Really hope the Mata rumours are just that,he is a player that I would not want to see leaving the club.

Rumours this is a Roman buy which makes me uneasy. Of the old Shakhtar boys, would rather we'd spent the money on Fernandinho. Him and Ramires in CM would have made much more sense. Watching him and Toure earlier this week reminded me of the early Jose years when teams wouldn't get much change going through the middle of us and we looked strong all round.

Willian, are you joking? Im mindboggled by this signing, £30m for a player who has only ever played in Ukraine/Russia? And is 25? Not even near the brazilian national team either. We have enough attacking midfielders so what the hell is going on? I seriously think Mata could be leaving and possibly Moses, from this signing.

Mata's not a Mourinho type of player, Mourinho prefers muscular ball winners. I can't see Mata fitting his plans.

Its a fair point and one the media have been saying all summer - hes been rumoured to be on his way out, but ive refused to believe it since he was our best player last season and the season before. Seems stupid to sell your best player i guess. A Swap deal with Rooney could be likely...

Well, he won't get that with Willian either.

The transfer doesn't make sense to me on any level, it's the sort of signing you would make if you had all bases covered, a luxury purchase. But that's not where we are, we have glariing weaknesses, at the back, in defensive midfield, and up front.

I'm getting bored of people saying certain players ain't a Mourinho type player just because they are not that strong. By this logic pretty much every Real Madrid player should have been sold.

Mata is going NOWHERE, the only people that have said this are the media, Mourinho himself said he won't be selling him.

Yes, he was a wonderful player back in those days. But he was never really the same after the surgery on his knee. There were still few glimpses of what he could do, but they were few and far between. Sad really.

Willian......hmmm, not sure how many more attacking midfielders we need Maybe there's some legs in the Mata leaving rumours. I hope it's all press BS and likewise I don't like all this talk of Mata to United and we get Rooney. Now if it were Mikel and not Mata.............well United did want Mikel a few years ago

I'm dreading Monday night to be honest. I think everything's set up for something to go wrong big-time. Rooney to come on and score a couple, then declare he's perfectly happy staying with United ? In the meantime they will sign Fellaini, a player who would really have made a difference to Chelsea.

When the dust settles, and the transfer window closes, I wonder who will be the winners and losers ? Adding Schurrie and Willian to an already crowded attacking midfield doesn't seem the smartest moves to me. But Jose is no fool, so all we can do is sit back and see how things unfold.

Maybe the reason why we're not strengthening our CM area is because Mou is looking to push Oscar/KDB deeper? So many unanswered questions right now.


I just don't buy into this whole Mou hates Mata thing. What reason has Mou got to not play Mata? Is it because he's Spanish and he's a small, technical gifted player? *Yawn* Not this old nutshell again... (not aiming this at you, but at people who put 2 and 2 together but make 5!)

Mata has been our player of the season twice in a row now. We're hardly a selling club as it is and we're going to give one of our best players to a direct rival? Even if Mou did contemplate about selling Mata, due to the highly inflated football market he has to be worth at least £50m.
