Torres was still nothing like the striker we need up front, Lukaku looked livelier in the brief spell he had. But I couldn't help thinking what a mouth watering prospect it would be to have a really proven striker to feed off our fabulous playmakers.
I was really impressed with De Bruyne in the first half, Oscar and Hazard were also great in that period. But the real tests are yet to come, Ramires and Lampard will have few easier games than this one, and the back four were rarely troubled.
Excellent result, three points, and some beautiful football for a while. But I'm not going to get carried away.
