Wonderful move and a great finish by Torres. They have had more chances though, we are lucky to be still in front. Luiz beginning to settle down after a shaky start, he doesn't look happy playing on the left of the CB pairing in my opinion.
Ramires is having an excellent game, the work he gets through is amazing. Schurrie and Hazard making some good runs. We look very dangerous on the break, but I'd like to see us with more possession.

Ivanovich is having a nightmare, not at fault for the goal, but he's not been picking up Ribery all night.

F**king dreadful penalty from Lukaku,

Couldn't have been prouder, they worked their ass's off out there tonight. I very much doubt any other team can take the kind of pressure we took today. Rival fans call us class less they need to take look at themselves.

A Pep Guardiola team of cheats and divers win another trophy.

True! But I'd rather we blew this game than one that really mattered!

His technique is simply way short for a top four team!
Not just the pen, but another example was after he won the thrown-in just after coming on. A simple, short throw-in onto his head and the ball bounced off it like it was a rubber ball.

Drogba was a big, strong brute, but along with that, he had a great athletic ability to go along with all his other atributes.
Sadly, with Luka, i feel like i'm watching a Heavyweight Boxer thats been turned into a footballer.
Hand on my heart, i hope he goes on to prove me 100% wrong, but i doubt he will at this level.

Yes, they worked their asses off, and imo it was a much better allround performance than the one aginst UTD.

I keep going on about this, but yet again, when we uped the pace and went on the offensive, we looked a much better team, not only to watch, but in order to get the right result.

As for Pep's teams being cheats?
Sadly, there's too much of it around now to single out his, or any team.
What i will say is, i wouldn't put a penny on them winning the CL this season!

Really?

Which side had a player sent off?

Which club empoyed Drogba for many years.

So close . Good match though. Much happier with this showing than the tanking against Atletico Madrid last season.

Must admit Lukaku was not very impressive. I was disappointed with his work rate, as a fresh pair of legs he should have been closing players down and putting himself about a bit more. But it was a massive game for him, coming on against Bayern, us down to ten men, then he had to take a vital penalty. I'll reserve judgement, but for probably the first time, Torres would be my choice for the next game.
Exciting game though, a few more seconds and the cup was ours. Some great backs-to-the-wall performances, but let's hope we don't need to do that very often. We don't seem to have the ability to just hold the ball and push it around any more ?

I know Mourinho likes to talk with tongue in cheek to wind up the media, but his comments after the game were embarrassing. We weren't the best team, and the Ramires tackle was worthy of a straight red.

Yeah he was fine to send off Ramires, but ignored all of their diving and Ribery constantly pushing our players in the face/head to get a reaction out of them. It was like watching Barcelona all over again. Let's not forget about their players running up to the ref trying to pressure him into sending our players off, that was very Barcelona like.

And you say that about Drogba, yeah he was a diver and i never supported that, but at least he changed.

Pep Guardiola is bad for the game.

Much better. I know we conceded twice, but our defensive work was very good for the second match in-a-row. Hazard and Oscar tracking back, plus Chaill throwing himself at everything......Luiz looking good for his first game back. If we can keep that up it's only the other end that'll need work.

Eto'o better get working on his fitness. Can't see Mourinho using Lukaku much and I'm still hoping Torres will vanish. Either to another team or just....literally. Ba not likely to stay beyond Monday either.

Glad Chalobah signed a new 5 year deal. And we've already loaned the new guy to Vitesse for the year + rejected a loan offer for van Ginkel.
Next few days are going to be frustrating as hell.

I'm not sure it's all down to Guardiola, Bayern have always had a nasty streak. Mind you, we were well up for it as well. There were some tasty battles going on.

Feeling warmer towards Torres tonight with his performance. Looking forward to seeing what state Eto'o is in. Hopefully we'll have options and have at least one striker in form at any given time.

So proud of the team, I just love our grit and determination when we went down to 10 men.

Oscar was amazing, so was Cech, Hazard and Gary.

Don't be harsh on Lukaku, he's a young inexperienced player in big games, so wasn't exactly sure why he was our 5th pen taker. Torres just loves a European game, doesn't he!

And Rami definitely deserved to be sent off.

After last year's debarcle, we showed good account of ourselves.

I lot of people are praising Oscar's performance but i wasn't impressed, defensively he worked as hard as anyone, but offensively i thought he was awful. He couldn't get a pass or shot right all night. Schurrle put in the simplest of tap ins for him but he got all fancy and screwed it up. And we could have put the game to bed if he got his pass right for Hazard, again i thought he messed it up, he also gave the ball away in some dangerous places.

Drogba was the biggest diver in the history of football, yet he single handedly won you lads a European Cup.

What an entertaining game last night, and as others have said a performance to make us proud. Not losing any sleep over the result - would've been nice to win but in a game like that it's not the be all and end all, as long as we do ourselves justice which we certainly did. Plenty of positives to take from it. Fantastic opening goal too - if only Torres could consistantly play more like he does in Europe.

We really do put up a fight with 10 men, and don't just crumble like certain other English sides in Europe.

Not with me. I'd still like to see him get a start sooner rather than later to see how he goes. Always much harder coming into a game as a sub, especially against a team of the calibre of Bayern when we're a man down.

Yes, dreadful penalty from Lukaku and judging by the shocked expression on his face you could see he knew he'd screwed up!
But like Dixon said, rather this game than in another more important one.
He's young and still learning. Let's hope he learns quickly.

Overall, i'd like to see us keep the ball more and not play on the counter so much. But defensively we were good and just a few seconds from another trophy.
