My brother was at the match yesterday and was saying that the build up play is so slow and we have a lot of possession but no final pass much like what other's on here were saying.

Also said that he thought at the time that Rameries was no penalty (he was sitting near the goals).

Think the international break has came at a good time and the results earlier on today have made the result not as bad as it was yesterday.

Well in the end we gained a point on the main challengers aside from United of course.
As bad as we are playing still only 4 points off the top, which I guess is some consolation.

This weekend could have been a lot worse, we could have got 0 points and Arsenal / Spurs / Man C could have all won and we would have bene out of the top 4, luckily everyone seems to be dropping points right now and noone looks likely of a good run of results. Still, we should be doing better at the moment, IMO.

Why are we so dire to watch recently?

Amazing that we still managed to gain a point on Spurs, Arsenal and City.

Glad that our usual dreaded November will have 2 weeks eaten up by international football.

As frustrating as we are to watch at the moment, I was reminded yesterday that things could be worse - we could be Spurs! 9 goals in 11 games, a third of them penalties!

I don't think we are always boring to watch. In the last 2 league games we have been very boring but in the Champions League and the recent games against Arsenal and City we have played some decent football.

Only in patches though. For example the first half against Schalke last week was a very frustrating watch, only lifted by the goal right before half-time. Even then it was down to a moment of opportunism from Eto'o rather than any good team play.

Chelsea linked strongly with Falcao today.

Is he worth the 60 million?

(Probably funded through the sale of Luiz, Mata etc)

Linked with Falcao when he was a Porto player. Then linked again when he was at Atletico Madrid. Linked oncemore now as he's at Monaco. I'm not raising any hopes!!

I was watching a documentary on the cold war on BBC2 last night and they featured a piece on Chelsea playing Dynamo Moscow not long after the war ended
It showed the entrance to Stamford Bridge advertising Greyhound racing. Didn't know there was a dog track at the Bridge
(It's on i-player and is at the very start of the program if anyone wants to check out what the Bridge used to look like)

Yep, there was a dog track alright. Once games on a Saturday finished they started getting ready for the meetings.
There were tote stands at the Shed End.
Think it was the arrival of the East Stand when the track started to disappear though the rest took ages to go.

It said on the program that there were 75,000 'paying' and 15,000 on the street outside trying to find a way in. On the footage it shows loads of people climbing on everything to try and get in ( it finished 3-3 btw)

I was there when we won the first Div 1 title, 1955? no tickets then, you just "Turned up", 75,000 both games (Wolves/Portsmouth), as a lad we were allowed on to the dog track to watch.

Big moment for Lamps tonight.

Leading his 2 girls out as mascots and being given the Golden Cap by Sir Geoff Hurst and Frank Lampard Senior. I am sure Pat will be watching.

Not a single one of our group games in the Champions league will be on the ITV this season, they are showing Arsenal again instead next week. What a crock of sh*t.

Tell me somebody how this is fair to Chelsea fans all over the country who don't have Sky ?

United get 2 games in the Champions league groups stages every season, City usually get 2, Arsenal either get 1 or 2, and we always get 1..............now we get none. They even put crappy Celtic on against Barcelona earlier in the group over us, what a joke.

^ It's ITV, a commercial broadcaster whose only concern is making money therefore picking the games that they think will attain the highest ratings and generate the most advertising income for them. Being fair to us isn't a consideration for them.

Sure they said their reason for showing Celtic the other week was because they wanted to show all British clubs at least once in the group stages. If so, it does take the piss that they won't show us.

I did not know they said that, if that is the case then you are right it is just a massive piss take

You know what kind of excuse they would use if they were asked about it, they would say "Chelsea have appeared on ITV and ITV4 more than any other club in the last 2 seasons", yeah because we have been the only successful British club in Europe in the last 2 seasons, the rest haven't even come close. Since we have been more successful in recent seasons you would think we would be aired a bit more this season

I must admit, this is a bit of a head scratcher.

I initially thought that maybe it was Arsenal's away match in Naples next week (which could be a make or break game in that group), but I see it's actually their home game against Marseille. That's a duff choice for sure, Marseille have nowt to play for!
