As you've done that, here's the stats for Jackson Martinez seeing as I thought we should have gone in for him too....

Played 10, Scored 9

Torres was very good the other night, credit where it's due. No-one's going to get too excited though until he starts replicating his European form in the Premier League, that is our number 1 priority this season. It'll be interesting to see who starts against City out of him and Eto'o. It's a dilemma for Mourinho for sure.

It is great to get the european cups out of the way and in the cabinet.

I think the obsession cost us 2 league titles, but it was worth it.

Thought it was a really good performance and winning 3-0 away in Europe is difficult whoever you are playing, nevermind Schalke.

Looked very good on the counter which is great news.

Man City at the weekend is a massive game and they werent too convincing tonight. Bit of a selection headache for Jose. Torres or Etoo, will Mata start?

Massive game tommorow, cannot wait. A win would put us right up there whereas a loss would be a dent to our title challenge. Ill go for a 1-1 draw, which wouldnt be a terrible result given our recent record against the new Man City.

My other thought is how long before people start to consider Arsenal as serious title contenders? is it now? they could easily have drawn or lost today when they went down to 10 men but still won 2-0. They are looking impressive i gotta say. I guess everyone is just expecting the inevitable Wenger mid season collapse at some point.

Yes, I suppose we have to consider Arsenal serious contenders now. I was one of those who had doubts, but they appear to have found some consistency. I still think they lack depth compared with Man City and ourselves, a few injuries could find them wanting.

Big game for Man City and Chelsea today. The main contenders didn't slip up yesterday, and I can't see Spurs getting less than 3 points against Hull today. They were saying on the radio, both teams have combined talent worth £750m available (don't know if that's true or not)..wow ! It could be a classic, but I'd settle for a boring 1-0.

Ramsey's form and a proper signing have given them a massive lift, but I wouldn't consider them title challengers yet. Next 10 games will be interesting, but even if they come out of it well I'd still expect them to fade - too many problems from recent seasons that even Ozil can't fix.

Today...I'd settle for a draw. Our form is horrible against them.

Great work for the goal. Really surprised at how this is going so far....Man City not looking in it at all.

I think Clichy was as surprised as everyone else by that turn of pace from Torres!

Oooh....so close to 2-0.

This is one time I'd settle for going 2-0 and sitting on it.

Wow..what a goal that would have been. Torres is on fire at the moment.

That would have been an unbelievable goal I was jumping out or my sofa there! Torres looking like he can do anything.... Except score a sitter 1on1 with hart ;D

Great first half I thought. Have to give Webb his due today, he's letting a lot of tasty challenges go in midfield and the game is better for it. It could still go either way though, Aguero is a right handful, dangerous every time he touched the ball.
