I don't think you can judge any player on penalties. Some of the best players in the world have failed miserably. Blast it, try to place it or send the keeper the wrong way, they can all go wrong.
I always think it strange when a world class player blasts it over the bar. Even if you're only a pub player, the goal still looks a large target from the penalty spot.

Moses on loan to Liverpool, not really too big of a shock. He was never going to get a game with the players we have now.

I agree slightly, they seem weird signings, but we have to give them a chance now we have them. Moses wasnt really lighting the world on fire and KDB is still young.

We have strengthened the only parts of our team that didnt need it and in the process will lose players who are quality but didnt get a chance.

Moses has been fine, for the limited opportunities he has had, and KDB looks good too - a great prospect.

KDB too. Our squad looks good. City were terrible defensively against Hull yesterday and as for Man U, they didn't look too convincing against Liverpool today. Still early days of course but if they don't make any signings, the title is there for our taking.

There's no two ways about it. It was a crap pen but beating himself over it won't do him or the team any good. It was really sweet to see Luiz and the rest of the team consoling him after the match. You could tell how much that pen meant to him. He'll become a better player because of this experience for sure!

Not sure of the united v liverpool was a good result for us or not. It certainly seemed to display the vulnerability in the champions' team.

I think they will find, as weeks go by, sticking with a manager becomes increasing difficult. They may have thought that their team was not vulnerable to the managerial merry-go-round after Fergie, but todays result has proved already that fans have little patience.

Especially with quotes after the game from Moyes like:

"I thought we played really well. I could tell why we're champions today"

With them so vulnerable, we should push on as much as we can.

Pretty convinced Man Utd will make a signing or two before the window shuts after that defeat, that will have given Moyes a kick up the arse im sure. Fellaini and Baines are pretty likely. Spurs dont look too great without Bale but have a lot of new signings who will take a bit of time to settle in. Arsenal are Arsenal. Id agree Man City diddnt look great yesterday either.

Just been catching up with the footy from earlier. Good to see United lost, Liverpool did us a favour there. Also glad Arsenal beat Spurs, as I can't see Arsenal doing anything more than their standard thing this season anyway, whereas Spurs are still very much an unknown quantity with so many new signings.

Yes he a good player and played really well for West Brom but there is a difference between playing for Chelsea and for West Brom. He somewhere in between at the moment. We sadly dont have time for players to learn, Jose made a mistake and hopefully the player will use to as something to help take him to the next level

We played better then we did last year against a tougher team so thats a improvement.

It did not tell us anything we did not know before the game in that we need a striker, Its well and good fans saying we should have bought one but there was not one available at the level we needed. Its no point us buying a stiker because we need a striker. I rather we found a way to work around the issue until one is available and that is what it looks like we trying to do.

I see this statement banded around, but give me something which suggests a fair amount of LFC fans are saying this? Noone in the LFC camp thinks they're title contenders, and still 4th place will be seen as the ceiling and a major achievement.

Chelsea will definitely be favs this season, despite the unexpected bright start for Liverpool. I'll be shocked tbh if Chelsea finish outside the top 2, along with City.

How do you know there wasn't a striker available at the level we needed? There were (Falcao/Cavani), we just didn't want to pay the money that the French teams did to secure them. Besides those two, there's plenty of other good strikers around that would likely have improved us. Considering how mediocre Torres and Ba are, it wouldn't have been difficult to have signed better than what we already have, which is surely worth doing? Otherwise it's like cutting off your nose to spite your face just because you can't sign the crème de la crème. Hopefully Eto'o will do a job for us this season anyway, and Lukaku continue to develop.

Its easy to say but its got to be spent on the right striker and not just a random top striker plucked from the latest Playstation game. I dont see any "right" striker around for us at the moment that is worth us investing 50 million on.

Jose is paid mega money not to suggest ways of spending Roman's money but to work with what we have and can get within the framework of the club. When the right player comes along yes I expect us to try and get him (as we have done with Rooney) but until then this random buying of players with the thought "oh he might work" has not worked and never will.

We should one of the shortest shopping list of players in the league as we should only be looking at those who are the very very very best, There will only be a couple of those players around and even less available as clubs wont want to part with those players. So we need to work harder to make those player force their current clubs hands. Its not easy but thats why we need a strong board to do those type of deals, I have very little faith that we have those people in place.

Because those players was not worth the money. They had a couple of good seasons and was going at a very high premium. We can not keep chucking money around, We have done that for 10 years now and its got to stop. We have to look at our buys with our brains and not just excited at the latest football darling. We have had enough egg on our faces with signings I dont want any more.

Falcao was £46m in transfer fee, less than what we paid for Willian and Schurrle combined, a couple of players we didn't need. If spending £30m on Willian isn't chucking money around then i don't know what is!

I thought i heard 60 somewhere but you also have to look at some very silly wages for him. Even at 46m I would say it was too high. I dont see value for money at that figure for him.

30M for Willian is a decent amount of money for him (as I thought that figure was right for Falco). I think thats a reasonable fee for him. It dont matter if I or you or talkshite think we need him, The club does.

It's nothing but a false statement these days to say Liverpool fans "think it's their year"

We haven't thought its our year since 2008, I haven't come across a single Liverpool fan who think we've been capable of winning the league for about 5 years. We are top of the league which is great but I'm not expecting a title race, no one is.

Do you honestly think Willian and Falcao are worth the same transfer fee? Falcao's a great player, the same can't be said of Willian - he's ok but we've already got better.
