This is tedious stuff. Been a real struggle this campaign.
Can't believe he leaves out Mata again.

That was a real chore to watch, just like the Basel games were. Still at least we won this time.

So it'll be one of these five in the next round:

Leverkusen
Galatasaray
Olympiakos
Zenit
Milan

Well we won but as others have said it was pretty dull and we are scraping games at the moment, even against poor opposition. Need to improve.

You would fancy us against any of those teams really, only Milan would be a challenge.

Nemanja Matic's agent rumoured to be discussing a move with us in the next few days. Sounds like the type of player we desperately need in that area. Rumoured fee would be a bit embarrassing considering we included him in the deal for Sideshow Dave, but if a January move is possible - do it!

Cech; Ivanovic, D Luiz, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Ramires, Essien; Willian, Mata, Hazard, Torres

Schwarzer, Cole, Lampard, Oscar, Schurrle, Ba, Eto’o

Luiz>Essien>Torres. The spine of champions.....

MC not a good result for us even if it appears so. 6-3 & counting.

The Luiz we sometimes see playing for Brazil, and the Essien/Torres of a few years ago and it would be !

I quite like the team actually, Oscar for Willian would be my only change. That probably means we'll struggle, my ideas about the side don't appear to be working this season.

Why is that ? We needed to see Arsenal pegged back. Win today and we're only 2 ponts behind. Beat Arsenal next week and we're really back in contention.

Good start. Won't be confident until we get 3 or 4.

We cant seem to have easy games at the moment, although amazingly we are still 2nd in the league and only 2 points behind Arsenal. We havent been playing well but we are still right up there.

Don't seem to be able to keep a clean sheet at the moment, defence is all over the place.
At least we got the three points and are second in the table.
Oh and Torres scored.

A wins a win, but we ain't half making things hard on ourselves. David Luiz in defense was all over the place today, as was Ivanovic. This defense needs balance. Bring back Cole at LB, move Azpilicueta to his main position RB, and play Ivanovic at CB.

I also don't like how easy teams run through our midfield when our attacks break down, it's far too easy.

Also if Hazard doesn't start taking on defenders i am going to drive to London and slap him across the head He has so much talent but he isn't showing it enough. He needs to top playing 5 yard passes to the side once he gets close to the box, he needs to be driving past full backs. He has everything in him to do this.

Half-joking bout Steve Clarke in the other thread, what are Desailly and Carvalho doing nowadays? Would love one of them back here to teach our current lot how to defend.....

All that talent and you are horrible to watch, results though fair enough.

Contrast you and Man City, thats how Chelsea should be doing it with your bottomless pit of money.

Roman will sack him again if they keep playing like shit, Rafa had more of a grasp of what was required that Jose, listening to the excuses from Jose is an absolute joke, then again most things Jose says are a joke and extremely ungracious which ties in with your club perfectly.

Because MC will be a much bigger threat from now on & are rightly favourites for the title, their GD is 29, more than twice ours (and Arses) Lets face it we dont deserve to be 2nd, or even top 4 the way we are playing at the moment.

Sadly, I agree with you, but come back when MC have won 3 PL titles, & the CL. I dont think most of us thought that Moro would be the "Messiah" that some predicted.

What you say is true, but I still think a win for Arsenal yesterday would have been a worse result for us.
As it happened, we did beat Palace, otherwise an Arsenal win and Chelsea losing could have left us 8 points adrift. Then a loss to Arsenal next week and it would have been practically all over.

Take away Suarez and your lot are a mid-table team at best. I won't even begin to defend Mourinho, his record speaks for itself. When you've won something anyone can remember, perhaps you can come into the forums of other clubs talking crap. Until then, I suggest you just..do one.

Yes, why on earth would we want a manager that wins things.
You probably have forgotten what that's like.
