That was shocking from Cole.

They bring on Giggs, we leave Mata on the bench.

Incredibly turgid game in the end.

Terry was fantastic tonight - best performance in a very long time. Ivanovic and Oscar were both very good....everyone else? Not so much. Happy we didn't lose, but sick of saying the same thing after every match.

Fair result in the end, both teams desperate not to lose rather than trying to win i thought. Classic Jose really, i dont know why fans would expect any less. Especially when away to Man Utd.

Draw is a good result for us, and if we keep this up we will definitely be title challengers.

Frustrating to watch. Sometimes you wonder what goes through managers' minds.... do they not see the same issues that us fans do?

After being somewhat surprised by Jose's starting XI that was a good solid performance.
How did KDB got booked for being assaulted

We looked a lot more solid at the back, I'm pleased about that. Even Lampard and Ramires held their own, but that's probably more to do with United being weak in attacking midfield, and lacking a playmaker.
Still, a good result. I feared the worst, so it's a relief really.

Jesus. Get a grip, eh?

De Bruyne shouldn't have been booked, but it was nowhere near a deliberate elbow.

Definitely looked better in defence, but I'd disagree about Ramires and Lampard. I thought they looked poor...especially in the first half.

Not a good game but happy with a point. Good to see JT and Cahill play so well.

Not the best game but a good point and good to see that the defence looking so solid. There was times last year that everytime the opposition got the ball in our half it looked like they were going to score.
Oscar was one of our best players tonight.

No, perhaps I should have phrased it differently. They just didn't look too troubled is all I meant. But Oscar helped them out a lot, he was everywhere..particularly in the first half.

Next Premiership game not until 14th September !

Agreed. He'd be great next to Ramires. Dropping him deeper would benefit us in so many ways.

Urgh. International matches come around far too quickly.

Really hope Mata gets a game on Friday.

Abramovich sacked Jose for exactly this kind of shite!!!

I had my doubts about Jose returning, but already my mind has been made up!
Rafa was bringing the best out of Hazard, but he now looks a shadow of that. player.
Jose fancies the likes of KDB and Schurle, who are no better than the Kalu and the other second rate rubbish we've just got rid of, over our best player of the last two seasons.

If all you care about is your team grinding out results and don't give a toss about skill, flair, excitement and entertainment, then fine! Jose is the man for you!

Early last season you were criticising Mata and Hazard despite them carrying us through most matches. You said Ba was worse than Torres after only a few matches. You're now saying de Bruyne and Schurrle are comparable to Kalou. You also describe Lukaku as a 'crude lump' after 17 goals in 30-ish matches last year.

Surprised it took you so long to give up on Jose.

Load of toss, it wasnt like we parked the bus(even if some man utd fans claim so), we did play some nice football at stages. Schrulle was playing as an out and out striker(and has done before for Leverkusen).

And anyway, true fans will surely value winning the league over coming 3rd/4th while playing "beautifully", even if we have to play defensively in some games. Jose is a born winner and he will do what it takes to win the league.

Mourinho says another player will be chosen in next 24 to 48 hours if Wayne Rooney is not coming

What other AM/wingers are Spurs looking at? Lamela?

Skill, flair and excitement don't disappear just because you keep things tight and defend from the front.
To be honest, I don't want to see us winning or losing 5-4. It's entertaining, but it's not how football should be played..in my opinion. I want to see us win, or failing that draw..not entertain.
I agree with you about Mata, beats me what Jose's thinking there is all about. Same with Lukaku, surely it was worth bringing him on tonight ? The guy must be wondering what he has to do after the success he had in pre-season.

Well, I did guess that we'd bid for him today. Still 29 minutes to go....

Not half as bad a game as some are suggesting, thought it was an interesting contest all in all. Probably a fair enough result in the end.

I tend to agree. Think both teams were happy with a point.

Yes, the game kept me engrossed from start to finish. The result was always in the balance.
Probably not so good for neutrals, but clubs don't have an obligation to entertain viewers..or do they ? That's going back to the argument above.

The only negative thing i can recall saying about Mata, was him ruuning out of steam in the second half of his first season.
Hazard started well in his first few games last season, but imho he was fading fast until Rafa tookover, and it was then that he really started to show consistent talent,
I maintain Lukaku is a lump. Ba and Torres aren't looking any better, and i've never seen anything from KDB or Shurrle, to suggest they are better than what we already had.

Take your Chelsea hat off and listen to the stick we are already getting from neutrals.

It's not a load of toss at all!!!

It's beyond debate that Abramovich became unhappy and bored with the pragmatic football that Jose brings to the table.
It's yet another bizzare turn of events that he's now prepared to put up with a win at all cost style of football after all these years, especially after buying the likes of Hazard and Mata, and making them central to the way forward for the team.
Truly bizzare and muddled thinking, even by our clubs standards.
