet. It does swing both ways. Plus if we need Rooney to beat Hull and Villa then things are really bad.

The window closes when it closes. Either way it should not be that much of a hardship for us

I would rather that a player was in pre-season with us, scoring goals instead of changing to us 2 weeks into the season.

I just dont see the major difference it would make. We are not struggling in pre-season. He is not a some young player nor is he making a step up in terms of level of the team he is playing for. He is a very experenced player at the very top level of football and with the rescources at Chelsea and his experence whould settle into the team pretty quick.

In this case he would not be playing for us pre-season as is injured.

While if this was a perfect world it would have been done and dusted but we dont live in a perfect world. Its not like we buying from a smaller club. When you have two big clubs both have too come out of it looking like winners. They have to look like they have not caved into Rooney or Chelsea right away moreso with a new manager involved. We have to look like we have paid the right amount of money etc. These sort of deals like the season are a marathaon and take alot of time and lots of talking between 3 parties sometimes even 4 or 5. Our board are not known for their speed at the best of times. Gouley has prob spent most of this week chosing which bottles of wine to serve in the boxes with the lunch at half time

If a player like rooney or suarez wants to leave their club for another, even if it is a direct rival, how can the selling club possibly prevent this?

I suppose the only thing they could do is not sell/ play the player, but keep paying them 250000 a week!

I doubt they have any issue in selling him even to a rival but they still have to be seen doing it A) For the right price B) At the right time C)Show they not a push over.

Rooney put in a transfer request in the past SAF gets him to stay, Rooney does it again and Moyes is unable to do what SAF did and Utd cave in at Chelsea's first bid. It dont show Moyes or Utd Board in a good light to fans or media. When you dealing with two big clubs its a d*ick waving contest, At the moment we not even got to the stage where we take our jeans off

Fantastic pre-season.

Not so much the results, even though they have been great, but how we playing and so impressed with De Bruyne, Lukaku, Van Ginkel and Schurrle. Our squad was so thin last season, its great that JM has let them all know that no-one is safe, he wants them all fighting for their place.

So, bring on Real and Uncle Carlo.

I fell asleep in the second half, cant have been an overly entertaining match!

A win is a win though and the younger/new players are really impressing, its great to see.

Jose facing Real already, and Carlo is back. I have a soft spot for Carlo as i think he was unfairly sacked, he is a great coach but Abram just wanted more(and to emulate barca). Funny that its taken AVB, RDM, Rafa and now back to Jose to finally see us playing a different style to the old Jose Chelsea.

By not selling them. That's what a contract is for.

The whole 'you can't keep an unhappy player' argument is something of a myth, in my eyes.

These guys are professionals. It's their job. If they are made to honour their contracts, they'll continue to play to the best of their ability. It's in no-one's interest for them to start sulking/stop trying/whatever.

The window closes when it does, as we are not the only league that matters, there are other leagues which have different start times, so there has to be a compromise as to when it closes.

Definitely shouldn't go above £30m for Rooney. Best leave it now until after the United game, then hope United see sense and take it. Or, that we see sense and leave it.......

Turnbull off to a great start at Doncaster.
