Sure would be nice to start a match like we did the second half today. Stupid red card (regardless of how Torres was behaving) ruined what could have been a great finale......fair result in the end.

What a stupid decision. Nothing in that at all
Ref had a poor game. Very inconsistent. Even with Torres' first booking, he only booked him but not Vertonghen when it either should've been both or neither. I had a feeling Dean was going to show one of our players a second yellow though. |

Great second half performance. Mata made all the difference.
Torres had an excellent game. Unlucky to be sent off. Happy with a point. |

Was a 50/50. The mistake Torres made was not staying down after the clash like Dawson.

Just noticed it was ridiculous bit of play acting by Vertoghen to get Torres sent off. Holding his face? Was nowhere near it.

the first booking was for the trip, not the coming together with him and Vertonghen

not really, he'd already been spoken to once or twice by the ref at that point. it was a definite yellow.

Torres could have gone several times. Justice in the end.

Great second half Mata made all the difference when he came on after a so so first half.
How good was Torres two matches in a row for him now that he was great, harsh sending off. Think a draw was a fair result. |

Missed the game due to work
![]() From the posts above it sounds like Spurs 1st half and Chelsea 2nd half until Torres was sent off. Guess i'll just have to wait for MoTD. Also sounds like Hazard needs to up his game. That's a few limp performances this season |

1-1 was a fair result and I thought we played well especially in the second half, a draw away to spurs is a good result IMO. Fair play to the team today

Genuinely not wanting to be biased here but I didn't think he did anything much before the trip, which seemed pretty innocuous itself? The incident he possibly should have been booked for was when him and Vertonghen squared up immediately after it, but then that would have meant Vertonghen having a yellow too at that point which would have put him in danger of being sent off too (considering the later foul he made when Ramires was bursting through towards goal).
Maybe i'll give it a 2nd look on MOTD later though. |

A bad tempered game, I thought a draw was probably a fair result. Torres was certainly up for it though, he made a couple of great runs and was a bit unlucky to have been sent off. Spurs appeared to be under instructions to kick anything that moved in the second half, silly really because they appeared to have the beating of us in the first half.
I would have taken a draw before the game, so it's not a bad result. It's a pity that two sides who are both capable of playing great football resorted to so many petty fouls, and I would say most of the blame must be levelled at Spurs..despite the sending off. |

Torres was excellent today. He was causing all sorts of problems for Spurs' defence, linked up well and good movement. Keep it up Fernando!
Mata totally stole the show in the second half. As soon as he came on, our attacking threat ramped up 1000x. If there were any question marks over Mata, he answered them all on the pitch today. Great professional, and I'm so glad he's playing for Chelsea! |

Would be great to assume that performance will end Mata's semi-exile, but I wouldn't bet on it. Much as I like Oscar we're nowhere near as dangerous with him as our main playmaker.
No idea what's going on with Hazard, but the guy needs a serious kick up the arse. |
