No pressure, Eden....

Marriner is an absolute disgrace to officiating. He's consistently useless

I dont think we should be celebrating this.

Not a penalty in a million years (but taken well)

Cool penalty, but I don't like poor decisions. Terrible performance....I really hope Jose lets rip at the players after that.

edit: I agree, no way they should be celebrating.

It was still an embarrassment. They absolutely squandered a chance to make it 1-3 and we would have been headline news.

Instead, the ref gave a bad decision.

I dont think Ram dived, he didnt really claim it, and it looked like play went on for an age before the ref gave it!

I don't understand how someone as consistently useless as Marriner can stay on the Elite List. It's like there's no threat to them

I agree Ramires didn't dive. There wasn't simulation just some absolutely awful decision making by Marriner

Didn't see the match but was watching Soccer Sat. and they said that the Penalty was contraversal, don't like that.

My brother was over at the match will speak to him when he gets home and see what he made of our overall play

What is it with us in the month of November

I can't believe I missed Fed/Del Potro for this horrible performance. Ref gave us the point today; we really need to start learning how to play at a high intensity throughout the match. Oh and words can't describe how much I hate November...

Watched the game. Fortunate to get a point. Build up play is far too slow. Lamps looks shot to me. Mata should be starting, end of.

Was at the bridge today and I thought we were pretty terrible, fans around me thought the same. Lucky to get a point IMO, again we dominated the first half but diddnt create enough.

They bossed the second half and could have been 3-1 up, very poor imo

I just don't get how we can have so many creative players that don't actually create, it's incredibly frustrating. For goodness sake, we have the most talented midfielders in the prem and they can't create more than 1 chance a game, it's pathetic. Oscar isn't even in the same league as Mata for me, Mata may well not track back as well but so what ? attacking centre midfielders are about creating chances, Oscar seems to be getting into the team based on work rate alone right now because he certainly isn't offering anything to the attack. For the amount of talent that midfield has it's embarrassing with how little we actually create.

Also that holding midfield position is doing my head in now. Lampard is my favourite player ever, but he is gone. His legs have given up on him and he hasn't had a great game for the club all season. It's sad to see but it's something we all need to accept, especially Mourinho. Essien or Mikel must come in for me until we can find a better DM, which is something we should have done in the summer. Also i wouldn't mind seeing Oscar play deeper and drop Ramires. Oscar works just as well as Ramires tracking back and tackling, he may not be as quick as Ramires but he is a better passer of the ball. I feel everything Ramires does is rushed and his dribbling when running past players is all luck. I also don't see any composure with Ramires, it's all one paced with him, he doesn't know when to play slow and when to play fast.

Also, get Ivanovic away from that RB position, he is great at getting forward but he can't cross. Move Azpilicueta to RB and rotate Ivanovic and Cahill for the CB role, i still see no reason to bring Luiz back in.

Mourinho's an embarassment when he comes out with statements like the one on MOTD that WBA will change their opinions when they watch the replay of the penalty. Utterly inane statement.

He seems to be getting more and more deluded as he gets older

I didn't see the interview, but isn't this what Mourinho has always done? I doubt he actually believes a lot of the stuff he says, it's just a ploy to divert attention away from the team after a poor performance and onto him. It seems to work quite a lot of the time too.

Ferguson did it all the time with United, did you think he was deluded ? if you did then you were well off, it's all mind games.

Agree with so much if this. We just done create enough chances to score. We seem to have so many functional players who don't have the creative spark. Mata not playing really is ridiculous.
I wouldn't start Lamps for the foreseeable. If he is not scoring goals then he offers very little at the moment.
The only saving grace is we are playing poorly yet only a few points off the top. Need to start winning these type of games though.

Yes, I agree with much of that as well. Where I disagree is in the cause of our failure to score. I think we are very capable in build up play but lack any real cutting edge.
It's not only a consistent striker up front that we lack, we need a secondary striker who is always looking for an opportunity to find the net. This season Suarez, Rooney and Aguero are doing a terrific job for their respective clubs. They all play off the front man, but could play as the main striker as well.
Mata was getting goals last season but now appears out of favour. But I'm not even sure if he quite fills the bill. I though Hazard might step up, he's scoring a few but is still a long way short of being the real goal threat that we need. We have an abundance of playmakers, skillfull players who are comfortable on the ball, but the opposition seem able to just sit deep and take a rest while we push the ball around.
I know some people hate stats (so do I ) but you can't ignore them entirely. We again had nearly 70% of the possession with little to show for it. There's something wrong there.

Adds to the frustration. Once again, the league is wide open....and we can't find any consistency to take advantage.

The other teams at the top seem determined to let us get away with poor results, but we have still dropped 5 points in our last two matches which isn't good enough.

^ Indeed. As much as i hate the international breaks I think this has probably come at a decent time for us. Gives Mourinho time to think about what's going wrong hopefully before the 2 disappointing results turn into an even worse run.
