Comfortable win in the end. 3 goals, all scored by our strikers - been a while since anything like that happened, hasn't it?

Basel drawing means we're firmly in control of this group now. And Sunderland next for us in the League Cup.

Great result and yes all our Strikers scoring

Great second goal from Eto'o but what a save from Chec just before the goal.

Not a great performance but excellent result. One more win guarantees top of the group.

Will be interesting to see who starts against West Brom. Ba looked more creative during his cameo, but Eto'o more clinical. Have to be happy with that though. Strikers scoring, Willian and Mikel looking good, Azpilicueta getting some playing time. Nice to bounce back from the Newcastle result.

Lets not forget torres also played well the other day too.

could we really start to have scoring strikers?

Looks like a bit of conflict between Hazard and Jose today. Left out of the team due to "missing training".

I think Torres will still be out injured this weekend. I like that we're not dependent on any one player for a result and different ones step up as needed. They've gone on about Hazard being punished for missing training, but a little discipline never hurt anyone and he was smiling and joking with the bench during the match so doesn't seem too put out by it.

He said he made a mistake and that is what kids do. All seems to have been forgiven now though because he said he would be involved in the league game. Maybe Hazard apologised.

Good performance but i am not getting ahead of myself, we need to keep it going. I am fed up with getting excited one game only to be let down in the next.

Comfortable win and good to see our strikers score. Once again - Cahill + Terry = solid.

Yeah agreed that we look much better in defence when Luiz isnt at the back. I still think our best midfield pairing is probably Luiz and Ramires, but there is probably next to no chance of Luiz being played in midfield sadly.

Good to see our strikers getting some goals, was impressed with both Etoo and Ba. Competition for places appears to be helping up top when you compare to last season when all we had was an unmotivated Torres. Now all 3 seem to be impressing when they get a chance which is only good for us.

Agreed, the stats speak for themselves when those 2 play together. Mourinho really needs to just stick with that partnership rather than chopping and changing between Cahill and Luiz.

What was needed after Newcastle. Yes it was not a great performance but all the players played at a decent level (good enough to beat most teams we will play). Hopefully it will carry forawrd to the weekend and another good win

Nervy first half but good result and better performance second half.

Eto'o is a g/k's nightmare - I love the fact he is so hungry like that.

I am glad JM is being tough. No-one is undroppable and Eden misses training so misses the game.

Though I would like to see who our best XI is at some point, we need some fluidity, and whilst Arsenal's squad is not deep, which could be a problem for them if they have injuries, you can see that a first XI that plays regularly creates balance and familiarity. We make a lot of changes every game.

Oh and remind me never to do an accumulator again.

Dortmund decide to not score at home, despite having only managed to not score at home twice in the past 60 odd games!

Cost me £168!

Just your luck

Good win yesterday, I only managed to watch the last third of the game but we looked very good on the counter. Willian is really making a claim for a first XI spot and it's great to see all our strikers scoring!

Good result and a job well done in the end. I don't want to be a killjoy, but if I'm honest I don't think we learnt much from the game.
In my opinion, It's too easy to say Cahill and Terry should be our centre back pairing. Luiz is still a tremendous player to have driving foward from deep positions, and he's a better passer of the ball than either of them. Same with Mikel, he had a decent game but doesn't create much. Short passes sideways or back appear to be his limit. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased to see him keeping things simple, and his positioning was a lot better.
As a footballer, I don't think Schurrle is in the same class as Hazard. But he works hard and is always looking for a chance to shoot. We'll just have to leave it to Jose to sort that one out.
Willian had the best 45 minutes I've seen him play in a Chelsea shirt, another problem for Mourinho. I think Mata is the better all round player, but what do I know ?
Great 2nd goal by Eto'o, perhaps the first glimpse we've had of the player he used to be. But for much of the first half he was no real threat, playing more like an additional midfielder.
That's not meant to appear gloomy, we're doing ok but I just think we're a long way from being the finished article.

I still haven't a clue what our best team is...I've an idea what I think it should be, but then a couple of players will fail to impress. Of course, none of that matters providing we keep on winning, but the Newcastle game brought us down to earth with a bump.

An added bonus if they can do it, but they're not the primary jobs of a defender though, are they? If we concede more goals with Luiz playing than we do with Cahill, Cahill should absolutely be ahead of him.

I don't think David Luiz is a better passer than Terry, i have seen Terry move the ball out of the defense a lot better than David Luiz this season. Luiz just pumps the ball up field or hit's the ball at ridiculous speeds to the others players feet. Terry's passing is very underrated.

Luiz driving forward is one of the reasons i am not a big fan of him, i don't think he picks the right moments to do it. Him bombing forward like he does leaves gaps in the team. He also can't contain, all he does is rush into tackles and a lot of the time he gives away a foul. I just don't think he is a good defender.

About Mikel now, you say he doesn't create much, that isn't what he is in the team to do. He is protecting the defense and i think he did that well last night. Not all players need to be creative, Makelele would never set up a goal but nobody was complaining then. But in the long term i don't think Mikel is the answer, too often he has a mistake in him that leads to a goal and i would still much rather see Essien there.

There's a rumour some players have turned against Luiz over his attitude on the pitch and want him axed.
I can't say i blame them if that is true.
Time to ship him out, imho.

I'd sell Luiz if we're offered £30m+ for him and buy a better centre-back. He turns 27 later this season, and shows no signs of maturing defensively. If Mourinho used him in midfield I'd say hang onto him, but as that's not the case....

Strange, there were a number of posters tipping him to be our next captain not so very long ago ?
You certainly couldn't doubt his commitment to the cause before this season, he made some stupid errors but never gave less than 100% on the pitch.

I thought he was showing real signs of progress and maturing under Rafa, but he's taken huge steps backwards this season.
Then again, it has to be said that Rafa was also bringing out the best in Mata and Hazzard, but they've also gone backwards this season.
I would also say that Rafa used Lamps much better than Jose is doing! He's playing, or at least starting, far too many games and is simply wasting his talents being played so deep.
