Getting in the bath/shower and realising you've forgotten something.

Trying to get crumpets out of the toaster without burning all your fingers. It's like a more sadistic version of Operation!

People who feel the need to let everyone know how good their English is and use "big words" every second word just to sound intelligent. It's not wrong per se, it's just irritating to me when you're chatting on a forum and you see someone's post that looks like they've used every word in the dictionary...

When you go shopping at Iceland.
They used to have coin operated mechanisms attached to the handles.
Then they took them away and had metal poles attached so the trolleys couldn't be taken from the store.
Then, months later, when you know you don't need a £1 coin so you don't carry on with you, they have taken the poles away and put the coin thing back on

Not being able to watch live programs until they go online as the subtitles have caught up properly then, well it's one program in particular Even tried watching it live the other night and ignoring them but the guys were talking SO fast.

Really? It seems much more recent than that. It still annoys me though.

'I was sat' or 'I was stood'

I think it should be 'I was sitting' or 'I was standing'

Same here; also, invite as a noun. Yeah yeah, it's old, but it always sounds sorta stunted to me. Oh, and if I invite you to my party with an invitation, please don't write to say "Thankyou".

Lastly, impact as a verb, in the sense of "markedly affect". No, the economic downturn won't impact your profits; it will just have an impact on them (unless it also somehow squishes them right up together).

I hate when you trawl 47 pages to find a thread to post on and it gets split in two.

Having trouble with eBay sellers NOT using Royal Mail, and vowing to ask the next seller if they're using Royal Mail, and/or confirm with a seller when their listings says "Royal Mail will be used" that Royal Mail WILL actually be used.... then coming across a soon-to-be-ending auction of something I really need, whose listings SAYS Royal Mail will be used, but I ain't got time to ask the question, so I bid and win anyway...... and then, just now, getting an email from something called myhermes which is (iiuc) one of those new delivery companies - dammit and double dammit

People who stand right in your face, grin like an idiot and wave to you and say "It's MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Yes I know it's you. Your gormless face is two inches in front of me!

Just had an encounter with one from work when I was doing my shopping. To make matters worse, she has to start babbling on about a work matter - I'm on holiday and won't be back for another week! I don't bloody care!

When something hurts and you don't know why, obviously not bad enough that my ear hurt badly for several days due to an inflamed ear canal & have literally JUST got over it, I woke up with an achy back. I feel bad for complaining in my head as my brother has a terrible bad back (or did due to slipped discs) and my sister gets bad backs too. Just ANNOYING

I work on and off on a temporary basis for a number of local recruitment agencies. One thing I find really irritating is that when I am desperate for work ,I am constantly told there is nothing available for me but I can guarantee the second I get a phone call from an agency with an assignment, another agency will phone me with something longer term and for a higher pay rate as soon as I have accepted the work offered by the earlier caller.
